Aerith's heartfelt appeal takes center stage in the theme song for FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH, the second of three installments in the FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE project, which brings the classic RPG to life once more via cutting-edge technology.
REBIRTH begins with Cloud and his companions─Barret, Tifa, Aerith, and Red XIII─leaving the metropolis of Midgar behind and pursuing the fallen hero Sephiroth.
The twists and turns of this epic adventure are marked with exhilarating fights and breathtaking views across a vast world, providing an experience unlike any other.
Lending her vocals to "No Promises to Keep" is songstress Loren Allred, best known for her electrifying performance of "Never Enough" in The Greatest Showman.
Lyrics and music were written by Kazushige Nojima and Nobuo Uematsu, respectively.
This single also includes a special rendition of the song as performed by Loren and accompanied by Nobuo's band, conTIKI.
*Note that the version of the song featured on this release differs from the one contained in the FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH Original Soundtrack and FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH Original Soundtrack ~Special Edit Version~ releasing on April 10th.

■Loren Allred
Loren Allred is a singer and songwriter who gained acclaim for her astounding vocal performance of the multi-platinum song "Never Enough" from the Oscar-nominated and Grammy award-winning "The Greatest Showman" soundtrack and film. Although she wasn't a familiar face to the public, in April 2022, Loren appeared on Britain's Got Talent, where she performed "Never Enough" and received a Golden Buzzer, sending shockwaves throughout the industry. Loren is widely regarded as one of the industry's greatest voices and has collaborated with Michael Bublé and toured globally with recording legends Andrea Bocelli and David Foster.

Nobuo Uematsu has composed for numerous blockbuster video game titles including the hugely popular game franchise, “Final Fantasy”. The theme song from Final Fantasy VIII, "Eyes On Me" written and produced by Uematsu for Hong Kong pop star Faye Wong, sold over 400,000 copies worldwide, and its record breaking sales eventually lead the song to win the “Song of the Year (Western Music)” award at the 14th Annual Japan Gold Disc Awards in 1999. 予告で聴いた時、久しぶりにFF8や9をやってた時の曲を聴きたいが為にやってた記憶というか当時の夢中でやってたFFを一瞬で思い返させてくれた歌声でした。

リバースの最後ある意味エアリス生存ルートだったね
生存して欲しい派と原作派をいい感じにまとめられてる終わり方で良かった(語彙力)
普通は「出会いは運命」なんて言うと、ロマンチックな意味になるけど、エアリスにとっての運命っていうのはポジティブなイメージがないんだろうな。
だから、「運命なんて信じたくない」し、「偶然あのかどで」また会いたいなってなるのかな。
そして約束なんかなくても幸せを続けたい。永遠を夢見るセフィロスと真逆。

The first time I heard this song in the trailer, I had a feeling it was Loren's singing. I'm glad I was right. Loren's powerful singing made me a fan since The Greatest Showman. I'm glad she's expanding her reach outside of the US.

@@julianogesteira2501日本語で本当に申し訳ないが、答えさせていただきます。まず前提として、前作の初週推定売上は約140万本(前作のパッケージ版初週売上が約70万本、前作発売当時のスクエアエニックスタイトルのパッケージ版ダウンロード版購入比率が1:1なので)、今作の初週推定売上が約80～100万本(今作のパッケージ版初週売上が約26万本、現在のスクエアエニックスタイトルのパッケージ版ダウンロード版購入比率が1:4なので125万本と思うかもしれませんが、この統計にはダウンロード版しかないタイトルも含まれているため、実際の比率はおそらく1:2から1:3の間程程度。ここに前作と今作のセットがダウンロード版限定で3分の2の値段で買えるセールがやっていたことも考えるとリバースの購入比率は1:3行ってないくらいだと考えられるため)です。なぜ今作の初週売上が前作の3分の2ほどになってしまったのかと言うと、一番大きな理由は今作が発売されたps5の普及率がps4の半分程だからです。その時点で購入を検討する人の数自体が前作の半分ということになるので、売上がそのまま半分になってもおかしくありません。そこに三部作の二作目は購入者が減ることが一般的なこと、前作が後にゲームパス(サブスク)でできるようになったことによるユーザーの購入意欲減少を考えると初週売上が50万本でも妥当と言えます。なので今作の売上が前作に比べて下がるのは至って普通、当たり前なのです。

パート2がどんなに名作でも、様々な要因があり前作を超える売り上げになることはありません。残念ですが、それがゲームのクオリティと比例しているわけではありません。
だからゲームオブザイヤーを受賞する可能性は高いです。

まとめると、売り上げの減少の理由は
①続編は半分しか売れない
②ゲームに触れる機会の減少
この二つが分かりやすい原因では無いかと思いました。
しかし、売り上げとゲームのクオリティは比例していません。間違いなくFF史上稀に見る傑作です。
パート2がゲームオブザイヤーを獲る可能性があります。
I choked up during this part in the game. Absolutely beautiful emotional song 😢 There is no other group of characters in a video game that I have cared more for than Final Fantasy VII. Glad I am still alive to have experienced Rebirth and hope to still be around for the final part.

エアリスがクラウドや仲間を守る為に、リバースではセトラの役割に殉じる道を選らんでしまったけど、22才の女の子として本当は何を望んでいたのか、何を諦めたのか。それでも心の底にある素直な気持ちや僅かな希望を、作詞作曲は勿論、ローレンさんの歌声全てで表現されていて・・・😢
今度こそエアリスに普通の幸せがありますように。。。
彼女はただ愛されることを望む少女で、恋愛すら経験していないのに運命のために命を捧げなければならなかった。彼女にもっと良い結末が訪れることを願っています。

自分はクラウドが大好きなのでインタにてローレンさんがクラウドとの関係を曲にのせてラブソングを歌ってくれたことに感謝しています。
解釈は自由なので、混雑のところのクラウドというところを（もちろん発音も意味も違います）クラウド君と解釈して聞いています。ありがとうございます！
この曲はｆｆ７の枠を超えて王道ラブソングとして伝わってくれたらいいなと思っています！
私も人混み？の歌詞の部分でクラウドって言ってるように聞こえるなぁ…と単純に思ったので、同じように感じている方がいてくれて嬉しいです！

野島さん植松さん野村さんの対談で作詞の野島さんが、恋の歌として聞いてもらってもいいが、
エアリスの気持ちを歌った曲ではあるがクラウドやザックス個人に向けて歌ったわけではなく
今まで出会った人好きな人たち（エルミナ、クラウド、ザックス、ティファ、その他大勢）
とずっと一緒に・・・ということらしい
ぜひクラティ派の方々にも購入していただきたいですね
そのように言っておくのはHollowなど、前作でも一緒なんで、大衆向けにというのはある意味決まり文句でもありますね。
歌詞の内容からするとある程度明らかではありますが、公式としては濁すという感じになるかなと。
原作もリバースも特定のカップルは作ってないよという公式のメッセージでもあります。

@PerfectEclipse I don't know if you've watched the new video with nomura uematsu and nojima but they said the song is not about a specific person. They said it's about Aerith's relationships with everyone she's met. I'm actually surprised they backtracked on her feelings for Cloud.

It was only Nojima, and he didn't say the song was not about Cloud, he only affirmed that parts of the song were about Aerith's feelings for other people.
In short, nothing has been greatly changed except that the song is not exclusively about Cloud.

He also said that despite it having love song elements, it's not really a love song, which, to me, is weird. I feel he's trying to play it safe. 野島さんの、軽い気持ちで始めたけれど本気になり、かつ楽しんで詩を書いたものの、楽しんだ分だけ寂しくなる。というコメントに涙が……😭
エアリスの大切な人たちを想う愛と友情がLOVELESSの根本的なテーマに合っていたんだなと、切なくも温かい気持ちになりました。

She can sing about everyone and how grateful she is but in her heart she is mostly singing to Cloud and wants him to understand it mostly ^^
This is an absolute masterpiece and in the same league of main themes as Eyes on Me, Melodies of Life, and Suteki Da Ne. Also Loren is a phenomenal talent. Discovered her on Britain’s got Talent as the singer of Never Enough and was really hoping she’d become huge so am really glad she was chosen to sing a ff theme song.
