Mr E Hope I’ll pass on my second attempt, I failed the first time cuz I was nervous about my speed and didn’t check my blind spots on a left center turn lane and several bike lanes.
Passed my test first try, you guys need to understand a lot of driving is about confidence more so than anything. A lot of you are probably better drivers than you think, they say you can get 30% better at a task just from watching and I'm sure you've been watching people drive for the past 16 or so years so all you need to do is apply that knowledge after you get the feel for the car (acceleration, braking, steering) and pair that with confidence you should be fine.
Also steering is not just using the wheel to turn, its a balance between the wheel and the accelerator. In an empty parking lot, take a turn then let go and hit the gas and watch how the wheel moves(obv dont do this on the test) but use that to your advantage to perform smooth turns, but on the test if you do it make sure both hands stay on the wheel and kind of try to guide it back with your hands or at least make it look like you are.
Literally if you want to pass your test, pretend your having a usual day, like you want to get it over with. You should have an “eh” attitude. Keep a straight face and pretend like it’s easy and you don’t care. If you do this, you will convince yourself that it’s easy and nothing complicated, this way you won’t stress and overthink it. Hope this helps :) Also, my test day is 4/16/20 at 2 in the afternoon. Not really nervous because you just practice everything on the test, pretend your house is the dmv, ask your parents to inspect the vehicle and show them you know where everything is, then ask them to really test you when you get on the road, ask them to tell you where to go so you don’t know where your going. Then practice backing up at least 100 ft at a slow walking pace. Then practice signaling, dramatically looking over shoulder and mirrors, then turning into another lane, and REMEMBER, if there is a bike lane where your turning, enter it at least 100ft before the turn, then go. Doing this will both show the instructor you know how to properly use a bike lane and it will ensure your turn isn’t wide and you will end in the correct lane. Practice these will make the test so much easier and you will already know what to do. Hope this helps and good luck to all of you guys! I’ll keep you guys updated if I pass Update: I passed! My bad for 1 year late response lol. It was really easy, the instructor was nice and calm, and the whole thing was a breeze. Good luck to everyone trying to get their license!
Study study study...... theres no need to overstress about your driving test.. i took my test in downtown san francisco which was really busy and all i did was just stay calm and remember all the methods such as stopping properly and using my head alot to look around. Just be calm everything will be alright. Do not overthink it just stay patient and calm
I've been driving for 54 yrs and have taught 15 kids how to drive. I'm currently teaching my 18 yr old granddaughter to drive. She has ADHD and has not become successful in spite of over 50 hrs of behind the wheel instruction.. I have had her watching these videos for the past week. She is now for the 1st time on track to becoming a Safe Defensive Driver. ..Thanks for putting the videos out...
I’ve got a road test tomorrow and I’m super nervous. Been watching videos for a few hours but this one was super nice and helpful. Hopefully this helps me pass! Updated: I passed!
I have my test July 20, this is gonna be my 2nd time taking the test D: But I been driving and feeling way more confident than I was back when I took my 1st test. Good luck to anyone who takes theirs soon ! Update: I passed with 0 errors!
The craziest thing is I got my license last week. But before that I was looking for this type of video but could not find one at all. Who ever is taking there test coming up good luck and just be calm 💯👍🏽.
I took my test back in early 2016 and my test was not nearly as hard as the ones I see now. I’m so glad lol. I learned all the stuff in the control skills section after I passed my test the only thing I did have to do during my test was the Y turn ( three point turn) and obviously forward parking.
Makes me feel good listening to this examiner, I'm teaching my son to drive and we've had these same conversations, center turn lane, avoiding an accident with minimal injury. These videos are helping me to make sure we've covered all this important stuff.
I passed my road test today here in Edmonton. ✌️ I wish you all the best anyone who is trying to get a driver's licence and believe me you got it this time giving up is not an option
Just had my tesr today in Newark NJ, Surprisingly didn't even leave the parking lot, just parallel parked between cones and turned out the spot...Passed

Just wanted to say this channel, and specifically this video, was a huge help in passing my test with ease earlier today. The instructor actually said, "perfect, great job" at the end with no additional comments or feedback for improvement. Study the videos on this channel and you should be fine as far as passing, even if you make one or two minor errors. Just as it's been mentioned, key points are to do everything 'smoothly' - braking, changing lanes, making turns, etc., Make sure to always use your signal. Love the SMOG acronym which kinda played in my head during the test---Signal, Mirrors, Over the shoulder, and Go. Also, be kinda obvious in checking your mirrors, over the shoulder, etc. Just about everything you need to know is in this video.
Hello Marc, thank you for the kind words. Congratulations on your test. These videos help with the understanding of what to expect but practice is the key. Clearly you have practiced and did a great job demonstrating safe driving. Congratulations again!
I passed my test last week and still see these videos cause I watched so many, yeah😂 I was so nervous!! My biggest tip for people taking the test in Upstate NY is to be super aware, look at all your mirrors often, and over your shoulder when necessary. Also - Practice parallel parking a lot. I had to park behind a minivan in my test and I felt comfortable because I practiced parallel parking behind tons of cars, but if you haven’t, make sure you consider it
I’m taking my test tomorrow for the 3rd time! Please wish me luck everyone😭🤞 first time I didn’t pass bc I was too slow and second time was because I stopped at a green right turn.. I have been practicing correcting my errors and binge watching this channels content! I will update you all 🥹
I passed my permit test and driver’s test the first time! The only thing I lost points on was not putting on my right turn signal when pulling out but other than that, it went pretty smoothly! I went to a driving school for my test and it was really good! I think you guys will be fine!! Even if you don’t pass the first or even the second time, hang in there and try again!!
Great job! I'll be nineteen March 27th and I'm finally working hard on getting my license. I have my permit that I got last summer and I just had to take the computer test for that. I have my mom's old car that I got for my birthday last year and I'm trying to get it running because it's been sitting for around four years, then I may do my test in it after it's road legal.
finally taking my test in 3 days. this whole thing has been stressful but im finally glad its going to be over bc im gonna pass first try. manifesting it baby

This test is literally in my city! I never thought I’d see one of these on your channel but I have mine today in a couple hours at a different location that this one. This area of town is usually extremely busy. The mall is over there and there’s a lot of businesses so this kid did a good job, I’m just glad I don’t have to do it on this side of town. I hope I pass! Wish me luck
Good Luck to everyone!!! Don’t be nervous I was a nervous wreck myself when I took my test. One thing if I can tell myself before I did my test is have a good night sleep, don’t over watch and over think of the test that you gonna have the next day, take deep breath, stay calm, and asked and repeat after if you feel you don’t understand. Wish everyone luck.
Guys I’m 18 goin on 19 and I’m taking my road test tomorrow (Sat) at 11:40 AM. I’m a beyond afraid even though I know everything, I’m most afraid of parallel parking hope it goes well🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 Edit: I Passed!!!!💯💯
When I took my test 11 years ago my examiner marked me down for not looking left and right at a railroad crossing. When he asked me why didn't I look left and right I said because I know no train is going to be coming on this railroad because it's a defunct railroad line that has a building built over top of it 200 feet to our left. He said that's true but you still have to look. I just said, "fair enough" and moved on. He also asked me the head on collision question while I was on the freeway with baron land to my sides. I remember saying, well technically in this situation there's nothing to sideswipe sooo . . . he marked me down a point for not specifically saying sideswiping a bush because that's what it says in the manual. I still easily passed as those were my only two marked downs but I still can't help but think that common sense needs to override the "book".
i have my test on monday but i drive a truck! any advice? i also had one too many mental breakdowns over parallel parking, but we figured it out 😂 update: I PASSED!! guys don’t stress!! it’s easier than u think ❤️ these vids helped fo shooo
4 times ? At this point the DMV should put you on a blacklist. That’s like a cop failing the firearm test 4 times, that’s a disaster waiting to happen. What would make you pass it on your 5th time ? You couldn’t learn that in your 2nd, 3rd and 4th try ?
i am returning to learning to drive after a year. i am confident and have made amazing progress. i wish the luck to all of you and you’re not alone if you have anxiety.
I watched & listened to this video 3 times. I had my first ever driving test today........& I PASSED!!! Oh and by the way I’M A WOMAN. So don’t let any sexist person tell you women can’t drive💁🏾♀️ One piece of advice the instructor gave me is to not hook the wheel when you’re making turns. In case you get in an accident you can really hurt your arm! He had a friend who drove that way and was in an accident that caused them to have a year of surgeries and 9 metal plates in their arm! Yikes! Take deep breaths! You got this!
The train track part surprised the heck out of me(23:54). I drive slower when crossing the tracks not because I'm looking for the train. Obviously, it's because some tracks are very bumpy..... Also how can the person in back of you not expecting you to slow down. I mean they technically supposed to stay their legal distance away from the car in front of them, and they see your brake lights on.
I'm getting my learner's permit in mid August, and I've only been at 2 sessions with my dad, but I'm thinking about the future. I don't know why I'm anxious. Congrats on passing, though.
Looking at this video and I’m already overwhelmed it feels like so many things to keep track of I’ve taken two driving lessons so far and I’m dreading the test It feels so stressful and I’m afraid I’ll forget certain things I’m in California
Don't worry. California tests are much easier than these ones depending on where you live. If you're taking it in a city or a well populated area it will tend to be stricter but in lesser populated cities or towns its going to be much easier.
I wasn’t even told to parallel park, no vehicle inspection, no basic skills, no 3 point turn. Just regular driving on small roads. I had a easy ass test and still only passed by 1 point
This video helps me but.... I'm a very cautious driver I am so nervous and worried I hope tomorrow on 9/11 I hear those little but big words... You passed. It took me 19 years to take my test the big day is tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 Thank you for this video. Good luck and safe driving everyone!!
Unfortunately, I'm going to be driving in the state of Utah (at the age of 69), which according to an article I read in the Deseret News this morning (8-22-20) statistically, has the worse drivers in the nation. This video gave me a great deal of confidence. For some bizarre reason it hadn't occurred to me to practice the actual maneuvers in a parking lot. I'm one to three blocks away from at least three chapels with huge parking areas which are ideal. The lots are mostly empty on weekdays. I'll continue to watch this video everyday until the fateful hour.
I've already had my license for about seven years but I'm watching these to see if there's things I could do better :) Also, can't stress defensive driving enough. You might be totally doing what you're supposed to but some jerkface isn't and nearly (or does) causes and accident. Always be aware of where other drivers are at and preempt things like a driver running a light if they're moving fast or pulling out suddenly in front of you.
Do don’t blame the driver for not seeing the turn lane at 11:52, then lines were so pale and faded. And that brig strip of cracks completely erased the line halfway.
Guy’s make sure you go exactly the speed limit nothing over or under I just took my test in Michigan and I was going 60 in a 55 and they instantly failed me so watch out for that.
I live in Kentucky so of course some states like California do things differently. They didn't ask me to turn on/off defroster or hand signals or headlights. They did however ask me to turn on windshield wipers and emergency lights though along with turn signals and honking. That was it for the pre drive test. As for the actual test, I just drove around a neighborhood and for the parallel parking, I just pulled up next to a car and parked behind it. I didn't have to park in between 2 cars nor did they use cones. They then asked me that if I parked on a hill what would I do? I told her "uphill you turn the wheels to the left and downhill you turn them towards the curb" The driving examiner did however talk to me about various things like if I went to college stuff like that (Idk if it was just to be friendly or if it was to test me being able to conversate while drive but I digress). It was roughly 10 minutes long and after the test, I was surprised that it was that easy and thought to myself "No wonder there's so many drivers! They basically hand them out like candy!" Lmao!
@@e313speaknow Yes you have to do a 3 point turn. When I took mine in Bowling Green KY, she basically just told me to pull over on the side of some dead end road and told me to do it. That was actually one of the only things I messed up on. I thought I did it ok but my lenient examiner said that "I could've maneuvered it better" but then again, I never practiced that maneuver prior to the road test. I just watched a video online prior to the test and that was it. I wouldn't worry too much about that maneuver though. Of course, practice it but don't stress on possibly messing that part of the test up to where you think you'll fail the whole test. At the very worst, it's a point off.
@@dishsoapsushi4957 oh ok thank you. i’ve been confused about this maneuver. does it look like in the ky manual where you pull to the side of the road, back up into a road or a spot, and exit left? cause some videos online are different than the photo in our state manual so idk which to practice
hey everyone, had my drivers test today and i passed. just know to keep your mind off the test till you are there so you can keep the nerves away. make sure when you’re driving for the whole week prior that you drive like it’s a test and do lots of shoulder checks even if it’s unnecessary. Good luck everyone!
Passed my first try in Ohio and never even practiced. The only tricky part was the maneuverability test going forward and reversing through the cones in the “S” shape. I knicked a cone but didn’t flatten it or knock it over so I still passed. Don’t forget blinker even when going thru cones. Due to covid they don’t even get in the car. The examiner stands out and watches. My girl was my licensed driver and they aren’t supposed to talk or help. Or they automatically fail you. She mumbled when I got too close or something under her mask. Windows up lol he didn’t hear or see mouth movement. Just relax guys and breathe. Get some good rest. You guys got this
I’ve been driving for over 20 years. I lost my license about a year and a half ago because of...reasons. I’m not taking any chances and studying up on this. I think it might be easy for an experience driver to be cocky and overlook a lot of basic stuff we take for granted. Not making that mistake!
vary crazy mine was only 12 or 13 min with no parking or backup on one lane roads lol and after i realized i probably could have passed with out learning anything just with basic knowledge i was way more stressed then i needed to be. anyone half smart and PERCEPTIVE will pass easily
I passed my test a few months ago and I’m so glad that’s over now, pretty stressful hang in there guys you’ll get it.
Also I failed the first time lol but passed the second

Good Luck to everyone!!! Don’t be nervous I was a nervous wreck myself when I took my test. One thing if I can tell myself before I did my test is have a good night sleep, don’t over watch and over think of the test that you gonna have the next day, take deep breath, stay calm, and asked and repeat after if you feel you don’t understand. Wish everyone luck.
Guys I’m 18 goin on 19 and I’m taking my road test tomorrow (Sat) at 11:40 AM. I’m a beyond afraid even though I know everything, I’m most afraid of parallel parking hope it goes well🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Edit: I Passed!!!!💯💯
I take mine tomorrow as well man. Best of luck to both of us bro!
You got this
When I took my test 11 years ago my examiner marked me down for not looking left and right at a railroad crossing.
Damn, what a well organized video. Helped me learn things to practice and remember. Amazingly well made.
thanks for watching - practice practice practice! Good luck!
I'm nervous taking mines but I think dis gonna help me out.Imma go next week wish me Luck
Taking my test in 3 hrs😭 update i passed!!!

I’m taking my test tomorrow morning at 9:30 and I’m in Michigan. I’m so nervous so wish me luck!
good luck! and mine is one next Monday
Good luck! I also live in Michigan and I have my driver's test on Saturday!
I passed!! It really wasn’t that bad since I practiced driving around the area a bunch, but just hang in there and you’ll do great!
Good luck! Mine is this Saturday also in Michigan. I'll be in Jackson.
Mines on Monday at 1. Good luck!
Just passed mine today🤙
I took this road test 4 times I couldn’t pass it but I believe I will get it this time in the Mighty Name of Jesus 🙏🏾
How much times can u take it in a year?
4 times ? At this point the DMV should put you on a blacklist.
That’s like a cop failing the firearm test 4 times, that’s a disaster waiting to happen.
What would make you pass it on your 5th time ? You couldn’t learn that in your 2nd, 3rd and 4th try ?
I'm taking mine next week and I'm so nervous! I know I'm a good driver but I'm worried they'll fail me over something small or dumb
Goodluck, you'll pass this.
Taking mine in two days and I feel weirdly confident but still nervous lol update I passed
Great helpful video, best one I’ve seen I’ll be taking my driving test soon and this has a lot of great tips
good luck!!
Glad it was helpful! You Got This!!
i am returning to learning to drive after a year. i am confident and have made amazing progress. i wish the luck to all of you and you’re not alone if you have anxiety.
Congratulations!!
Road Test Success Thank you!!!🚐
I signed up for driving lessons and will be taking the test with them Aug 6th and 8th🤸🏽🤞🏽 wish me luck
Did u paas
My test is tomorrow and I have bad anxiety. I could use some encouragement and tips if you could
No need to stress. You've got this!
I have my test today. Feeling pretty good
Good luck!
Road Test Success I PASSED. Thanks for the encouragement and support
Thanks so much, I will use these skills for my test
Best of luck!
My test is today in a few hours in GA... I'm actually really nervous and I truly hope I pass
Edit: I passed!
Good luck!
let us know how it goes! good luck
Soooo.... did you pass?!
Did you pass?
Just passed today with only 1 point off it’s very easy but, remember to breathe and stay calm and just think positive!
taking my test in a couple hours. I passed
Good luck 🍀👍🏽
Western Ave. Baptist Church
🐐
how was it?
@@lulawong5586 Western Ave Baptist Church in Cambridge Massachusetts is wonderful
I had thought my test was on next Friday.....turns out its tomorrow, hopefully these videos help
Thank you so much for this video. I don’t know how to parallel park and am eager for my test. I’m gonna practice this method and see if it works.
im so nervous i can drive i just hate someone watching me while i drive hope i pass my test this video is gonna be my bible until than
how’d you do?
Ya pass?
I wasn’t even told to parallel park, no vehicle inspection, no basic skills, no 3 point turn. Just regular driving on small roads. I had a easy ass test and still only passed by 1 point
Which state?
Damn you suck at driving lol
This video helps me but.... I'm a very cautious driver I am so nervous and worried I hope tomorrow on 9/11 I hear those little but big words... You passed. It took me 19 years to take my test the big day is tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 Thank you for this video. Good luck and safe driving everyone!!
Mine is tomorrow too! I’m so nervous
@@savannahnatalya9876
I'm sending you wishes good luck tomorrow let me know how you did.🤞🤞
Lorah Smith same goes for you!! Best of luck to us both
Good luck.. both of you..
You can do this!! Sending calm vibes!
Good plan Lana - Check our channel for more helpful videos. We believe in you!!
And that brig strip of cracks completely erased the line halfway.
that's Michigan for you lol
Have mine tomorrow and I feel GREAT!
Me too at 10 am! Pretty nervous but confident!
Best of luck!
You failed ?
how'd you do
Guy’s make sure you go exactly the speed limit nothing over or under I just took my test in Michigan and I was going 60 in a 55 and they instantly failed me so watch out for that.
I like the SMOG thing.. thanks for making this video
Thanks for watching!!
I just passed my test today ya'll I'm telling you now the drivers test is easier than any driving school
They basically hand them out like candy!" Lmao!
what county?
@@kodywhite3478 I took mine in Warren county
i have my test soon in ky. no 3 point turn?
I just passed first try in Ohio. This video probably helped me the most out of all of them but you still need to practice a lot!
hey everyone, had my drivers test today and i passed. just know to keep your mind off the test till you are there so you can keep the nerves away. make sure when you’re driving for the whole week prior that you drive like it’s a test and do lots of shoulder checks even if it’s unnecessary. Good luck everyone!
Great job!
This is a great instruction and clearly explained with good details,
I would say this examiner is really good and gives some advices to the learner driving during the test. That is to build trust!
Just passed my road test, and I have a license!!! woop woop!!!
Nice job congratulations
My test is in 5 hours..wish me luck! Edit: I passed by the skin of my teeth (NY).
GOODLUCK BRO and let me know how it go mine is in 3 hours
@@Isockay How'd you do?
Thomas Pris I’m glad you passed! I passed aswell surprisingly I had a nice chill examiner so I wasn’t nervous at all
Passed my first try in Ohio and never even practiced. You guys got this
Petry 740 wym never practiced like u never driven before or?
3Hunnid lol no I mean like I never practiced the test. Should have been less vague on the details. I been driving for years fam 🤣😎
I’ve been driving for over 20 years. I lost my license about a year and a half ago because of...reasons. I’m not taking any chances and studying up on this. I think it might be easy for an experience driver to be cocky and overlook a lot of basic stuff we take for granted. Not making that mistake!
Taking mines tomorrow!! Cant wait & I’m a bit nervous but I got it🤗 I’ll update
this is crazy. my test lasted 5 minutes and all they asked was to make 2 lefts and 4 rights then park...
vary crazy mine was only 12 or 13 min with no parking or backup on one lane roads lol and after i realized i probably could have passed with out learning anything just with basic knowledge i was way more stressed then i needed to be. anyone half smart and PERCEPTIVE will pass easily
@Rohypnol California, perhaps.
Wittle Kitten thats crazy i thought California was crazu strict do to ther traffic and accidents
Rohypnol Tennessee actually.
