Final Fantasy VII Remake is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix, released for PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020. Little fact: Aerith's and Zack's japanese VAs are married in real life.
I thought no one will know that detail but yeah i remember the news when they got married, just i forgot the year when that happens
PS: Shin Asuka and Lunamaria Hawke from Gundam Seed Destiny they give their voices to those characters too that got together at the end of the serie

Can we all appreciate the amount of love and care Square took in animating every scene multiple times for different languages lip sync? Insane.
They didn't though. They used AI to have it automatically lip sync correctly. That said the programming is still impressive and a really cool tool.
Automated lip syncing is a thing since a few years in AAA productions.

Yup, it was a recasting deal between Sony and Warner Bros/CBS. That's why you see all the new cast coming from Warner Bros and CBS shows.

With sources. Sony has made a huge movie/tv show deal with Warner Bros (through WB's company HBO) and recasted FF7R with Warner Bros actors. With FF7R being a timed exclusive and with the past relationship between Sony and Square, Sony had enough influence to make this happen.

Tyler went to my high school, he was also a on our baseball team and was one of the "cool" kids.

It's really nice and authentic in English and Japanese but in German the kids are voiced by 30+ y.o. and it sounds really weird :(
Squareenix did it too in FFVII advent children. They use childrens for voicing and motion captured childrens characters. Even for non main childrens characters.

The English voice actors are literally told to sound like their Japanese counterparts as the original is Japanese.
I’m still amazed that 3 of the Phantom Thieves lent their voices to this game. We got Futaba as Jessie, Ann as Kyrie, & Ryuji as Red XIII.
Even Spider-Man & Doctor Octopus from the Spider-Man video game were in this as Johnny & Palmer.

It was odd hearing Badger being the voice of Wedge, but after hearing his Japanese Counterpart, they do sound very similar. So it's obvious that SquareEnix had a specific type of voice for the character.
One of the few games that nails both languages, must be a huge budget.

Omgoodness! I just noticed how impressive the animation team is also. Did anyone else notice the characters’ mouth moves differently and accordingly according to the language they speak? That’s so much work! I know a lot of games don’t redo the mouth animations just to fit the dubs!
Actually they use an A.I. system for the mouths. Still cool regardless!

@@sbatou87 see thats where I disagree he plays him perfect. His pitch is flat. Almost absent of emotion. Thats how Sephiroth should be. George Newbern definitely is Sephiroth, however he had a certain emotion with his portrayal. Sephiroth should be void of feeling almost robotic and I think Tyler gives a little less then desired feel for Sephiroth. That to me is perfect for who our OWA is. And that thing missing i believe is he sounds like he is reading a book when he talks. Like he is telling a story. Pretty interesting to think that possibly that was his angle.

Cody Christian is Cloud, didn't know. I think he did a good job.
I loved Rachael Leig as Tifa, but I won't deny that I liked Brit Baron more, I think her voice fits Tifa more.
Overall everyone did a good job, the only one I prefer from the old cast is Sephiroth, his new voice didn't convince me much.
That is pretty much the general opinion. The new cast but Sephiroth feels fresh and they bring like more depth to the characters. The problem with Sephiroth is that...his voice is too average or normal for a villain. What made Newbern's Sephy so great was how he was like this calm sociopath, and at the same time his voice was elegant for the character.
And Zack Fair, his voice matched his cheerful personality so much better. This new voice made me cringe a bit :/

The kid voice actresses for Marlene are so cute and adorable 🤗. Also I remember Maaya Sakamoto (also Aerith's VA in Advent Children) because she sang one of my favorite anime songs, Kiseki no Umi
Fun Fact: the voice director and Morikawa agreed to make Sephiroth's voice sound always calm, as if he never fears the slightest possibility of defeat.
This is something you hear before you even realize that fact.. the magic of japanese VA. You can't even compare this to the english VA.
Hojo's Japanese voice is also on another level.
Englsih VA's did well but seriously the japanese VA have so much more emotion.

It's some what's rare when both the subs & dubs do an equally amazing job. Can't choose between the two especially as fan of subs.
Both language are perfect and really match. Nothing are bad of them. Not just that. I love how the dev make their lip sync was very accurate and syncronize with their own language

Now that I'm finally hearing the whole cast in one video, why were people complaining? Everyone fit their characters great, even Sephiroth. George Newbern is always going to be the default Sephiroth, but Tyler did a fine job. The only character I had issue with is Aerith. Not even that she was played badly, but her actresses voice is too different from the previous one, whereas most of the others sound pretty close.
Roche’s Japanese voice actor is the same as All Might from My Hero Academia and Tseng has the same Japanese voice as Yami from Black Clover.
one day I hope we will see Vincent Valentine voiced by Steve Blum in English and Shogo Suzuki in Japanese ❤️

You forgot to mention the random NPC after the plate fall that is voiced by George Newbern, the old Sephiroth's voice actor. That voice... it's him. I just KNOW it's him there.
This NPC can be found helping out his beloved by saying stuff like "Don't worry, everything's gonna be alright."

Japanese voices are a way in the final fantasy spirit. Ff is sweet spirit. Maybe English voices mix was a bit more aggressive than Japanese. French version was nice too, especially aeris

Josh Keaton was also the voice of Electro in the 2018 video game.

im amazed by how similar most of them sound. i feel like most english dubs dont really capture the character as well but so many of them sound like the same person speaking english and japanese

Caleb Pierce (Zack's English) sounds like your stereotypical protagonist in the 2010s. But, Suzumura Kenichi is ultimately the better fit, because his tone of voice is a bit similar to Cloud's Japanese VA.

Aerith Voice in English is so beautiful just like her character and in real life she really looks like aerith for real.... I like her voice sounds bubbly, sweet and heavenly even if she swore😅.. Love her ofc others cast too.
Btw I like japanese dub if it was a cartoon animation type of coz cartoon was precise and more movement so as well as speak , unlike in 3d it's more of speaking voice with their actual faces to be look intent so english dub suits them coz they give justice to the 3d animation with minimal action so english dub are the best fit. ....
