Question. I've been teaching my friend that it is ok to drive 5 under the speed limit to be safe. Can she do this on the actual test?

@@jacegallagher8589 you should try going the speed limit only go under if the weather is bad and you don’t feel safe driving the speed limit but you should always drive the speed limit. 2-3 under or over is okay

Okay! That’s fine, she passed but how dumb is the bike lane/right turn thing. The solid white line has always meant “do not cross the line”…why didn’t they come up with a different road marker? Angled slashes or swirly pink cupcakes…SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN A SOLID WHITE LINE!!!

I took my driving test on the 23rd and I passed it. I was really nervous and that's totally normal just make sure to stay focus. As long as you follow the speed limits, don't forget to put your signals on/off, remember to check your blindspots before changing lane, stop before the pedestrian lane and move forward slowly to see incoming cars, don't get too close to the car in front of you, and always check your surroundings then you should be fine.

I just passed mine a week ago and a tip would be to check ur mirrors and blind spots every once and awhile and to try to calm yourself to not let nerves take over
took my test today and failed, the instructor made me so nervous, for some reason he made me drive with the windows down and I was using my friends car and while driving some papers my friend had in the back started flying because all the windows were down except for mine and it was really windy and he yelled "GRAB THOSE PAPERS" and the worst part is it was right at the beginning and it just threw me off :( super upsetting, but hopefully I pass the next time. Also, one piece of advice I can give you guys that I wish I knew beforehand is, DO NOT tell a lot of people you are going to take the test, the less people that know the better. That way you don't feel the need to please them and when you are going to take the test all you think is 'if I fail I have to tell all these people that I failed' that was one of my biggest mistakes, I let to many people know and I was nervous the whole time because I knew if I failed I was gonna have to tell all of them that I failed. So try and keep it a secret. I'm really nervous for my test but hopefully I pass! UPDATE : I PASSED :)

@@wheresmydrink4552 you got this man! trust me my anxiety wouldn’t let me touch the steering wheel at one point lol I would practice often maybe everyday for a short amount of time tbh . It also helps to practice around the dmv your going to take the test in !

@@wheresmydrink4552 I failed my permit test I'm not sure how many times. Once or twice. ? but after taking a class at a driving school to be able to retake the permit test unlimited times. I finally passed the first time ! I didn't need unlimited times! Just go over that pamphlet and learn those signs!! Repetition is key!! I did it all on my own. But if you can have help do that too
I failed my test because of one hidden stop sign! There was 3 signs in front of it and my instructor was coughing. In my mind I was like *I wonder if he needs water I have a bottle in here* after the test he informed me he was trying to warn me of the sign when in reality he was distracting me. Anyways I have a test tomorrow I’ll update

That's literally the NYC road test, but in a Brooklyn neighnorhood. A few turns, 3-point u-turn, parallel parking, pull over and you're done.
I ended up getting my license 2 days ago. just remember to stay calm and don't think too much about the test. just drive safely and obey all rules. If you end up failing, that's okay , it's a learning experience.
Every road test is different . Some won’t even ask you questions , some will take you to the highway , some will just take your Around a neighborhood , others are more strict , and some are more chill . You just don’t know how yours is going to be.

When I took my test, driver instructor told me to get out after I paralleled parked the second time (first time was more than 6 inches from curb) , and then she told me to get out. I was unbuckling my seatbelt and about to open the door to "get out" but she meant get out of the parallel parking spot and move my vehicle up ahead ://////////// was nervous but passed ez claps.

When I took my first road test, everything was going good and I had a full conversation with my instructor about this nice car I was driving next too. When we made it back, I felt so confident until the instructor told me I failed the test. Turns out, I didnt even notice I hit a curb and ran 2 stop signs ultimately failing me. 2 more tests later and i got my license.
i passed my road test two days ago with a perfect score and wanted to share some tips that really helped me out. stay calm, show some confidence, focus on the task at hand, take your time and initiate some small talk with your examiner to leave a good impression if you're comfortable with that (like in this video). i cried for several days before my road test from the build up of anxiety so if i can do it, you can to (ka-chow lol)

I double this advice. Leading up to the test the anxiety gets real, but I went in with a mindset of stay calm and cool. When the examiner got in my passenger seat he asked me two things, are you nervous, and any questions. I said no, and the anxiety I felt disappeared that instant. The test really is a character exercise to push yourself out of that comfort zone and get the job done with confidence, IMO.

@hopevity you could do the pre vehicle inspection at your house it's pretty easy. We'll for me atleast I didn't even need to get out of the car so I didn't need to buckle up again lol but you have to make sure the instructor does before you do anything. And if you're still worried about hitting curbs just practice alot more and you'll feel comfortable I was the same way

Sure the law states 200 feet but the line is still solid before the dashed zone. In ALL demonstration videos given by the dmv, the car enters the bike lane solely at the dashed section

Just had mine 2 hours ago, I was so insanely nervous but passed. Remember to not do rolling stops and check mirrors more than you think you'd have to.
My test is tomorrow at 2:30 pm I’m not full on having a anxiety attack but I will say I just tryna make sure I prepare for everything I don’t want a small mistake like what she did to cause me to fail my drivers test. So best of wishes to everybody who is having their drivers test soon we will all pass one way or another. If anybody has any advice on what to prepare for and what to remember I will enjoy to hear anything you have to offer.

Hey girl. Mine was honestly so easy. Passed with 0 errors. I promise as long as you don’t do any of the critical errors and you do traffic checks, you’ll be good. That’s assuming you’ve been practicing driving😂 but don’t stress. I feel like if I stressed more, I would’ve failed from psyching myself out

I passed mine last week it was so easy just be calm and carefully listen to the instructor
I was lucky to have the coolest and calm black guy, it was like getting a test proctored by Eddie Murphy. He was the best.
Even though I already passed my test I keep coming back to this, cause I thought I failed for sure and did terrible but I only got one error. Everyone should know it’s not as bad as it seems. It really helps to have a kind instructor who is patient and not too critical.

i took my test last week in CA and passed, but don’t expect your examiner to be this nice! mine did not warn me about speed limits, nor did they hold a conversation with me. i drove in silence, which only broke when they gave me instructions. additionally, im not sure if this only applies to my local DMV, but try not to schedule an appointment right before their lunch break haha. this is a very nice examiner :)
take a deep breath and get practice! definitely get familiar with the area around the place you are testing! good luck, you’re going to do great!
I failed my test the first time because i barely touched the cone when pulling out of the parallel park, second time went near perfect! Just keep your head screwed on straight, and remember if you don’t pass the first or even second time it’s not the end of the world.

That’s the type of examiner everyone should get he is basically telling you everything the speed limits which a big thing or maybe coz it’s a girl he is trying to be friendly idk well I had such an a hole the first time even thou I gave right of way he still said no not enough I check the blind spots he said you check but it’s not good when I was going about 48 on a 50 zone he ask me to speed up he was like that but second time I pass it was such a nice girl so friendly and lastly your best bet is you get a young girl like in 30s or someone African or carribean
It's like he's helping her more than testing her. I hope my instructor is this helpful
Right! My first test I failed because my instructor was really tough on me, told me he is not there to teach me how to drive, only to see if I can. I wish my second test will be this laid back helpful

Just passed my road test last week. As long as you stay focused and confident to what the Instructor tells you to do, you will pass.
She did really well. That’s a weird rule Ca has regarding bike lanes too.

Don’t be… I’m 25 and I was using drugs as a teenager to 20 years old. I’m clean with two kids. And my road test is March 27th this month! I failed permit 2 times. And I think I got the driving down pact!
