Just passed! Here’s the things I wish someone would’ve told me: 1) Don’t overthink it, the tester can tell when you’re driving nervously and you might make careless mistakes. Take a deep breath, if you’re taking it you are most likely prepared. 2) Make sure you make it clear that you’re doing traffic checks when you go through an intersection, I thought I was doing that but I got a few points marked off so make it obvious.3) Make sure you have ALL the documents you need, it is such a headache to figure out if you don’t. 4) Look out for speed limit signs and follow them the best you can. 5) Make sure you make complete stops behind the limit lines at stop signs and red lights. 6) Brake slowly and gradually, not. abruptly! Don’t stop too close to the car ahead of you as well. 7) Look online at a rubric for your state, and understand the critical mistakes to avoid. 8) Check your blind spots, really exaggerate this. 9) They’ll test your lane changes a couple times. SMOG, signal, mirrors, over the shoulder, go! 10) Understand your right of way at intersections. ... take a deep breath before you go and head in with confidence... passing on my goodluck to you guys you’ve got it
@@ericawootten13 Good luck. Just focus on driving. And pay attention to the directions. And maybe ask to be more specific. If needed. And did a dangerous maneuver. And obviously failed. I misunderstood his directions
Just passed my driving test yesterday with only three minor errors. And my advice is: don’t let your stress take over you when you take the test. It only lasts a few minutes and having high confidence. You got this and I believe in you all that are either taking the test today, already took it and either passed or failed, or are going to take it in the near future.

Ik I was like he should got a ton of points taken off right from the start. Also he didn’t make him do parallel parking and parking in reverse so he got lucky.
Took my test yesterday and passed ☺️ TIPS: Most of your points come from (checking your mirrors , blind spots, obey traffic rules , steady speed , using signal, and scanning constantly ) if you do all of these constantly YOU WILL PASS !!! Things that will give you an AUTOMATIC FAIL ( Rolling stop signs , speeding , run red light , not giving pedestrians right of way if the are crossing, overall dangerous driving, not staying in your lane )
@@kassyher good luck. I failed my first time due to my instructor being the most strict, angry, uncomfortable person ever, yet my driving was almost perfect (as said by my second instructor). Some instructors will mark you for as many things as they can, even if they are slight which is totally evil. My second instructor was the nicest lady ever and I knew she wanted me to pass. Passed with a perfect score no faults. You got this! Make the instructor feel like a human and try talking with them, talk enough but not too much that you are not letting them instruct you. Making you and the instructor calm and turning a test into a casual weekday drive is the best thing you can ever do. You got this
i commented on this video the day that i failed my test for the first time. i ended up failing it twice, and was only able to pass after a third time. it was frustrating, because i was a fully competent driver, but my test anxiety made it so that i would make too many small errors to pass. anyway, i have my license now... and i'm commenting this for any other incredibly anxious people that may come across this: you can do it!
Thank you! I just came from another country and bought my car here, I am preparing to take my driver license and I'm rly anxious. Your comment will help me a lot in the future!!!
I just failed mine the second time. Been driving constantly for over 2 months; freeway and all, but for some reason I haven’t been able to pass to save my life. I know we(as humans) usually point out what we do right and not what we do wrong, but I am certain I drive better than many drivers on the road and obey road signs, speed limits and all.... I see with my eyes everyday....It is what it is, I suppose!
I took mine yesterday, at 2:20 pm, prior to that I was binge watching these like crazy. On the drive to the DMV I was beyond nervous and wanted to cry more and more as we got closer, but I took the test anyways and I passed! First try too!! So to anyone reading this on their way to take the behind the wheel test,, you got this, just listen to the instructors directions and use your driving knowledge! Good luck :)
@@Sycfinn The most super helpful thing I can recommend is to practice everyday even if its practicing on parking or just a drive down the block. You want to be familiar with the car you'll be using for the test, so also know your where your emergency buttons, lights, and so forth are (including hand signals). I live in a small town within CA, therefore my test was fairly simple, couple of blocks with plenty of right n left turns. Chances are the test will be on streets near the DMV building, meaning testing may not be long, 10 min or smth. Anywho, don't worry too much focus that energy into getting familiar with your car and roads. Even if you fail the first try theres no shame just keep doing it until you pass. I send my best of luck to you!
I got my license today!!! I failed the test twice so don’t feel alarmed if you fail. I am 22 years old and my relationship with my family is really bad but I am proud of myself and everyone else who got there license!
To: Everyone who’s taking their test soon. Don’t worry you got this! It’s a little nerve wracking at first but once you start driving the nerves go away. Also don’t forget to put turn signals on at all times when doing a turn and don’t go over the speed limit.
I passed but almost failed. Don’t go too slow, follow the flow of the traffic. Always look behind your shoulder before turning and stop before the line, never over it. My DMV officer, Claudia, was the worst. Sometimes you get bad people with terrible manners like hers but you have to remain calm.
Honestly that’s what I’m nervous about for when I eventually do the driving test. Having a strict, nasty instructor will probably intimidate me so much lool hopefully I get a guy like the video.
Coming from someone who was extremely nervous and feeling like 99% sure i’d fail, you’ll pass with flying color it’s going to be okay i was so nervous and i passed the first time, listen to everything the instructor says and simply follow the directions and you’ll be just fine, the written test i also passed first time with 1 question wrong.
Im just sitting here reading yall comments. I hope that everyone who has to take theirs soon will pass on the first try , you got this! And for those that made a few errors the first try (aka me) practice what they said you didn’t do so well on , feel confident in it and go back! I took mine today but I’m going back tomorrow for a redo. We got this guys. :)
Trevor Lite don’t quote me on this but the dmv I went to (I live in Illinois about two hours from Chicago) they let me go back the very next day. According to the instructor I failed the first time because I didn’t satisfy her Instructions fully. I recommend to not ask questions on what they tell you to do just do it. That was a fault of mine that I did. It made me look like I didn’t know what I was doing. But yeah they let me go back the next day. (I failed the second time too) they told me I need more practice behind the wheel so that’s exactly what I plan to do. He said there’s no certain time limit as to when I should go back so I plan to practice and go back soon. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have questions or have any tips lol. We’re all in this together
After watching your video, it gave me more confidence. I finally took the exam yesterday for the first time and I passed! Will never forget her words, “Stay here in your car, someone will come out and give you your temporary license.”
For all of y’all who have really bad anxiety and are petrified about taking the test! I was so anxious and nervous that I thought my nerves would mess me up and I wouldn’t pass but I was wrong, I passed!! There is no reason to be scared, it’s super easy! Just breathe and remember it’s not the end of the world if you don’t pass, you will just have to go back and retake it!
@ Kenni Ol After completing the 40 hours, I practiced where I took the test for a few days! I would recommend you to practice where you will be taking the test for at least a few days it will make you feel more confident! I was really scared too, but there is no reason to be!
@@kenniol5143 Many persons do not try to learn proper driving but we are granted an entire year in the US to learn. We have at least 1 whole year of driving practice on the road prior to getting our license In the USA. We get a driver handbook for our state first then we get our learners license at 15 years old and drive for a year with a licensed driver in the car supervising so that we learn how to properly operate the vehicle under the different required conditions of a roadway prior to getting out license. At 16 years old we go to the DMV to get our driver's license. Most people in the united states do not get any form of proper driving instruction. Most drivers get nothing other than from their parents. As a result of being instructed by mom & dad we get very poor fear based instructions that are usually quite incorrect. We get bad instructions like "get in one lane and stay there". We get fibbed to by our scared parents about what laws are In the US parents often tell their children to Just ignore other drivers. We are not taught to respect anyone. We are taught to ignore other driver's actions. We are taught to be "passive aggressive" in maintaining the speed limit and that obeying the speed limit & only the speed limit somehow justifies ignoring all other laws and rules. This fear based ignorant instructions makes for lots of bad illegal and dangerous driving habits as they age. Within my 1st year of driving I had 3 tickets: 1 for impeating because I tried to get one lane and stay there. which I learned is illegal. Drive in the rightmost lane "except while passing" is the law. I got a ticket for using my turn signal as a "request" to merge rather than waiting until it was clear and signaling an indication that I was going to merge. I got 2 tickets together. 1 for speeding and at the same time a ticket for impeding faster traffic at the same time because my father told me that as long as I wasn't speeding I was okay But according to the law I was in lane 2, a passing lane but I was not passing. I said passing would have caused me to speed however the police and traffic court told me otherwise. Some people don't practice enough and some people don't learn the rules. Other people learn the wrong rules based on assumption & hearsay not the actual law. Look up the term "Uniform Rules of the Road" and you'll see some consistant laws that cross jurisdictional lines.
@@Kate-vs9je Many of our test are done at the DMV on a closed course testing track., the rest are done at the testors whim, not at a predictable road place. And what does familiarity or unfamiliarity have to do with driving test or driving ease? How does having been on the road before or never been on the road Effect ease of driving on that roadway? How does familiarity or unfamiliar with a roadway affect driver's safety or driver ability at all? It's terrifying to me that someone could become dangerous because their surroundings or the roadway become unfamiliar.
I had my test today, I was super nervous, I had a rude instructor who was a lady. But I passed on a limb, I'm super happy. My tip is be calm and just listen you'll do just fine. Good luck to others.
It is nerve-wracking! Congratulations. Where did you test at? My nephew used Swerve Driving School and loved it. I am sure that there are a variety of instructors at each driving school. Sorry, yours did not work out too well.
I took my test in Illinois, my instructor was a nice guy which I took through Adam's driving school. When I went to the DMV my examiner was actually kinda rude which is what I should have said instead of instructor on my comment.

I take mine in like 2 hours. I have really bad anxiety. I know I can pass it. It just makes me nervous driving with a stranger. And a stranger that is just starring at you watching your every, single, move.
@Cade SCHILPEROORT I took it. I passed with almost a perfect score. Only thing I missed was turning blinker when parallel parking. And I almost braked really hard bc a squirrel ran into the road. But I knew if I did that I would have failed so I ended up running over it and I feel so bad haha :( I wish you luck. You’ll do good. :)

I passed mine yesterday. I suffer with anxiety and in the beginning of the test i was so nervous I accidentally accelerated too hard and i left my emergency brake on. When the instructor told me to turn left I accidentally was about to turn right but I switch to left right away. I had so many errors cause my nervousness but once I started driving on the road I drove smoothly and confidently. If i can pass so you guys can! Just drive carefully and confidently and be aware!
Took my test at 12:00pm, he said it would take 15 minutes. Took less than that, and I ended up passing! No need to be nervous honestly, once you start driving it’s super chill from there on :))! Good luck to everyone getting their licenses soon!!
for anyone who’s worried - i took it today, and it’s much easier than you are anticipating. just take a deep breath, stay calm, and focus on the road :)
That instructor was so much better than my test, she didn't tell me about speed bumps or the speed limit or give me nearly enough time to make turns. I'm trying again today and at least I know the turns before hand. I hope for an instructor like this guy.

You got this
@@imillusionn2062 thankyou, Appreciate it! I will keep that in mind 😊
@@kassyher I forgot to ask, did you pass?
@@imillusionn2062 yes, I passed 😁
i commented on this video the day that i failed my test for the first time. i ended up failing it twice, and was only able to pass after a third time. it was frustrating, because i was a fully competent driver, but my test anxiety made it so that i would make too many small errors to pass. anyway, i have my license now... and i'm commenting this for any other incredibly anxious people that may come across this: you can do it!
Thank you! I just came from another country and bought my car here, I am preparing to take my driver license and I'm rly anxious. Your comment will help me a lot in the future!!!
Thank you so much
Thank you!!!!!!!
Thank you , I’m terrified
I just failed mine the second time. Been driving constantly for over 2 months; freeway and all, but for some reason I haven’t been able to pass to save my life. I know we(as humans) usually point out what we do right and not what we do wrong, but I am certain I drive better than many drivers on the road and obey road signs, speed limits and all.... I see with my eyes everyday....It is what it is, I suppose!
Who else has their test tomorrow so they’re watching a bunch of driving test videos 🙋🏻♂️
edit: I passed 😌
I do XD
goodluck!!!!
Tyler Ross y’all
I do
Did you pass?
I took mine yesterday, at 2:20 pm, prior to that I was binge watching these like crazy. On the drive to the DMV I was beyond nervous and wanted to cry more and more as we got closer, but I took the test anyways and I passed! First try too!! So to anyone reading this on their way to take the behind the wheel test,, you got this, just listen to the instructors directions and use your driving knowledge! Good luck :)
I take mine in 5 days and I don’t feel exactly prepared I’m quite nervous actually

Happy for you God bless you! My son takes his this week he is also 22 years old.
@@beatriz7064 I hope he does amazing! I’m so happy he has his mama there rooting for him!
I failed once and I’ll present it again next week! Haha, thanks for sharing
i just got DQ for my second drive test today :((( for a small mistake, but i got less mistakes than 15.
For everyone who is nervous, once you are behind the wheel for about 5 min during your test your nerves will be gone trust me
To: Everyone who’s taking their test soon.
Where was your test?
Thanks for the tips! Mine is on Saturday
@@godisgood9324 El Cajon, San Diego
Honestly that’s what I’m nervous about for when I eventually do the driving test. Having a strict, nasty instructor will probably intimidate me so much lool hopefully I get a guy like the video.
@@godisgood9324 El Cajon
Coming from someone who was extremely nervous and feeling like 99% sure i’d fail, you’ll pass with flying color it’s going to be okay i was so nervous and i passed the first time, listen to everything the instructor says and simply follow the directions and you’ll be just fine, the written test i also passed first time with 1 question wrong.
Congratulations!
I wish this was my instructor. He gave clear and specific directions. It really helps someone like me who has a hard time with fallowing directions.
I take mines tomorrow
if you fail the first time when can you retake it again?
Ricardo Mendoza good luck! How did you do ?
After watching your video, it gave me more confidence. I finally took the exam yesterday for the first time and I passed! Will never forget her words, “Stay here in your car, someone will come out and give you your temporary license.”
Awesome - congrats!!
Taking my test tomorrow, wish me luck!

How long did you practice before taking your license? I’m scared 😭
@ Kenni Ol After completing the 40 hours, I practiced where I took the test for a few days! I would recommend you to practice where you will be taking the test for at least a few days it will make you feel more confident! I was really scared too, but there is no reason to be!
@@kenniol5143 Many persons do not try to learn proper driving
but we are granted an entire year in the US to learn.
We have at least 1 whole year of driving practice on the road prior to getting our license In the USA.
We get a driver handbook for our state first then
we get our learners license at 15 years old and drive for a year with a licensed driver in the car supervising so that we learn how to properly operate the vehicle under the different required conditions of a roadway prior to getting out license.
I said passing would have caused me to speed however
the police and traffic court told me otherwise.

They say it takes about 20 minutes or so. How long did yours take?
Sorry for not getting back sooner, my test took like 10-15 minutes from what I remember. Depending on your test it might be right around 20 mins.
