You know how the old saying goes.
Never, by any means let Sephiroth’s music start playing.
For real 😂😂
Unless your name is Sora. Then you shouldn't have too much of a problem.
@@d4rksonic474 Sora…? That little Tidus knock off Disney fruit? lol
He ain’t shit lol
@@fearlesscheshirecat1411 He canonically beat Sephiroth. Twice.
@@d4rksonic474 Yes….in a different universe lol
Sephiroth is used as an antagonist in Kingdom Hearts solely because of his popularity.
Safe to say, if Sora became a FF character that sure as shit wouldn’t happen.
That’s like trying to say every character in Super Smash brothers that you ever control as the protagonist could beat Sephiroth as well.
I love this fight because throughout the whole thing you can tell that Genesis is trying his absolute hardest, giving it his all, with a lot of genuine fury, while Sephiroth is just playing a game.
Lol they're all playing, even Angeal, they just play that hard with each other. Sephiroth is strong enough to wipe out Wutai by himself but so is Angeal and genesis, they just like to be children. The games and animes don't do that place much justice as seeing Sephiroth after anything he does would make you cold.
@@dragonpalindrath-vi5eh Genesis clearly was trying to prove something. Thats why Angeal had to stop them, and he blasted fire in his face. Genesis was trying HARD.
@dragonpalindrath-vi5eh look at his stance, sephiroth isn't even trying until the theme music starts playing and after that you see in every clash that sephiroth gets the upper hand, he's far stronger.
@@Mir0skiesIf only we could see how hard Genesis could try. But Angeal is too pacifist too allow that lol
my head cannon is Sephiroth was going 20% and cause he saw them as equals didn't realise that genesis was going 80-100% cause he just assumed they were going the same level he was
it’s kind of funny how it seems that sephiroth didn’t even realize genesis was serious. dude was giving his all, full of rage & jealousy while sephiroth was like “haha that’s fun ☺️”
sephiroth rarely put both hands on his blade, only a few times defensively
genesis took rolepaying the hero from loveless too seriously.
doesnt mean anything genisis used two hands once to block and his strongest block/attack was one handed @@stoogie375
I think it was even worse, he knew Genesis was serious and he found it cute
After the flashback, you can see he was happy telling zack about Genesis and Angeal. Poor sephiroth, they made him a monster
in Crisis Core we discover a side of him that is even hard to imagine, he was such a nice guy

To this day, this fight remains absolutely legendary
I lost track of how many times I’ve rewatched this, and the one with Sephiroth and Cloud
Indeed
Stfu, Give back the channel you hacked and changed It's name
Why are you everywhere?
Or rather, how are you everywhere?
This scene was soo iconic that I even remember all the dialogues of Angeal, Genesis and Sephiroth truly one of the most memorable scenes in Crisis Core.
Bruh back then i can recite all LOVELESS from act 1-5 🤣
How can we not, when we've beaten it into our heads
Then you should have noticed that they changed a few of them.....
Hey, I played crisis core on the PSP but not for years… is this scene taken straight from the psp, is it digitally enhanced or has it been completely re-done?
Thanks in advance!
@@avastaley3379 It's been taken directly from the PSP version and they retouched it up
And this, ladies and gentleman, is how you appropriately demonstrate power levels brilliantly to just show how Sephiroth is on a league of his own.
Like Teresa of the faint smile .
I mean there’s a reason why Hojo beat out Hollander and his Project S was considered the success of the two
agree
Ah, of course, Crisis Core, give us Sephiroth that genuinely treasures the bonds of friendship, just to be betrayed by them, and tentatively tries to build the same bond with Zack, just for Genesis to barge in and tell him that no, Seph, you aren't even an augmented human, you are a monster, and all you can do is destroy, and find out that Genesis didn't exactly lie. Way to screw up a guy's life.
i didnt play these remakes but the weird thing is how Genesis was right about everything, Zephiroth was a monster, Angeal and him also, he was seeking for the gift of the goddess and he obtain it.. apparently the original intentions with the character were pretty big but them they leave that arc inconclusive.. maybe is related to Gackt losing some popularity with the years to a point that is was not that cool to have a character based on his appareance.
@@rhagnvald the thing is that gackt is still incredibly popular, and that his looks have changed so many times that when you see genesis, you don't instantly think gackt.
@@AzureTears I mean if Dirge of Cerberus had been a better game and done well, there's a bigger chance we would've seen a conclusion to the Genesis story. I suspect that both Zack and Genesis are going to be tied more closely to the story of the FFVII Remake games. Especially since Weiss and Nero got introduced with some updates to their designs in the FFVII: Remake DLC.
In remake i kinda want him to learn of his real mother then help us fight his lost self that is trying to change things
DqqrzZZ¹❤
One of the best cutscenes in FF7 series that never gets bored to watch over and over again
Was it changed at all for this edition (besides the voices)?
@@marcthomas4488 uhh angeal said “you’ll destroy this place” instead of us all? other than that not rly
@@Caesarsal4d “this place” instead of “us all” is honestly a much better line and makes way more sense, I also feel it was delivered better
I agree still my favourite cutsence of all time from this game
I played the original from the pop days of gaming
But what about FF7 Dirge Of Cerberus? Best FF game.
Its pretty sad that Sephiroth saw Genesis as a real genuine friend while Genesis only saw Sephiroth as a goal for himself to surpass.
To see Sephiroth in action is just fantastic. He wields his sword with such finesse, despite the fact that it's longer than he is tall. There's almost no effort in him deflecting or even evading strikes from Angeal and Genesis at the same time! They're training hard, while he is barely doing anything.
that's because Sephiroth is the perfect Jenova creation unlike Genesis and Angeal that has less pure Jenova properties
Definitely a good cutscene, but if he were to fight Kefka, he would get his ass handed to him. It'd be embarrassing. 😆
@@KandiStomper what does Kefka have to do with any of this
Typical kefka stan
Sephiroth would easily annihilate Kefka. Well maybe not easily but he would win. He’s extremely powerful and intelligent like Kefka but he’s also a peerless swordsman
The original "how can i not, when you've beaten it into my head" was soooo great to me that i can't digest the line in the reunion
He can't show emotion because his voice is high pitched lol

I was thinking the same thing. New VA doesn’t match Sephiroth at all!
All hail Sephiroth.
It's such a flex that while Masamune is a two-handed sword, Sephiroth only rarely puts a second hand on his sword, usually for blocks. Most of his attacks (and most blocks and parries) are one-handed. He's just that strong.
Its when he cleans it
Masamune isnt even a weapon. Its a flex.
His whole weapon choice is a joke. Its not like shinra was giving out masamunes and buster swords. Sephiroth just chose something to compensate his ridiculous strength xd
Something he picked up off the ground
@@sakarinieminen3205i think the Buster Sword was made by Angeal father i think. Thay's why Angeal never uses it for someone who is "undeserving".
Yes, Sepiroth was seen using a Katana shorter than this 7ft Masamune.. his range was still the same (blade wave) he has no need for longer blade 😂
@@nerfedmann indont know if it was made by his father but the game states it was bought by him. Sephiroth needs to blow cigarette smoke to cause a recoil 😂
Only used two hands when killing Aerith
I like how the back-and-forth in this fight is Genesis pulling out the stops, enhancing his power and abilities with more and more magic... and, in the meanwhile, all Sephiroth does to counter everything Genesis throws at him is just to try a little bit harder.
Genesis excels in magic that's why he almost overwhelmed sephiroth with those fire blast
@@pfuze_5775No. Sephiroth wasn't even challenged by the fireballs. He was minorly inconvenienced.
@@pfuze_5775 'overwhelmed' is a bit much. Sephiroth wasn't even scratched
sephiroth was pretty chill before he became insane and evil
After playing reunion after years I’m kinda on his side

1:40 Remains one of the most fabulous evades to this day
Best part is he damn near had his eyes closed. Man's hair was flowing like a Maybelline commercial 😂
It was such a quick moment that I thought not many would appreciate how cool that was
Absolutely
Am i missing something? He blocks right there not evades, and the incoming attack he blocks was.... nothing special.
@@stephenpicciano6811 If you're not seeing him nonchalantly leaning back to avoid Angeal's attack with his eyes closed, all while looking like he should be in a shampoo commercial, then yes you are absolutely missing something.
One thing I love about this fight is you can tell Sephiroth is fighting defensively, he’s trying not to hurt the others, while Angeal and Genesis are fighting offensively to try to strike Sephiroth. This only changes when Genesis hurts Angeal and Sephiroth starts attacking Genesis for real. You can really tell Sephiroth cares for both of them, but Angeal is his favorite.
What's even more awesome about this scene, is that Sephiroth's theme doesn't play until AFTER Genesis hurts Angeal.
The theme is about anger and fury from Sephiroth's perspective. Why would it play BEFORE he goes insane? During the final battle makes sense. But here?
It's a clever use of the theme, since it's STRAIGHT to those vocals. Sephiroth was PISSED that Genesis would do that.
After the battle
Lazard: What did you three do?
Sephiroth/Genesis/Angeal, exchanging looks: …
Lazard, sighing: You’re not in trouble. I just need to know if I have to lie to the Board of Directors again.

I don't get why people are hating on Tyler Hoechlin. To be honest, I think he's doing a fantastic job voicing Sephiroth in Reunion, just like how he had voiced him in Remake. When I first heard him in Remake, I actually did warm up to him. I know that many people hate him because he's no 'George Newbern' but give this man a BREAK. He's trying his best here. Remake was his first-ever role and with him coming back later for Rebirth for a third time after his performance for Reunion is something I've been really excited to see.
I don't get it either. I thought they both did a great job. Not sure why he's getting so much hate
@@rockkandyart7291 Yeah. I know! I think they did wonderful, too. If I've learned anything, it's this: if you don't like the new voice actors working for your favorite characters, then don't get the game at all.
It's the nostalgia factor. People have already internalized George's voice as their Sephiroth, so anything different will sound off to them. New players don't really mind the VA changes.
@@yejing98 I've been around since the OG game. The thing for me is, I think it was actually genius because with Newburn Sephiroth was a wholly different person than he is with Tyler. Newburn was the soldier hero Sephy, Tyler is the cracked, insane antagonist Sephy. I think their voices are perfectly suited to the character changes.
@@yejing98It's not nostalgia. The original one was simply better. Something similar happened in Dissidia NT. Gabranth wasn't voiced by his original actor and he was voiced by Basch's actor. Will he did a great job, the original one was simply better.
Or perhaps we can see a closer example in Cloud. People like the new guy as well as the old actor but I've seen many people say that the best parts are when he tries to sound like the original guy in that case why not just get the original guy?
Finally, Zack. That one should be self explanatory.
The "nostalgia glasses" comment is becoming repetitive, new fans should simply understand that some actors are better in their jobs. And in Sephiroth's case, the original was superior.
Crisis Core Reunion is my first time seeing this cutscene & words just can't describe how epic it is
Even rhe original scene is well done.
You should take a look
But this version doesn't do the game justice with its voice acting. Wait till the modders replace all va with the original then we can call this the definitive way to enjoy the game
@@desmondlau1385 nah new players don't give a single flying f to VA issues that older players have a gripe with. For new players as long as the graphics and gameplay is good then it's more than enough
@@Gigi-zr6hp why settle for something worse when you can have better
@@desmondlau1385 because they've already grown attached to these voice actors via the remake and so will sound perfectly fine to them. I'm quite new to the FF7 compilation and so I played the original expecting some world class voice acting and... no. the OG is just as bad, there's really no difference.
Anyone else noticed that they changed the hilt of Angeal’s sword? It now resembles that of the original buster sword design because it’s also used in the remake, absolutely insane the lengths square went for this. Fantastic cutscene even a decade later!
Did anyone else notice at like 2:49 sephiroth said damn under his voice because genesis actually made him back up a little bit
I actually think it was "tch"
@@Killer_Kris7no he definitely said damn.
@@PrimarisDeathwatch In the original its "tch"
Yee
If you're playing with an ant then it suddenly bites you, you will say the same
It's pretty cool knowing in advent children, sephiroth had to use 2 hands on masamune to fight cloud, which showed how stronger cloud had gotten at that point.
But also note that Sephiroth was using Kadaj’s body to fight Cloud, which was weaker than his original body and the Jenova form he took in the OG
Cloud even broke a few blade-locks against Sephiroth in AC. Thats not to say that he's stronger than Sephiroth, but it shows that Cloud has gotten far stronger since the two year timeskip between FF7 and AC.
@@segagamer1014 Well, Cloud is estimated at something like 95% of Sephiroth. He's good enough that Sephiroth can easily blow it by not taking it seriously...which he keeps failing to do.
I actually really enjoy Hoechlin’s performance. George Newbern is a beast, but when I watch more and more clips I think theres some lines Newbern does better, and others that I think Hoechlin does better.
For example:
Newbern’s: “How can I not when you’ve beaten it into my head” I think is better.
But Hoechlin’s: “Is that the best you can do?” comes off better in my opinion.
I feel like Hoechlin does better portraying a good guy version of Sephiroth because his voice is soft and mellow. I love George’s voice work, but the problem with the voice he does is it’s extremely monotone, so he can’t be as expressive or emotive as Hoechlin. It just feels off in some scenes in Crisis Core and Advent Children
@@nemi9217 If they remake Advent Children at some point Hoechlin will have some big shoes to fill, Newborn’s “Good to see you, Cloud” is gonna be almost impossible to surpass.
After listening to newberns and hoechlins versions back to back, I still like newberns "is that the best you can do?" better
@@Carlisho That one will definitely be nearly impossible to top!
Hoechlin was better in Remake, I didn't even notice much that it was a different VA. But his performance in this game is a bit poorer compared to FF7 remake that I actually noticed Sephy sounds so different.
This cut scene always gives me goosebumps. So glad that they gave this game a true remaster treatment
Sephiroth: using 10% of his power.
Genesis: well, the fight is even, I think I can win.
3:48 Sephiroth: starts using 50% of his power.
3:53 Genesis: what the hell??
The fact Cloud can contend with Sephiroth at all is a miracle... But to defeat him in the core of the planet in the fashion that he did (against a wrathful 100% Sephiroth) would make Genesis writhe in absolute jealousy.
@@lienstone8019 real bro, the way Genesis is proud wouldn't surprise me.
Genesis: "That's no way to talk to a hero!"
Also Genesis: *burns his friend's face off... heroically*
Huh, it was suppose to be "You'll destroy us all" , and I noticed the voices sound different too, I know this scene well because I've played it over and over again over the years. I remember all the words too. Though I prefer the original voice actors or at least the way they voiced it back then if it's still the same people 🤷♂️

I guess Angeal reasoned that Sephiroth was never in any real danger from Genesis' attacks. the training room was going to be the more likely casualty
It is "You'll destroy the company building!" in the original Japanese, so the new translation is more accurate

I didnt know they remade this specific scene, thats awesome with the updated graphics. Nostalgia feels all over.
It's the same CG cutscene that was in the original version as with all of the pre-rendered CG scenes in the game.
Is really fucking funny seeing how pressed english speakers get about Sephiroth's VA. I'm from Brasil so it was always japanese with english sub that I consumed. The Remake was my first time getting the english version and I love the voice acting Hoechlin does.
It made me decide to go back and search the OG english voices and I love them too. Both are good, just in different ways.
George has this menacing, otherwordly quality to it. Hoechlin has this playfulness that is kinda creepy. Both are good, to the people that get all up in arms about it, you lot need to calm down.
(Edited because my phone doesn't like Sephiroth's name rsrsrs)
Since this was the first time consuming the En dub how did you feel about the other new voices for the remake
The scariest part is how you can tell from miles away that Sephiroth isn't taking this seriously in the slightest.
He barely even realised Genesis was pissed and jealous.
This was just a game for him.
The original voice acting hits so much harder
This game made me care for every character, and I found Sephiroth to be likable here. It was a blast to play it on the PSP!
the fact that this scene was originally made in 2007 and is still a better fight scene than most anime/video game cutscenes today
I just start Crisis Core after playing the Original FF7 and holy shit this scene had my jaw dropped the entire time, THAT’S NO WAY TO TALK TO A HERO that shit was cold af🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This perfection of a battle only made better with smoother graphics. Nothing else needs to be changed.
this scene has aged very well, they changed some dialogue from the original but it still gives me goosebumps just like the first time
Sephiroth slashing the junon cannon like it was a piece of sausage will foverer remain iconic to me what a character!
Everyone gangsta until "One Winged Angel" starts playing
Sad to see a great, capable, and good character like Sephiroth become insane and died.
Genesis: I WILL PROVE I AM THE STRONGEST! I AM THE HERO NOW! I WILL DESTROY YOU SEPHIROTH! YOU WILL DIE AND THEN YOU WILL STAY DEAD AND- *etc.*
Sephiroth: This is fun! I am having fun with my friends! =)
ambient sound designs were definitely improved over the previous iterations. the metal resonating when the blades clash, the impact from collisions, and the slices themselves felt like they had more emphasis on destructive power.
that being said, the VA could use a little fine-tuning
Could close my eyes during this sequence. It’s so good I got it memorized.
I had a dedicated save file just for this cutscene!
I’m impressed that they still bothered to switch Angeal’s sword design in this
Still one of the best and most epic fight everrrr!! So good to see this in High Quality
Am I the only one who thinks Genesis's spinning leap is the absolute best moment of this cutscene?
I think the sickest thing about this cutscene playing on PS5 or with a PS5 controller on PC the controller vibrates with every sword strike and explosion
Can we talk about genesis new va? I couldn’t stand the old one but the elegance of his new va really enhances the love he has for poetry and is just better casting imo
Unlike Sephiroth lol
Just like Angeal - he now sounds more brutal
I remember when you uploaded the original Crisis Core version of this fight. Time really does fly.
It's really cool to finally see this cutscene in true full HD.
I kind of wish they gave us an option with the original voice cast.
I’m so glad I’m not the only who thinks so
It would have required lot of extra work not to mention paying twice as many voice actors. Plus they wanted to focus on the Remake voice actors and just replaced everyone else. I understand why they did this.
@@mr.awesome6011 I mean they reused some of the cutscenes from the original game
@@mr.awesome6011 why not use the same audio as the last one
@@mr.awesome6011 it was a pretty solid audio from back in the day
Genesis was so confident, and smug. He wanted the fame, the power, and the glory that came with replacing Sephiroth, but all he got was a severe reality check.
I remember the music behind Loveless and i just love Genesis as a character. Clearly, he sees Sephiroth as his rival and wants to surpass him. I get a lot of people hate Genesis for their reasons, but I can't help but like the character. He knows what he is, he's accepted it. He's seeking a higher power, the Goddess, but is also one of the anchors that kept Sephiroth human for a good long time.
One does not simply, don’t let Sephiroth’s theme play.
That theme music is so iconic!!
This is why I hold out for a Genesis appearance on the team's side in one of the remake games. Genesis always sought to overcome Sephiroth, not because he's evil but simply because he's the best and Genesis wanted to be that. I could see it as a nice conclusion for Genesis's arc to concede that maybe he can do it - but not alone. Or that he'd potentially even be willing to give his life for it. I know he's technically alive in Dirge but... everything's different now, isn't it?
I’m not holding out hope, but it would be really neat if we got to see some sort of reunion of the full SOLDIER Trio. We know Genesis isn’t actually out of play, since Weiss and his squad had him stashed somewhere the whole time, and although Angeal is supposed to be 100% dead… so is Zack, and they’re messing with *that*. I don’t care if it’s on good terms or bad, but it would be pretty neat for them to have a reunion of some sort, whether it’s timeline shenanigans or Lifestream Ghosts
Personally would have preferred the original design of the buster sword. Since in crisis core the sword were newly forged as a nice present for Angeal’s accomplishments. By the time Cloud get the sword from Zack it would still have the gold decoration on the hilt. So Cloud might have sold it to get by or got rid of it to not attract any attention with its fancy looking before he made it into the FFVII.
3:20 Angeal: Stop! You’ll destroy this place!
Genesis: That’s no way to talk to a Hero!
Sephiorth: Proceeds to destroy anything in his way.
This would be a great movie! Like Advent Children!
I'm shocked they haven't done a movie based on crisis core. It's worthy of it and if they did it before Rebirth comes out it would do well since Zack is involved more in the new trilogy
Angeal's the one that tells Genesis to stop
@@thegrammarpolice69 fixed it! Thank you, I honestly am not familiar with 7 as much as I can be.
@@darknesswave100 personally I think they should have made crisis core a movie and advent children a game instead of what they did, crisis core as a story works as it’s own thing where with the movie you expect audiences to have played the game beforehand to understand what’s going on
Imma be honest, in my opinion Angeal's new voice actor is definitely better than the old one. Definitely has more emotion put into the character. In my opinion Angeal's old va sound bored which I don't know if that was the direction they were trying to go for Angeal for a serious tone character, but some lines in that voice back then made some scenes feel like slapstick comedy ("like you destroy this place" followed with an awkward damage grunt and the famous "World Dominiation" scene). The new Angeal voice actor feels that they have the right amount of emotion to feel Angeal's motives as a character and still keeps a serious tone without making him sound bored or a bit lifeless.
when the remake was announced everyone first thought was this fight scene.
This fight was legendary. The whole game was really. My brother and I watched the whole cut scenes video on RUclips (like 4 hours long) and we both cried again. This story ran SO deep... and Angeal.... damn that moment. Not just for a handheld, but for a game. It was epic.
One of the strangest changes to this version is the lack of ambiance. Comparing it to the original, all environmental ambient sounds are lower in the mix, so it just sounds like it's being recorded in a studio rather than a simulator that transforms a room into reality. Some of the sound effects are better in the new version in my opinion, like the fireballs, but something about the old sound of the room breaking was so destructive.
I'm happy that they kept the original visuals and uncompressed them though :D
Angeal: this sword represents my family dreams and honour
Zack:I will keep that honour for you
Cloud: Never mind
When Sephiroth's music comes on it's about to get real! Goosebumps!
I am gonna say what I am pretty sure everyone knows, in this fight everytime genesis gets hit you tell he struggling more, every moment they exchange blow and Genesis keeps upping the anti you know he frustrated because seph can tank block and counter his strongest attacks with our any sweat or more then a mild annoyance, this cutscene is masterfully done even seph start getting serious (I wouldn't say out frustration because he's getting annoyed at Genesis and like men do when they argue puts out the same energy getting from him) and Genesis borderline gets knocked back on his ass almost love the relationship of these three and at time wish they could of made up maybe in the afterlife they could
I loved to know Tyler did Sephiroth, since I always played Japanese version (which is always better) I really loved him in this tho
Angeal, Genesis and I used to be friends, I still remember the good ol’ days of our friendship

The fight looks great, but I'm not sure if I'm not a fan of the new voice actors yet.
Yeah feel the same about the voice acting for the English dub, changing it to Japanese helped me when I play.
Genesis's magic now sound like a discharged energy weapon, pure eargasm and extremely fitting because this guy was a lab's product
lmao Sephiroth is also a lab product but the most successful lab product unlike Genesis and Angeal
They kept the OG pure. I respect that. I would have preffered an in-engine, but i respect this.
The Great Sephiroth. Even after his physical body is destroyed, his WILL persists. After overpowering Jenova's will, Sephiroth gained the ability to exert his influence through her cells, able to construct avatars in his likeness, as well as other eldritch entities, enabling him a physical presence in the world of the living and attaining a sort of immortality. At the end, he becomes Bizzaro God, then he reaches the One WINGED ANGEL... beyond divine power... combining all 10 paths of sephiroths plus godhood manifestation and merging with the planet itself... Not a fan of the new va I liked the original better in this cutscene but seeing this in 4K is beautiful
I've mentioned before to people I know about the whole Final Fantasy series but not really that much so I've been watching them on RUclips so I csn learn a lot more about them!
Wow I didn't realize they changed Genesis voice. They even changed some of angiel's lines
I remember watching this on my PSP at the time and being in awe of how cool it was we got this fight in cgi format after playing ff7 for years without anything close to this good since ff7 was so damn old. Now we get this in 4k in Crisis Core Reunion and what a sick ass game this is. If you're a FF game and haven't played it b/c it was a 'psp game', you're missing out on one of the best.
You know to this day I still don't understand why sephiroth had such a drastic change in character to the point he was willing to kill people he cared for.
Because he realized he is no hero and neither a true human, he is actually no different from how shinra created those monsters by infusing human with mako energy. After he found out he was created using cells from an alien, who wants to destroy the planet, Sephiroth think of the alien as his mother and wants to succeed the aliens plan and also take revenge on shinra who "made" him a monster.
@desmond lau I understand that to a degree, but some of the people he tried to kill were people he loved not even finding out your origins like he did really should turn him that psychotic.
@@Theemptythroneistaken but he never love anyone not even his parents, I doubt he even knew who his parents are and he sure didn't kill his parents. And he thinks of Jenova, an alien as his parents, and naturally he feels himself is an alien too. That makes the humans the "alien" and monsters who experimented on him. If you are Sephiroth, what's stopping you from hating and killing the "alien/monsters"? What's more they are the ones your "mother" was trying to kill?
@desmond lau Angeal and genesis were people he definitely loved, and, to some extent, zack, I mean he didn't even offer zack to join him on his crusade. Someone he had more history with than cloud at the time.
@@Theemptythroneistaken While Angeal and Genesis were his good friends but it doesn't seem to go as far as love or family. Then again Sephiroth is not the 'family' kind of guy. He is calm, collected and cold. I'd say he doesn't have much emotional attachment against anyone as he is the strongest man he knew throughout his life. Which means nothing stopping his from killing anyone he wants.
They changed the dialog of Angeal from "stop! You'll destroy us all!" in the original to "stop! You'll destroy this place!" in the remake
If there’s any moment of his past that Sephiroth should want to change, it’s the moment where he wounded Genesis.
Genesis wounded himself not Sephiroth.
@@sumirsookdeo9443 Fair enough. But it was because of Sephiroth that he was wounded.
Why would he want to change that? I'm curious as to what ya answer could be. 🤔 I'm a genesis fan "unpopular I know" but that arrogance...🤌🏾 makes me like him even more.
@@youngballar00 He and Genesis were friends before that. Beyond that, the wound Genesis took in this fight was the trigger for the neverending parade of horribles that set up the original FFVII - which resulted in Sephiroth's death.
i wonder if the sephiroth we know now even knows that this one training incident accidentally led to all of FF7 happening
In this Training Fight, Sephi dominates being his Left Handed, seems he had good wield in one hand, when it starts getting serious, he switch to his right hand to full control and later use both hands to be balanced.
I like how they edited the buster sword handle
Thank god🙄
Most people won't notice this but the video actually have slight changes. Angeal's buster sword is actually different. Originally the hand guard is golden instead of iron and has the Chinese like dragon style on it
I admit to having next to zero animation experience, but if they’re able to make slight changes like that, could they maybe have tweaked the lip syncing so it better matches up with the new voice acting? I especially noticed Genesis reading off Loveless at the beginning was slightly out of sync
Really hate how they changed “you’ll destroy us all” to “you’ll destroy this place”
Yooo the new voice actor did a great voice match with Sephiroth's "come and try" line
Genesis reading & closing that book at the 1:14 mark reminded me of V from Devil May Cry 5
V had much more swagger in it
I keep coming back to watch how awesome this is, but this time, and after reading some of comments, I realized that sephiroth never was smug or arrogant, he only just came off that way. The reason he is that way is because his whole life, he was always better than everyone at everything. Yeah, he was a badass, but he never really had any concern or fear when fighting so he never really had to put forth any effort which is why his only moment of genuine surprise was when cloud threw him off the catwalk of the mako reactor. He literally couldn't believe it because he just didn't think losing was possible.
Genesis voice is better in the other one.
Finally!! FACTS
damn just realized that genesis does the angeal and zack pose (with his sword in front of his head) too
Sephiroth: LOVELESS… Act I.
Genesis: You remembered.
Sephiroth: How can I not when that’s all you ever F$CKING TALK ABOUT?!? 🤬
I cry every time I hear “under the apple tree”
I never got to play the original, but I always loved watching this fight. Kind of sounds like they half-assed the voice acting in this version though
1:30 fight starts
All fun and games until “one winged angle” starts playing
