Saw them in a small club in Baltimore back in the day. They blew the roof off the place. It was in the top ten of the hundreds of concerts I've seen in my 59 years. Just Incredible.
I am proud to say - I WAS THERE!!! It was a great festival this year in Roskilde with artists like Nina Hagen, The Clash, Ramones, Jason & the Scorchers and many more
Not many can claim that one. How AWESOME that must have been indeed. 💚 This is my favorite cut of this song they ever did! I actually opened for them in the mid 80:s in CA. NICEST GUYS EVER! Those were some glorious days. They still are. Thanks for sharing.
Let me tell you...I knew Warner in high school and even then he was a great musician and all around great guy. I can't say I'm at all surprised that he has been so successful in the music world. Genuinely caring person and great talent. This is one of my favorite songs. By far the best rendition of this piece I've ever heard. Rock on WH.
Basically one of the most underrated bands that came from the 80s. The guitarist should be right up there with all the other guitar gods . Garth, Chesney, Zac and a whole slew of others owe this man who broke through with this sound and let's face it did it betteri
'Caught Jason & The Scorchers w/ The Georgia Satellites at the UK Ballroom, on University of Kentucky's campus, in the mid-80's (or thereabouts). Great Show! Thanks for posting the video!
Ibwas fortunate to have seen Jason and the (Nashville) Scorchers 2x Definitely one band that I wish I had the opportunity to see more often. Living in Vancouver...the reunions were not possible My band was going to have Warner produce our 2nd album...predictably...we imploded prior to the recording
OMG ... what a stunningly wonderful cover of this fantastic Dylan song. I find music for the second half of the day (when I'm bicycle touring) and this is a must.
Truly one of the greatest bands ever. Seen them 20 times or more over the years. Hired Jason to play my birthday party solo. It was amazing to sit down and talk with him over a BBQ sandwich and then watch him play all my favorite songs. Man I want to see these guys again soon.
Hard to believe I saw these knuckleheads play to three people in my college town, circa 1982. I bought their Reckless Country Soul 7" because they needed gas money.
Our 1st opportunity for a paying gig in early 80’s was warming Up for the scorchers in Lawrence KS. They were nuclear, we wisely declined, Off the Wall Hall was never the same
Dylan not playing for any other cause than being Bob. Jason & Scorchers played for having & providing Lots of Fun Bob's good at it, but Scorchers are better
Jason & the Scorchers, along with Government Cheese, Will and the Bushmen, and Webb Wilder are the reasons why someone invented the term 'Americana' to refer to a genre of music. It had to happen because nothing in existence described The Scorchers accurately.
I heard someone say - at a Dylan show at the Fox in Atlanta {which Jason & Co had opened for} that Jason wrote this and Dylan covered it. I've heard the same thing from people actually in the music business...
Wonderful, fantastic, magnificent! "To live outside the law you must be honest" (OMG, this is sooo Dylan's). (Si hay algún argentino viendo esto, que me diga si el violero no se parece a Pappo!)
Warner is one of the best guitarist/performers to ever take a stage.
That band was called the Scorchers for a reason 🔥!
Possibly the most underrated band of the last 40 years.
I was thinking the same thing
Yep!
Saw them in a small club in Baltimore back in the day. They blew the roof off the place. It was in the top ten of the hundreds of concerts I've seen in my 59 years. Just Incredible.
Possibly, if there was such a thing as a band rating system.
They were a new sound that ppl then didnt grasp. They were the square peg in the round hole. So much talent and a great sound all their own.
these are friends ,mentors & heros of mine . This is one of the best bands ever as far as live performances, firing on all cylinders.
This is what rock music is; and this is what rock music does. PERFECT
This band and all it's members were sheer dynamite. Untouchable, NOBODY could rock n roll the way they could.
Awesome band! Their music was fast and powerful. It was like a tornado shredding up the place! I would’ve love to have been at one of their concerts.
Living in Atlanta, I've seen Jason, Warren and the band quite a few times...life changing, ne of THE greatest live bands ever
I am proud to say - I WAS THERE!!!
It was a great festival this year in Roskilde with artists like Nina Hagen, The Clash, Ramones, Jason & the Scorchers and many more
Oh man! A legendary show! You sir are a lucky, lucky, LUCKY man!
Not many can claim that one. How AWESOME that must have been indeed. 💚 This is my favorite cut of this song they ever did! I actually opened for them in the mid 80:s in CA. NICEST GUYS EVER! Those were some glorious days. They still are. Thanks for sharing.
I envy you Tony Sueco :)
Lucky
Just the Clash and the Ramones be worth the price of admission, and getting Jason & Scotches plus Nina on top.. pfew
Warner rippin' it up. JATS... one of the best unknown bands EVER!
Meet the GODS of COWPUNK!! NOBODY ever rocked harder than these guys!! Check out Warner & Dan Baird in Homemade Sin also!!
One of my favourite Dylan covers - always loved the solo, too, so it’s nice to see the guitarist’s positions for the most part.
Used to cover this song in the 80’s. Loved the band ever since.
Saw Jason solo just a couple of weeks ago. He was wonderful!
I used to skip school at the bass players house in Jr High . Go Jeff !
One of the very best Dylan covers I've ever heard, and a very good live Video, fine camera work!
Let me tell you...I knew Warner in high school and even then he was a great musician and all around great guy. I can't say I'm at all surprised that he has been so successful in the music world. Jason looks so happy to be rocking 👍😊
I have the chance to see JASON & The scorchers twice on stage in Paris. Fantastic and great show. Unforgottable !

I saw them open for Bob Dylan 1989; they performed better than Bob Dylan. Jason was all over the stage.
Hi Dag, Does your mama call you that too?
absolutely heroes since I first saw them live 1985
Love this. On their live album they suitably call this a 'fire breathing version' of Bob Dylan's Absolutely Sweet Marie.
🔥🔥🔥
I was thhere at Roskilde at 1986. Great comcert. I even bought a Jason t-'shirt 😎
Ladies and gentlemen...Warner EFFING Hodges!!
I love these guys! I miss these guys!
Jason did a stage dive at the 40 watt in 1986 and landed on me with his sweaty leather jacket. I saw them twice, they were fantastic.
'Caught Jason & The Scorchers w/ The Georgia Satellites at the UK Ballroom, on University of Kentucky's campus, in the mid-80's (or thereabouts). Great Show! Thanks for posting the video!
Awesome. I'm not worthy. [bows down]
These guys are the real deal!
He really enjoys himself n that shines right through
Jason and the Scorcher's version of 'Absolutely Sweet Marie' is so good that even Dylan has performed it in an arrangement not dissimilar to this !
Met these guys in Carbondale in the early '80s. Nice guys. High energy. Whole lotta' fun.
Best cover of 1 of my favorite Dylan tunes
The tubes in his amplifiers are cooking his tunes here so good
Not the most subtle cover of a Dylan song I've ever heard but, hey, it certainly gets the feet tapping :)
I was there. Just great
Ibwas fortunate to have seen Jason and the (Nashville) Scorchers 2x

Damn I think I remember them from 80’s MTV or something , didn’t know they rock like this woohoo !
Oh hell yeah! F'n great!
Thanks!
Definitely one of the totally underrated bands of the 80's. Guitar playing is amazing.

Hodges has another album out, also one as part of The Bluefields... Jason put one out recently as well...
@@phreshone1 yep have Jason’s. I was a contributor and got the package to have a 1 hour zoom call with him. Pretty freakin awesome.
great rendition of a great song - scorchio!
Hard to believe I saw these knuckleheads play to three people in my college town, circa 1982. I bought their Reckless Country Soul 7" because they needed gas money.
Top Notch!
Our 1st opportunity for a paying gig in early 80’s was warming
Up for the scorchers in Lawrence KS. They were nuclear, we wisely declined, Off the Wall Hall was never the same
Dylan wishes that he and his band rocked Absolutely Sweet Marie this hard. Great hard rocking' version.
I saw them open for Bob Dylan in Massachusetts in 1989... I liked them better than Dylan's performance Jason and the Scorchers stole the show..
You are right man this better than dylan, as The Byrds sing Dylan better than Dylan
Was that at the opera house?
Davi Jardim
better!? it‘s anoying
always this fucking competition
it‘s different for christ sake!
🤪this is no sport
funny man go & watch
minigolf
Dylan’s harp solo is for the ages though.
Dylan not playing for any other cause than being Bob.
Jason & Scorchers played for having & providing Lots of Fun
Bob's good at it, but Scorchers are better
happy days.....it was! ♥
Yeah
No One mixed Rock'n Roll with a cowbell that genious way
That's what I'm talking about!
And the winning nomination for Best Country Punk Metal Band of All Time is...
Great Dylan cover.
🎸
good music
Jason & the Scorchers, along with Government Cheese, Will and the Bushmen, and Webb Wilder are the reasons why someone invented the term 'Americana' to refer to a genre of music. It had to happen because nothing in existence described The Scorchers accurately.
"Americana" was pretty much invented by The Band, who were mostly from Canada. Go figure....
Really really cool
🥂🥂🥂
Great
pas le plus connu mais un des meilleurs !
ricordi...
I had no idea Jim Carrey fronted a cow-punk band in the '80s... amazing.
cowpunk legends, way too underrated
c'etait bon !
I heard someone say - at a Dylan show at the Fox in Atlanta {which Jason & Co had opened for} that Jason wrote this and Dylan covered it.
I've heard the same thing from people actually in the music business...
Yer that makes complete sense cos Jason would have been 7 years old in 1966 when Dylan recorded it!
Ajmnooo!
✨😂✨
Why not finish the song? I love it though!
popped a string at 1:00
That's Scorcherized Dylan!
Wonderful, fantastic, magnificent!
"To live outside the law you must be honest" (OMG, this is sooo Dylan's).
(Si hay algún argentino viendo esto, que me diga si el violero no se parece a Pappo!)
@1:45 "rock and roll!!!"
Link Wray by the Tellycasxter?
is warner or jason playing throught that little boogie amp
Rad
Zimmermann on steroids. Just blows me away, every time.
How in the actual fuck did they change a string that fast? Or did they have an identical guitar with the same banner and everything on it?
who manged them, steve bannon?
Ain't no dylan.
HILLARY CLINTON SPOTTED AT 1:55
Shouldn’t she be in the pizzeria basement?
Outta be in gitmo with her p3do friends and husband
Guitar player looks like Joey, plays like Tommy. Funny.
He looks like he could be Ted Nugents son????
Best Dylan cover ever. And that includes Jimi…
Jim Carrey is not a bad singer
Cowpunk love it
🎸
