"Forgoing better parts because it would make your mech look ugly" - the true ArmorDecor statement right there.
It's called "Fashion Core".
ArmorDecor is better. More variety is also cool. If I remember correctly, we have Fashion Souls, Elden Bling, and now ArmorDecor.
@@ALLMINDmercenarysupportsystem we called it Fashion Core before the Souls times.
@@Echo_419 I was not aware of that. I still prefer ArmorDecor, but it really doesn't matter. It is just words.

Seeing reviewers get filtered in the first mission is hilarious.
I’m also finding it funny how many players get filtered at Balteus. Too many people trying to play this game like DS/ER

Y'know, I don't always get the "Hey, this dude actually played (and enjoyed) the game" vibes from every Honest Trailers video, but I can definitely tell he enjoys Armored Core.

It really depends on who writes the trailers as all of them vary on what opinions are stated by whoever is in charge of writing.
As an Armored Core fan since the very first game on Playstation, this Honest Trailers is perfect.
Wanna say your thoughts on the game for AC newbies like us?
Heard the previous couple Armored Cores played like Squirrels on Crack
the second armored core is what made me love video games.... before that i never really played any.
I played a demo disc that had the first one, but I unfortunately never really got into it until silent line.
It was making me a bit sad that from software became known as the the souls devs. Armored core forgotten... Until now
He actually addressed the qualms we had with reviewers back in old gen, not entirely positive but mans might actually be a fan.
Same played the demo for the first one, then got it. Love ac 4 and 5 the most ac6 is a mix of both of 4 and 5 perfection
The worst part is, the story is actually impactful. What little you understand on the first playthrough still makes you feel bad through the choices you have to make.
IMHO Armored Core VI is the story that's the easiest to invest in out of all the AC games, and it's oddly insidious about it: it proceeds in the normal detached "you're a merc for the highest bidder", but then throws in characters like Ayre and Rusty and Carla and Michigan, and even makes Walter likeable. So suddenly when you have to make a choice between endings what happens to the characters hit hard.
WHY DO I HAVE TO KILL MY BUDDY! WAAH! First the mission makes you feel like Char at Loum. then it makes you feel like an asshole.
The choice between intercepting the redguns vs the vespers was personally devastating
@@zeehero7280 Went from feeling Like char at Loum to Char on the Axis drop
Good design though. You feel the general disassociation you have from the situation, being a hired mercenary. Alternatively, you can also get as engrossed as you want, by immersing yourself in the log hunt and piecing everything together yourself, while going through multiple twists and turns in what you thought the story was. Brilliant stuff, really.
"Ok look it's hard to care about the lore when you're having a mini seizure dodging a million missiles" As someone with epilepsy who literally had a mini seizure during my playthrough this line cut deep.
Im not laughing at your condition but this comment made me laugh out loud that you actually were triggered by the intensity of the game
It's a FromSoft game, We probably needed to watch the British dudes to explain it anyways.
After beating the Alea Lacta Est ending, I immediately went to a story analysis to explain what I've been doing for the past 10 hours
@@jaybuck12321 Well it's not the only game and intensity isn't exactly the cause though it can be an additional factor. I got lucky in that I can look at strobe lights all day and be fine what triggers them for me is the combination of a bunch of stress factors that are going on for a prolonged period of time(biggest one is lack of sleep). I'm sure with AC it's easy to imagine how that could happen but it can also happen with RTS games since your brain has the consent stress of dealing with your base, economy, and enemies all at the same time. Then again I also have 3k+ hours in Titanfall 2 which many would consider more stressful but it's almost never happened in that game lol.
@@InMaTeofDeath
Man that sucks.
Hope you remember to stay healthy first and foremost. The(mostly) singleplayer game can wait, your body can't. Don't stress yourself out unneccesarily, man. (In general I have an easy time not getting too stressed out in these type of games. I'd say fromsoft is pretty good at keeping things at low intensity, regardless of the skill-level required. But I'm sure it's different for many people.)
"trying not to use songbirds... then going right back to songbirds" So accurate in my case i did that in my second playthrought until i got soup
Stun Needle Launcher was the Easy Mode weapon for me.
Second and Third Playthroughs became cakewalk once we all unlocked the better weapons and parts
Stun needle > songbirds
This but zimmermans.
Laser Lance
Pile Bunker
Songbird
??? Usually gatling or pulse gun
Kick, kick, kick
Gorilla hold in mode activate.
Dodging is for people with no honor.
This is the spirit of someone who beat the helicopter in 2 tries, and Balteus in 3.

Honestly, the most fun I had playing a game this year since Hi-Fi Rush. The power-fantasy it provided was incredible
For some people it isn't a power fantasy though, lol

@@KentzHodiono dude a lot of the game isn't that hard from the beginning of the game until you hit balteus it's fairly easy not to mention regular MTS can't do much to you

I am so damn happy that Armored Core is back and generating a new group of fans. The nostalgia hits hard for us that played the games of the past, while the newcomers just get FromSoftware motivated to keep the IP alive.
I'm happy AC is back and doing well even though I'm not a fan of the series or anime style mecha. And that's despite Robotech being my introduction to mechs. But I never really liked the Veritech fighters as much as the ones that you'd rarely see. I always liked the more plodding background support mechs that you'd only catch glimpses of. The ones ended up becoming some of the OG mechs in Battletech like the Warhammer, Archer, or Longbow (coming soon to MW5).
So with that said.
More mechs for everyone!
I hope the popularity flows both ways and we continue to get more mech content.
The fact FromSoftware didn't even *need* to make the game but chose to do it anyways is why they're a legendary studio-in-the-making, imo. The rep they built with the entire Soulsborne series (I really wish Bloodborne could be released to all consoles as it is an AMAZING game) meant people like me who never played an Armored Core game but loved the Soulsborne series would choose to give AC a try just because of those games. And once the game clicked for me? Ho. Lee. Schitt. It's a blast and I hope they do indeed keep the IP alive. FromSoftware just doesn't miss. Gonna make a gamer's altar for them someday 😂
Funny thing was I landed on both Armored Core and Dark Souls by accident, and didn't know until many years later they were from the same publisher.
I still get chills thinking about the first time I saw the AC6 trailer... I never got into AC5 because I couldn't appreciate the tempo or the aesthetics, so I've been waiting 13 years for a new one.
And my god, did it deliver.
I'm the guy who had no consoles growing up because Asian parents believes in no fun all books, but I've kept an eye on various games I wanted to play and just couldn't, because I can't get it on PC. Monster Hunter and AC finally both made it to PC, a solid decade and a half later...
The following of the game is 99% Souls fans now lol. Almost no actual AC fans in the mix, though people constantly claim to be one.
That Karasawa rife mention is a deep cut. That's how I know these guys went into the L O R E.
lol Yeah, instant cred
Been looking forward to a new Kurasawa since rumors of a new AC were first circulated.....and here I am not finding one anywhere in Rubicon =(
@stiimuli It's in the game. You get it through collecting logs for ALLMIND.

This is a game that exemplifies From Soft's core ideals especially well. It will kick you in the nuts over and over, but each time it does so it helps you back up, dusts you off and encourages you to try again with the promise of shiny new toys if you win.
And they were doing this in Armored Core years before any Souls game was even imagined
Armored Core Created the infamous Miyazaki, Then Miyazaki created the infamous soulsborne saga.
Whether it does this so that you can feel good about earning the toys, or simply because it likes kicking people in the nuts, is an open question.
Personally I like to think it's a little bit of both...

Honestly I absolutely loved this game, I found the story very intresting and cool, and the customization of the mech stole tens of hours to my gameplay, which is also stellar as expected by FromSoft. The art direction and ost are nothing to sneeze at too. For me this is easily the best game that came out this year, and by a sizeable margin! 9/10.

as a long time fan of AC.. it brings me no end of joy to know how many people are finally discovering this series and falling in love/hate with it.
As a 30 year gamer, I would like to formally apologize for not hopping on the wagon much sooner uwu
@@LaTerata While I wish more people did appreciate the old AC games, the controls for the first 3 generations can be very overwhelming. With the release of AC6 some people went back to play the old games and could not wrap their heads around using the triggers and bumpers (L1, L2, R1, and R2) to look up, down, left and right. Thats right even after the PlayStation 2 was released and joysticks were implemented, armored core didn't use them. I remember back in the day my friends refused to play it because it was too complicated.
@@anubis520 I remember playing mech style game in the 90's. The controls definitely were overwhelming. Once you get the flow, it is great.
To be honest, the story is definitely one of the more interesting aspects of the game... Specially when you get into your third playthrough.

As a long time AC Veteran since the PS2 days, you have described my favorite game flawlessly -!!!!!!! Well done bro :)
"And reviled by reviewers because they asked you to learn things" this line KILLED ME, I missed you honest trailer commentary! 😅😂🤣
Considering this is such a niche game and most didn't make it past the tutorial until like two weeks after release, I'm surprised how incredibly accurate every bit of this was. Very well done. I'm obsessed with this game
Quick boosting around at Mach 3 is one of the greatest feelings I've had in a game.
I'm surprised the Pilebunker wasn't mentioned in this video. There's nothing quite like struggling in an AC fight during a story mission because they keep using the nanobots to heal and wearing you down, only to swap to a Pilebunker loadout and absolutely destroying their ass before they can even regen the first time.
Pointy stick gonna poke
1.stun baton combo or charge stun baton, then change to pilebunker
2. shotgun on right hand finishes stagger bar
3. pilebunker charged hit eliminates target, or destroys 70% of their health

Honestly, seeing so many people get filtered by the tutorial and Balteus fills me with glee imagining how they would react to the CEL 240 fight.

Hopped on the AC train at AC3, now I’m 29. Having armored core come back was a huge nostalgia trip, and having it come back good and bringing more people to the train was awesome. So glad they went with the faster pace gameplay similar to “For Answer “ hoping for future dlc and games after this successful launch. This honest trailer was perfect 👍
Ok. You got me with "moving around like a fly with a vicious cocaine habit" lol.
From Software is bringing back the mecha action genre. Now they will have souls games and mechs, what a joy.
Honestly we should probably stop calling them "souls" games at this point. I get that for the actual souls titles and elden ring, but for sekiro, bloodborne and armored core, they're not very fitting unless in minor details and general themes.
@@RedFloyd469It's just the name of the DNA of the game at this point as well, and everyone knows what you're talking about when you say "souls-like".

You know you've hit the sweet spot of this game when you've purchased enough parts to start saving and loading builds, then get to customize them, give them names, and inevitably get attached.
There's something so cool about pulling out the different mechas you've spent so much rime refining and optimizing. "Hmmmm, I guess _Tearful Impact_ is not working out against this guy, but I bet _Feral Buster_ or _Golden Swift_ would do the job just fine"

Ya know, the more I think about it the more I feel it’s kinda unfair to harp on souls like to be “too difficult”. I’m beginning to think that they just stuck to the old way video games challenged you. You know make them to where you do need to learn to play at least decently in order to progress. When I think on ff XVI and the “difficulty” of that game it was almost insulting because it felt like they thought we were to stupid or incompetent to complete it without help. OR they were so afraid they’d lose players in their effort to appeal to everyone that they just turned it into hand holding so people wouldn’t quit. I really feel like when games or movies or whatever go that route, trying to appeal to the most people possible, they just water down whatever was appealing the first place and we end up with a boring bunch of nonsense. I made sure to at least finish XVI, at 83 hours, before I said much about it, but no, I didn’t end up liking it at all. First time for everything I guess.
