John did a phenomenal job with Barret's voice tbh. Hands down one of the best voices I've heard in a video game

Yeah every time they spoke you could hear the voices of Cloud, Tifa, Aerith and Yuffie especially coming out of their real life natural speaking voices. Tifa and Aerith voice actors are using almost their real life voices for the characters so it sounds natural.
Absolutely agree with this. They really nailed the VA for this project. Everybody is very well cast, each of them sounds exactly like they look like. It’s remarkable. I really liked the VA in Advent Children, but I think they did a great job paying homage to that cast and sort of casting people in the same vein, but also doing something a bit different at the same time. It was so well done.
They're also as anime level attractive as their in-game counterparts lol.
Red’s VA is extremely talented. All these years I thought he was an older man and than you see his range in this game when you get to see another side of Red in Cosmo Canyon. I was shocked it was still the same actor.
Incredibly well done but I have to admit I preferred the deeper voice for Nanaki, just a personal preference
I was mind-blown when I saw Max's credit as Red XIII. That was some insane range to do two entirely different voices for him!
I knew him as Saitama from One Punch Man long before the game so I was almost mad impressed by him getting the older voice.

I also really like the narrative implications of her singing that stuff. Cause in this game her and Barrett start off a bit opposed, but he was the one singing dumb little songs in the last game!

Suzie was amazing! The voice actress for Kyrie also made and sang her own song, which was also mindblowing.

Tifa's VA is my favorite! So soothing and emotional, but it's so subtle and soft. Just like the Tifa we all imagined

Matt getting to voice one of his dream characters, one that he has COSPLAYED is absolutely amazing.
Britt Baron is absolutely perfect for voicing Tifa. You literally cannot pick a better voice for her IMO. Every voice actor/actress is amazing in Remake, but they really nailed Tifa's voice. It matches her character perfectly.
Tifa honestly has the least fitting voice, in my opinion, aside from Sephiroth, of course. The rest of the main cast is so good. Barret is beyond perfect. Red is amazing. Cloud currently has the best English voice he ever has. Tifa… is there.

Barrets character has been through so much, had me sobbing during Rebrith TWICE. His voice actor did a great job. The whole English VA cast was phenomenal.

This crew is going to be the iconic voices for these characters for a very long time. Even when I play OG FF7 now, I hear their voices in my head. They've done a phenomenal job.

Yeah he delivered in Rebirth
I feel like the main issue in crisis core is that a lot of the animation was already done by the time they went in to record, so they were recording to fit the animation rather than the other way around, so a lot of the lines had to be stretched out or delivered in an awkward way to make it look right. I noticed this during one of the signings caleb did with briana, he mentioned that the "what is going on?" line was one that was stretched out to fit the animation.
I don't like Zack in this one. He sounds too... like he's trying to emulate Sora from Kingdom Hearts. Then again the script he has to work with is pretty crappy so it could be that.
He bodied rebirth for sure. Great growth to see from CC days
Let me just say that Caleb Pierce's performance as Zach in rebirth was a night and day difference vs him in crisis core. I wasn't the biggest fan of him in crisis core, but absolutely loved his performance in rebirth!
Problem with Crisis Core Reunion was that it had all the same stilted and awkward scripts and deliveries from the OG release, even with the updated cast. Like it tried too hard to stick to what Crisis Core was rather than revising and reworking things to few more natural as Remake and Rebirth have done.
@@Rexaura888I’d even go as far as to say they tried to have Pierce’s voice performance be more “faithful” to the original JP VA, which in my opinion, didn’t - lack of a better word - “translate” well. I think by the time they had him voice the Yuffie DLC ending and onwards, the voice director figured out it was best for Zack’s English voice to have his own sound, just as Rick Gomez did for Advent and original Crisis in English.
They struck absolute gold with these voices man
I hope one day Tyler Hoechlin will sit down and do an interview. I’d love to hear his method for channeling Sephiroth.
He's probably pretty busy with other projects because he's the biggest actor in this game, so I imagine he doesn't have the free time to sit in for these kinds of videos. I'd love it too though.

@@saphcal even the Japanese creators have made it clear they're pronouncing it "Kate Sith." Its a different world and they're not on Earth. There is also no Scotland on Gaia.
@@kirara2516 no. they said its pronounced that way in english, and it is. in japanese its pronounced correctly as Ket Shee and you can hear the devs say it in the other videos in this series and in the actual game if you play in japanese. his name even in the ps1, in japanese was written in japanese characters that are read as "ketto shii". his name has always been pronounced correctly in japan.

Britt Baron is the perfect embodiment of why her performance and the entire cast prove they deserve to voice their respective characters. Not only are their performances match made but they have a DEEP understanding of their character studies that further elevated the end result. Having completed Remake and Rebirth, it is to my own surprise that I can find equal enjoyment with the English voice performance with the Japanese version, whereas Advent Children Complete was with Japanese only. Voice direction is also handled with greater care than in all FF history. We are incredibly lucky to have Britt and the entire cast. I cannot imagine Tifa being voiced by anyone else. She and the entire cast has my immense respect onwards.
PS @Square Enix , please consider a new alternate English dub for Advent Children Complete in the future with this endearing cast.

Everyone has done such an incredible job with their performances. They all understand and embody their characters and add so much to the roles and they understand how important this game is to people. I can’t wait to hear how Cody tackles Cloud’s growth in part 3.
i love how much respect and admiration everyone has for their characters and the game in general. i teared up when bri started talking about aerith and i love that cody said that he's fallen in love with voicing cloud! also thanks for the video of matt in the booth learning he got a dream role of his!
It is definitely a far cry from the old cast, which aside from Steve Burton, I don't think were into voicing their characters at all

Barret and especially Tifa are so well nuanced. I love it. Cloud has just the right amount of vulnerable badass. You can hear just a bit of uncertainty or softness even in his toughest moments. Red's voice reveal shocked me and cracked me up. Kudos to the voice actor. The whole cast is great.

I enjoyed every hour of the 200+ hours I have spent in this game.
I tried my best to discover every corner and every little detail everyone worked on and I can tell there is love and passion behind this, not just greed like many other games.
Obviously, a lot of us are here for the Matt reaction video...because obviously lmao But I loved hearing everyone talk about their characters, what stuck out to them and what they mean to them. But I really have to appreciate John
_Some_ people don't understand what representation means to some of us, especially really good representation. Like he said, it would be easy to portray Barret as a stereotype or a caricature- big, loud, angry black guy. But with the way he's written and portrayed, you can easily see that he has so many layers and sides to him. He's actually really kind, reliable, thoughtful. Gotta thank the entire team for writing all the characters so well, really, but definitely for Barret and for John doing such an awesome job

Absolutely love the voice cast, Square did an incredible job getting these actors together and their performances have been flawless. They way they understand the characters is so wholesome. Cody and Britt do an amazing job understanding their characters and the journey they're going through.
I honestly don't know how they can top this game. The sequel has to be immensely more emotional!

See I agree, I really like his Zack ...but man, I've heard alot of people complain about Caleb and I just don't get it.
@@spoogtastic I think people unfairly judged him for Remake with his limited voice lines being rereads of the previous actors performance, and Crisis Core Reunion had dreadful voice direction all around (From everyone, even Tyler Hoechlin). He did a great job in Rebirth alongside the rest of the cast
Rick Gomez set a REALLY high bar, and Celeb just doesnt have the same magic.

The voice actor casting is absolutely brilliant. Somehow the voices sound just like I imagined them.
Will we ever get Tyler hoechlin for one of these interviews, I get he’s a busy man but it be nice for to drop once to sit down and talk about the role especially with other cast members.
I think they’re keeping him away from these types of promos on purpose since Sephiroth is still such a mysterious character. I’d assume he’ll probably join the promo for Part 3.
I think Calebs performance being so much better one this game is actually a case of hugely better direction as well as his own improvement.

I could listen to Britt talk for hours! Her voice as Tifa is so soothing and just always comes off as so genuine and caring which is exactly who Tifa is at her core

All these actors knocked it out the park. I was so sad to see the credits roll on Rebirth but at the same time so happy we still get to experience the excitement of one more release in the trilogy and spending dozens more hours with these characters and performances.
Aerith VA is just a massive WOW. Can’t explain how much I love the character and how much Briana makes me understand her sooo well. Hope that we are able to have so much moments like the ‘last date’ with cloud in the next game
This was so well done, I could watch an entire 2 hour long documentary on the behind the scenes about the game and more about the actors and actresses. I absolutely love how each VA displays their love for the game and their respective characters. So much love went into this game and it shows. Brought me to tears watching this. Every VA is literally perfect for each of their roles. Looking forward to Part 3!

Such a fantastic voice cast. I never played the OG but I loved Remake and just finished the even more incredible story in Rebirth. The wait for Part 3 is going to be excruciating.
So much talent in this whole cast. Its funny because most of them speak slightly differently from their characters but Britt and Cody sound exactly the same...every time I hear them speak I do a double take 😂.

He talked a lot but there genuinely was some great lines and interactions from Chadley
The cast are so bloody fantastic. I was so ready to be sceptical of new voices as I'd grown accustomed to the regular FFVII voice cast from Advent Children, Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts but wow as soon as I heard the new voice actors I fell in love with them. Incredible work done by both the talent and the voice directors.
Perfect cast all around, every single voice really works for me and that's coming from an "old" FF7 fan that played the original back when it first came out - these voices are so spot on, I feel like they are the voices that I heard in my head when I read the dialogue back then. The casting director couldn't have done a better job with finding the right actors. With FF7 and its characters being very dear to me, I'm extremely grateful that they managed to give the new party members just as perfect voices as the ones we already got to hear in Remake.
I could write a short paragraph about each character but I figure that's just spam. If anyone involved reads this, please know that my praise is directed at YOU.
Did not watch any trailer of the game and I was blown away when I first saw how big the game was. I just finished the game a week ago with a 100 hour playthrough worth every money.

Just finished the game this week, the cast was absolutely fantastic.
Shout-out to Suzie though! Yuffie was such a fresh and fun character throughout the entire story! Every scene with her was super fun.
Yuffie really grew on me, she has this spunky and cheeky little sister attitude that I find endearing plus her combat is so lit

Tifa is one of those characters (and women) we don’t see too often anymore: Caring, female character…who is strong, instead of a “strong, female character” archetype. This entire game is filled with awesome characters like that. Thank you, to the voice actors, for portraying that.
