    The size of the vascular plant and the xylem is an oddly effective way of representing the scale of the corporations' greed. Is hard to even justify fighting over anything when you have access to that quantity of resources.

    • @andrewowens4421
      @andrewowens4421 6 месяцев назад +42

      Yeah, that's literally owning planets level of money. Or at least owning whole moons. If you _still_ need more resources after that then it's not about really needing resources but just wanting more to own out of base greed.

    • @arforafro5523
      @arforafro5523 6 месяцев назад +35

      It's not just the resources, its the power. Arquebus not only had infinite money at their disposal with the Vascular Plant but also a way to control who gets the super fuel for both machinery and weapons. Whatever price and whatever amount of resources they have to invest doesn't matter because once they get a hold of Rubicon nothing else will matter and everything they lost they can easily replace later on by selling Coral or take it by force using Coral powered weapons and AC's on top of having access to both RRI and PCA technology.

    • @ee822
      @ee822 4 месяца назад +17

      For our population? Certainly. But the more people that exist, the more resources that are needed to support them. We may only see Rubicon, but its also only one of many worlds the PCA is dealing with, and the PCA is only one government administration that's basically watching over the equivalent of EPA Superfund sites. The broader spacefaring civilization could easily be host to Quadrillions of humans at a low end.

    3:00 Materials science is always improving too, so it's not a large assumption to make that fighting vehicles will become ~20% lighter than their modern counterparts in a future with lasers, plasma weapons, and hover tech! This is something that armchair novelists seem to forget when critiquing the weight of sci-fi weapons.

    • @firstnamelastname7124

    • @Supercohboy
      @Supercohboy 6 месяцев назад +33

      @@DIMOHA25 This is very true, that's a problem that plagues almost all real-robot mecha. Larger proportions lead to much greater volume and thus greater weight. Even if we assume that there's a surprising amount of empty space in the average AC, they're still probably around 4 times lighter than they should be (without assuming ACs are built out of exotic materials). That was my bad, you're right. I'm so used to people complaining about how light future-aircraft and future-tanks are in sci-fi that I gave a kneejerk response tbh.
      Technically, some of the Gundam universes use special superlight alloys to justify their given weights, so that's a possible explanation to the problem of the in-game given weights for ACs. The in-game tech could all be using superlight materials, but appear as conventional things like steel and concrete because the future-versions of these materials look quite similar while being substantially better.
      Either that, or AC6 exists in a universe where volume isn't squared 🤷‍♂

      As something of a real-world example: if you told an Egyptian Pharaoh that modern humanity would be able to build structures over a mile tall, he'd probably whip you dead for silliness. Modern skyscrapers are only possible because steel is much lighter than stone, hence you can make straight vertical structures with it, whereas with stone you'd have to contend with its weight and various other properties and hence why the most common way to build large with them without the use of adhesives was to make a pyramid.

    Something that would be really intersting to compare to is the grid pillars/platforms. They easily dwarf the strider for example, and some of the missions take place on them entirely.

    I did not even flinch when you mentioned a bunch of other people already discussing this subject. Your editing and animation, not to mention narration for the opening and for the whole video made me stay. And subscribed. I'm not really into watching editing and animation on youtube, but yours is probably the best in my opinion. Crazy good work, love your style. Keep it up!

    I dont know if its as big necessarily, but the xenoblade series also has wonderful giant setpieces. Xenoblade 1 has the two main titans of bionis and mechonis, xenoblade 2 has the various titans and the world tree, which is similar in appearance to the vascular plant, and xenoblade 3 has the mechonis sword as a towering landmark. I love games with such a sense of scale and ive been loving my armored core playthrough(s) so far

    awesome video, the animation work and how lively you made your representative AC model behave was quite fun to watch, even when it held the PC of elden ring as if it was a toy figure. xD
    Armored Core always gave me this strange feeling of being at home in a space not made for me, that is, the perspective of piloting an AC, and that the whole environment around ACs and MTs being design to facilitate their use, as either labor machines or combat.
    its also insane to imagine that older AC games happened mostly under ground, stuff like Layered from AC3 having such varied urban parts and even its own ecosystem with forests and seas.

    I could imagine an open-world hybird Armored Core game, most likely exclusive to next gen. I say hybrid because it will mostly be like Elden Ring except the garage acts as the Round Table, with the arena function acting much the same way. With the scale of some of these buildings and structures, it will be the most unique open-world experience ever!

    Ignore all those news outlet as this is still a really great and nicely edited video!
    Those "news outlet" likes to regurgitate the same topic from RUclipss for easy contents, and this one's the same. All those articles actually talked about Zullie The Witch's video where he/she ported the models to Elden Ring. This also explains the "Ice Worm is The Biggest AC6 Boss!" article from PC Gamer, as Zullie ported Ice Worm first before porting Strider, PCA Satellite, and Xylem.
    On the other hand, Zullie usually focuses on using modding tools to take a closure look and checking out cut contents while pondering about its implications, which is a very different approach to this video. If you choose to revisit Armored Core 6 as the topic, I'd say a little collaboration will actually help you as having these steel giants in Elden Ring's human sized environment can give you an even better sense of scale.

And I don't care if other people have made similar videos, I absolutely love Armored Core and will watch different people's takes on the same subject, because they all do things differently and sometimes give different statistics.

    there are two reasons why supersonic helicopters are "challenging" to say the least:
    1.) The rotor provides up-lift by turning. Lift is dependent on air speed. When you move in a orthogonal direction to the spin axis of the rotor one side is producing more lift, than the other, because rotation speed and travel speed add up. This induces torque and the helicopters wants to roll over. Real helicopters counter this by angeling the blades relative to the position they are in. But even the fastest helicopters only reach 500km/h
    2.) Your maximum theoretical topspeed on any propeller aircraft equals the air speed at the tip of your propeller. For a supersonic vehicle it has to be supersonic. But it's a propeller, this means it moves in a circle. This means the tips of the propeller move supersonic and the center area subsonic and in between there is a point that breaks the soundbarrier constantly, producing extreme noise and vibrations and general stress on the vehicle. Don't know how they manage it on a propeller the size of the Titanic.

    Another game that comes to mind when doing scaling like this is the Xenosaga series. The mechs you pilot in it are almost as large as an AC and many of the facilities and structures you go through are also massive in scale, only a few being unnecessarily bigger than the vascular plant. I was always fascinated by that and found myself taking time during missions in AC6 standing next to things like stairs and building doors to get a sense of how large an AC was.
