Absolutely one of the best songs of the 80's and one of the best bands ever to come out of Nashville. Can't turn up the volume enough for this one...RAWK!!!
They should be in a hall of fame but sadly too many blind people failed to see this incredible band hey Jason was kick ass In you're face and true fans had a hero we wanted to be like take a bow guys you had it in spades
Love love love this album summer of 1985 in Mt Shasta.still can sing along in 2023..gosh am that old and that long ago nevervever ever.frevever young in my heart
The guitarist is amazing. Warner Hodges is his name... He plays with Dan Baird from the Georgia Satellites. I saw them in Macon GA a few years back and they blew the roof off the joint!
I've never heard that song before....and wow, your not kidding it does rock! I think this sound would have been accepted a lot more in the early nineties when alternative music was widely accepted and played on mainstream stations.
One of the hottest Bands of the late 70s-80s. And I've been chasing this particular bad boy down for 20 freakin years!! Eureka Motherf*ckers!!!! 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
How this country punk band not get it's deserved Fame and fortune pisses me off. Maybe if Metallica had the balls to cover it America would wake up to how great this song was/is. Was it country? Punk? Heavy metal? Southern rock? Ahead of it's time even today? Yes.
Yes it's cow punk which had but a few bands to fall under that banner. Lone justices soup soap salvation is another cow punk song. Anybody still reading these comments can you name some others because i cant.
Some other 80s cowpunk records E-I-E-I-O Land of Opportunity Green on Red - No Free Lunch And my absolute fave: The Beat Farmers - Tales of the New West
A little farther afield are Los Lobos, X, and don’t sleep on old Dwight Yoakam. At some point the cool kids decided he was too country but Guitars Cadillacs still holds up
Mike smith- I guess it's just us to champion slept on bands from yesterday. I have most of X's albums as they were underappreciated too. I forgot about country dick and happy boy, calif. Kid and tales of the new west. Thanks for reminding me.
What this shows is that every generation of country music is going to have a section that tries to mimic/incorporate elements of dominant popular music into country. Bro Country will pass.
Once upon a time I knew the singer's brother Jerry Ringenberg who had song writing credit for at least one of their biggest songs. I always thought that Jason and the Scorchers knew how to rock the right way.
Criminally under-rated band.
Couldn't agree more sir.
Bruce Payne - Mr. Warner E. Hodges is one of the greatest guitarist who's ever picked up a guitar. Absolutely Phenomenal.
Agreed
Awww😙
Thank you
Absolutely one of the best songs of the 80's and one of the best bands ever to come out of Nashville. Can't turn up the volume enough for this one...RAWK!!!
This song has so much energy not only can it wake the dead, they be dancing like Appalachian hillbillies to this.
Ol Jason and Warren are old line Nashville.@@stevenpatricknorton458
Yes indeed they kick like demented mules.Of course they should've been huge but Guns n Roses took all the oxygen.
one of the most kick ass bands to ever walk the earth...
This actually got airplay / MTV rotation in '85.
Cowpunk as fuck.
Where did 36 years go ? I wrote this 41 years ago !
They should be in a hall of fame but sadly too many blind people failed to see this incredible band hey Jason was kick ass In you're face and true fans had a hero we wanted to be like take a bow guys you had it in spades
I was stopped and arrested while this album was playing. 12 years later still rocks
Love love love this album summer of 1985 in Mt Shasta.still can sing along in 2023..gosh am that old and that long ago nevervever ever.frevever young in my heart
80s music!
These guys were great live 😎
Always my favorite time ❤️
One of my all-time favorites.
What a great song. The Wildhearts do a phenomenal cover of it.
Anyone else remember the legendary Brighton gig at the Richmond where they literally brought the house down and we all had to evacuate!
The guitarist is amazing. Warner Hodges is his name... He plays with Dan Baird from the Georgia Satellites. I saw them in Macon GA a few years back and they blew the roof off the joint!
These guys were the best live band around back when this came out--Scorchers indeed!
agree, them and Lone Justice !
I agree,we were on EMI/America I sure miss Perry,when I wrote this in 1978 I never dreamed this!
I played this song with perry in a band we formed in 04 called the shotgun club hank 3 on drums.. great song larry and rip perry.. much respect

Such a great song, Larry! Well done. I sure do miss the 80's and all the great music that came out of that decade.
I played the crap out of this song in my car in the day. I had the vinyl AND I bought the cassette!
Perry was such a gentle soul.....but not on the drums! R.I.P.
@@shanecrowe5955 I miss him
I saw this band 35 years ago and never forgot them ,saw an article in a London paper about them ,,so enjoying great music from my youth
This song and album is classic one of the best ever.
Saw them at First Avenue in Minneapolis as the opening band for Georgia Satellites and became a fan instantly, this video is funny and awesome
saw them live at the Univ. SC back in the 80's. Still one of my favorite bands.
Saw these guys in Vienna, Austria in what must have been around 85-86. Helluva show, and real chill guys afterwards.
All hail Jason and the Scorchers!
I've never heard that song before....and wow, your not kidding it does rock! I think this sound would have been accepted a lot more in the early nineties when alternative music was widely accepted and played on mainstream stations.

Loved this song since my very first hearing
Such a fantastic track 👍👍👍
Hard to believe these guys aren't household names all over the world.
They are in my world. Still have my copy of Fervor.
They are in my House
Pure country new wave
One of the hottest Bands of the late 70s-80s.
And I've been chasing this particular bad boy down for 20 freakin years!!
Eureka Motherf*ckers!!!!
🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
100% Badass. Warner Hodges is a fuckin TITAN.
This is the link that ties Hank Williams to The Clash. Cooler Than Grits!
cowpunk forever
yea, I just re-remembered !
Absolutely love this and always will x
Huge Fan. Those guys just rip.
Habe das Video 1988 das erste mal gesehen.
Tolle Band
The cowpunk shot fired around the world
Fuckin phenomenal track hampered by ridiculous video
I guess it was the eighties
Rock n roll as it should be
Jason and the Scorchers invented Alt Country...
I just wish they came out in the 70s and not have the typical 80’s drum sound.
Boy did i love that .
Back in the 80s I compared them to Georgia satellites
And look where Warner is
A real unknown hit
Best unknown track
Agree
bye bye hope!
I just came here for that. Pretty amazing that I've been listening to this song off and on for almost 33 years and I just finally saw the video.
No se si ya comente. Pero esto esta ge ial
Edit: genial*

Real RaK nRoL 🖖❤🎸❤👍
Whose dentist ever lied to them?
RIP Perry
You sound like an anti-dentite.
sounds like an Alt-Country Replacements song.
Ringenberg, you Porter Waggoner acting so-and-so.
I can tell.....
the singer sounds very similar to george thorogood
Cowpunk essential

Maybe you have a point. But this track has something too.
@rickydoverjr brought me here
