Been an Aerith fan for years, became the BIGGEST Aerith fanatic after Remake, then absolutely fell in love with her all over again in Rebirth. My entire playthrough I chose every option I could to make her smile and spend time with her, and cried maybe half of the playthrough. Getting to spend a second life with someone as special as Aerith was unlike anything I've ever experienced in a video game. I knew the scene with this song was gonna make me cry, but I had no idea it was gonna destroy me the way it did. The Loveless play leading right into this scene was legendary. Thank you to EVERYONE who worked on this experience/game.

I love Aerith so much! I hope she manages to escape her fate, as said by Nojima, and manages to find and hold the hands of the person she met on the busy street (Loveless reference) forever! A beautiful piece that's both got elements of a love song, expressing Aeris's relationship with Cloud, and also about everyone she cares about and the burden of her fate as a Cetra. Aeris wants to escape that fate and just be together with Cloud and her friends. Video game song of the year for sure.
This was a beautiful video. I cried listening to this song and just adore Aerith. I remember playing FFVII in 1997 and just being obsessed with her. She’s a character that is very cherished. Thanks so much for sharing this and for all your hard work! Love this so much. ❤❤❤

Clerith is literally the definition of 'it's us against the world'... They're so real and have the most beautiful scenes in this game. They've been on my mind since I was a child; I grew up with their beautiful love story and have always wished the best for them. They truly deserve it! Their story is incredibly well done and will forever be my favorite of all time.

Metaphor was good, but THIS has to be my GOTY. This was more than a game, it was a time machine to the days when I was a kid, but also proof that Final Fantasy can still be what it used to be all those years ago. This game was definitive proof that Final Fantasy can return to the king of RPGs if they keep following this forumla.

'Hollow' written from Cloud's pov and 'NPTK' from Aerith's, where both songs interconnectedly lyrically... Cloud changing fate to save her & Aerith wanting to be found... NPTK talking abt the moment they met... Loren Allred herself talking abt their relationship and bond, the video being all Clerith centred......... yeah i'm pretty sure who the song is about
So Nojima San wrote this song open to interpretation? I'll go with Loren's and Uematsu's interpretation here. This song being sung to Cloud is the only interpretation that makes sense to me in this part of the story. I am so glad that the great Uematsu and Loren collaborated to give us this masterpiece of art. This song moved me to tears and it will stick with me forever. This song is absolutely beautiful❤ Aerith is my favorite video game character of all time, her strength, her kindness, her compassion, her wit, and her determination are what make her so beautiful. To give Aerith such a beautiful song to encompass her true feelings of her struggles and her love and hopes was so amazing to finally have, it really brought tears in my eyes for Aerith to have such a special moment. Uematsu you’ve done it again with such powerful and elegant orchestrations, Nojima your lyrics encompass her journey so beautifully, and Loren the heart you put into your performance took my breath away. I think Nojima was very careful saying the song is not about Zack or Cloud, due to a lot of hate Nojima recieved from Tifa fans (No Pun intended!) last year at Game Awards. The song clearly hints Aerith feelings for Cloud, the lyrics "Till the day, that we meet again, on our street" meaning that Aerith first met Cloud on Sector 8 Street, and another lyrics "Till the day, that we meet again at our place" meaning Aerith's Church is their place. The hints are clearly there!
Nojima wrote the song in Japanese then they had to translate the song to English. They had to create a few liberties in trying to fit the lyrics to the song. "Our street" doesn't exist in the direct translation.

It's brilliant, especially when the theme song is played in the ending. i will never forget aerith looking at the plane, saying "goodbye" to cloud and her friends, leaving her all alone, while the piano intro started to play, it's just added to the sadness😢

Final Fantasy VII is the first FF game I ever played, and it will always be, in my opinion, the best game ever created. The music in the original game will always be special to me. And all of the characters, especially Aeris, will always be special to me.

I'll go with Loren's and Uematsu's interpretation here. This song being sung to Cloud is the only interpretation that makes sense to me in this part of the story.

It’s obvious the song was about Cloud. It was only after Nojima was sent d*^th threats and being harassed online by Cloti’s that he said it’s about everyone.
Even though the evidence opposing that statement is overwhelming.

The evidence is overwhelming how it’s about Cloud and Aerith. Nojima isn’t stupid, he knows 3-4 years is a long time to take harassment from a bunch of psychos. Just because they have confirmation bias blinding them to the obvious facts.
I came in playing these games with no previous knowledge, no preconceived notions, no expectations, no bias…..and it’s clear as day who the devs and writers push.
This isn’t about shipping, it’s about looking at things for what they are. Now that doesn’t mean Part 3 couldn’t be heavily focused on Cloud and Tifa. But to do that after the other girl dies, and making the first 2 games primarily focused on Cloud and Aerith…..it would be extremely poor writing to try to push Cloud and Tifa now.

This song is absolutely beautiful❤ Aerith is my favorite video game character of all time, her strength, her kindness, her compassion, her wit, and her determination are what make her so beautiful. To give Aerith such a beautiful song to encompass her true feelings of her struggles and her love and hopes was so amazing to finally have, it really brought tears in my eyes for Aerith to have such a special moment. Uematsu you’ve done it again with such powerful and elegant orchestrations, Nojima your lyrics encompass her journey so beautifully, and Loren the heart you put into your performance took my breath away. I think Nojima was very careful saying the song is not about Zack or Cloud, due to a lot of hate Nojima recieved from Tifa fans (No Pun intended!) last year at Game Awards. The song clearly hints Aerith feelings for Cloud, the lyrics "Till the day, that we meet again, on our street" meaning that Aerith first met Cloud on Sector 8 Street, and another lyrics "Till the day, that we meet again at our place" meaning Aerith's Church is their place. The hints are clearly there!

Nojima wrote the song in Japanese then they had to translate the song to English. They had to create a few liberties in trying to fit the lyrics to the song.

It was a great song in the middle of the game but at the end of the game, it hits real hard.
It's brilliant, especially when the theme song is played in the ending. i will never forget aerith looking at the plane, saying "goodbye" to cloud and her friends, leaving her all alone, while the piano intro started to play, it's just added to the sadness😢

Final Fantasy VII is the first FF game I ever played, and it will always be, in my opinion, the best game ever created. The music in the original game will always be special to me. And all of the characters, especially Aeris, will always be special to me.
