@@gogogo123454321 Nah, having fought both, and using a more DPS efficient build against Ayre, she can dodge the laser lance, which is the king of melee rushing, better than Ibis. She'll dodge out of range more in general, and has the same gimmick of Balteus, but on steroids, and primarily rushing in for melee combos. That's the first half of the fight. Second half, she REALLY goes all in on offense, trading her shield for a few nasty moves, including one that makes the Ibis Eagle look like child's play. And you saw how much trouble the Ibis Eagle gave him.
I'm so mad that you beat Walter so easily by only punching. That boss was such a struggle for me, and here you are just giving him the ol' razzle dazzle.
Honestly, I consider him one of the easier bosses. The only AC fights that really give me trouble are the 2v1 and 3v1 fights. Some of the NG+ bosses are properly challenging.
Thanks for some solid advice lads. Didn't have gats but used dual machine guns on a tankier build. Much love my Armoured Bros. Funnily enough I ran out of ammo and finished it off with a punch!
Notice this when playing with the AC trainer. This is the reason why you can't put laser blades on the right arm. The devs don't want you alternating between 4 blades. Still, should've been an OST upgrade. Also, imagine if arm parts have a punch damage stat. The stronger the arm, the more damage and stagger it does.
The "jet engine" melee lunge isn't a hidden stat. Bottom of the list there's a Melee Energy Cost and Melee Lunge Distance. There's generators that specialize in melee. There's also Energy Supply that increases the amount your bar refills automatically after fully emptying and some have higher energy pools that take longer to drain.
For anyone looking to try this out, the damage of your punch is affected by your arms' Melee Specialization stat, and the distance you can cover while punching is determined by your thrusters' Melee Attack Thrust stat. Also, the damage of your kicks is determined by your weight, with diminishing returns past 80,000 weight. Reverse joint legs get a bonus to kick damage. My parts list for my punching build is: - Basho head - Main Dish body - Basho arms - Spring Chicken legs - Kikaku thrusters - San-Tai generator
Reguardless of all the goofery...Lenny is a legit genius gamer. I can hear his mom thinking 'if only e' put this mooch time into e's piano e'd be playin' Carnegie Haul!'
Was testing my AC and ran out of ammo against the training AC after killing it a few times. Decided to just keep punching it, seeing a mech just get absolutely stunlocked by a flurry of haymakers was absolutely hilarious.
I love how he was so worried on the tutorial and the Jailbreak Missions when you can literally just empty all your ammo in the safe spots to make the game purge your weapons automatically, meaning you can go right back to punching. I'd say that'd be an acceptable rule of the run.
I was thinking: If you start the tutorial mission by shooting all the ammo in your machine gun and the auto purge option is on, you should be able to use a fist in the tutorial boss fight. The only problem is that restarting checkpoint would bring the gun back so maybe you did beat it the best way because that might take to long to expend all ammo every single attempt.
I cannot believe not only how effective that was, but I had no idea the last part of the Ice Worm was a dps rush and you did it, but you beat the Ibis AC. That was honestly insane and I was popping off when you did it! Keep it spicy you ABSOLUTE MAD LAD!!!
Quick tip for anyone wanting to attempt this challenge, if you completely run out of ammo on a weapon you will discard it and transition into punching, which makes the first mission and the start of chapter 5 a lot easier.
So for the record, you're not actually *forced* to use the needle gun in the Ice Worm mission. You *can* leave it behind and bring something else. The inherent problem for this run though is that your AC coming into contact with the worm's face at all just instantly kills it.
Wow, what an amazing run. Good job! Every time I see these challenges I think "will they get past Ibis?" She caused me so much trouble on all my playthroughs, really well done to beat her without weapons.
For a while every time Lenny said "core" i understood "car" so at the middle of the video there was a lot of "car vs car fights" going on which was absolutely hilarious. Great video. Love the well sprinkled in, but not over the top enthusiasm when Lenny beat certain bosses.
AC4 on xbox 360 had keybinds to purge your weapons, regardless of ammo remaining. id imagine lenny would be kicking himself if AC6 has this aswell and he just didnt notice x)
@@lordglitch4266 That's the manual purge when you run out of ammo it auto drops the weapon without the upgrade so yea he could have just shot at a wall sheer that would probably take a good few minuets but that would save a lot of time fighting the boss. @williammiklos3334 yeH I was just saying manual purge is an upgrade since that's what I thought the person was asking. Only time I ran out of ammo was in the 5-wave fight in late game, and thankfully I had the plasma lance to finish up or that would've taken a while
The main downside of trying to punch enemies is that many faster enemies will dodge out of the way faster than a regular punch can track, while melee weapons get better acceleration into an attack. ive found that if you run out of ammo you begin punching as well, theoretically in the first mission you could just shoot at nothing until you run out of ammo
I found myself out of ammo during the mission where you face the giant oven boss at the end, and I had to punch my way to the supply drop... it was fun as hell 😂😂😂 this game is leagues above everything I expected! One of the best FromSoft titles to date!!
Fun Fact, for teh tutorial mission it may have been easier to just waste all your ammo on nothing and once depleted, you automatically discard the weapon, this would in turn give ONE fist to play with in that battle.
For the tutorial: I would argue that "shooting your weapon at a wall without doing damage" doesn't violate "no weapons" any more than simply having them equipped. Therefore, you could empty you ammo into a wall, which would allow you to then purge your weapons and use your fists.
@@Sorain1I'm pretty sure it's faster to empty your guns than to kill the gunship by crashing into it for any given attempt, and it would definitely take less attempts.
Fun fact if you expend all your ammo your ac will drop the gun so even in the first mission you can still punch, you just to have shoot your gun into the ground until you're out of ammo at the start
He turned it into Mech-souls officially. "Once we stagger them, we need to only punch once or twice, then back up" Also, that this run is possible means that just unequipping one of your hand weapons to free up for the punch attack is very viable.
The other day, I saw PVP match on the subreddit where the player had enough of losing several matches and challenged his opponent to a fist brawl. Dude had MGR Senator Armatrong's theme playing in the background and the fight was wicked.
I might be wrong about this, but I *think* the worm actually does take a TINY bit of damage to it's shield from other attacks, which may potentially mean the stun needle might not be necessary. I'm not too sure about that though.
People can argue all the live long day about what you are, but the one thing I believe everybody can agree on is that you’re a freaking legend for doing these kinda challenges.
Runs like these are ine of the things i love about older ac games, especially the lacks of gimic type fights/ core vs core fights. I've always been put off by fimic bosses after ac games with only corevs core fights
So you can stunlock, stand between the legs and get no damage, trap them in the corner... I thought by now from software should account for Lenny to play their gamea like this
Finished the other route so I can finally come back and finish this video! And yeah, oh boy did you get lucky for the route you chose, lol. The other final boss would have been a PAIN with fists only x_x
This is funny, sure, but can we stop to appreciate how good Lenny really is? I'm still mired in Chapter 2 using real weapons, and Lenny's dominating bare-handed like a giant, metal Bruce Lee.
Yea I'm still stuck with sea spider and I dislike playing full tank like ppl saying with double gats to beat it. I forced my way through Balteus with speed build and dodging and plan to do so with the spider. So yeah Lenny is really good at the game regardless of stunlock feature being too good on some bosses.
@erzabryantara9004 yeah I ended up doing the same thing against balteus. I just equipped 2 pulse weapons and the quick machine guns then played very aggressively and stayed as close as possible to the boss
Though I'm concerned for your mental health, I truly appreciate the lengths to which you'll go to make an entertaining and interesting video, even to the point of rejecting a free pass, at the beginning of the game just to stay true to the idea of the video to a degree no one would really demand of you. That Worm kill in special was exhilarating. Great work as always, Lenny, you absolute mad lad! Edit: took me a while to check this one out 'cause I want to 100% the game before checking out, just to avoid spoilers.
Fantastic video! Very satisfying to watch you pummel the Sea Spider and Ibis to death haha. Unless I missed it, I don't think in the video you mentioned using OST chips to improve your melee damage and improve damage when enemies are vulnerable. If you do this again on new game+ I think that would be a nice damage boost 😊
Not sure if it would have made things better or worse, but for the heli boss you could have fired all your ammo to drop the weapon and be able to punch in the tutorial
@@Sorain1 the OS upgrade just lets you throw away the weapon instantly, if you run out of ammo you are left with the fist no matter what. So Lenny could've just shot at nothing for a while to spend all the ammo
I just finished the game for the first time and I have to say It's amazing, the soundtrack is really cool, the variations of builds is just big and nice and some of the bosses can really challenge you, but you never think "this is impossible" that's what I love the most about this game, there is no boss that feels too unfair.
I dare you to get the true ending reason to see you through this exact same build, and to get the true ending will be entertaining because the final boss of the true ending is All Mind and to get the true ending you have to get the other ending where you detonate the coral. Also, because the true ending is literally the hardest ending to get no matter what you do, trust me, I got it, and I feel dead inside.

@@Artemie-np3quthere are a couple bosses where if you don’t focus the weak point you’re liable to run out of ammo. like the cinder lady’s giant firey chimney loader and the one with the armored core that sits between the tank legs.
Fire one at a time. That way you are preserving ammo better and never stop shooting. Can always switch a shoulder weapon for a back up gun too
@@obscure.reference Yea that makes sense, I guess I just clicked in the Cinder fight to shoot the big open bit, and I never did the CATAPRACT fight with my Minigun/Song build. I only just killed it yesterday in NG+ with cheese of melee lol. (Pile Driver + Laser Lance)
if you decided to not kill carla, the final boss you would’ve faced would be impossible lmao
My thoughts exactly, its impossible to get close long enough to land a melee hit reliably let alone just fists

I gonna try it

But the problem came with having to use aa
If you think walter was hard, wait till you fight ayre
Honestly, I consider him one of the easier bosses. The only AC fights that really give me trouble are the 2v1 and 3v1 fights. Some of the NG+ bosses are properly challenging.
I'm crying Lenny. I've spent 10 hours trying to beat Balteus and you do it with fists. I have much to learn haha.

@@chrispena2457songbirds and 10x unlock after balteus im pretty sure
Notice this when playing with the AC trainer. This is the reason why you can't put laser blades on the right arm. The devs don't want you alternating between 4 blades. Still, should've been an OST upgrade. Also, imagine if arm parts have a punch damage stat. The stronger the arm, the more damage and stagger it does.
Yeah I won’t lie it was a serious disappointment when I found out I couldn’t use two swords
too bad they didn't bring back the dual sword weapon arms.
@@LuoSon312_G8I remember those! Those rocked 👌
@@pHixiq You can at least equip two swords with the OS tuning Weapon Bay and swap while the other is cooling down.
@@DNToqueryeah but that’s only on 1 arm
There is no dual wield
As a melee Core I approve this strategy
My parts list for my punching build is:
- Basho head
- Main Dish body
- Basho arms
- Spring Chicken legs
- Kikaku thrusters
- San-Tai generator

Was testing my AC and ran out of ammo against the training AC after killing it a few times. Decided to just keep punching it, seeing a mech just get absolutely stunlocked by a flurry of haymakers was absolutely hilarious.
Swinburne's "What!?" in response to you spamming the stick is so fucking good
“THIS HAND OF MINE IS BURNING RED. ITS LOUD ROAR TELLS ME TO GRASP VICTORY!”
I thought for the tutorial you would shoot all your bullets at a wall since it forces your mech to drop the weapon and start punching instead
I bet lenny's kicking himself after reading this
Pretty sure you can also purge weapons with a command
@@McGunpla you can with the OS upgrade
I found out the same thing when I used all my weapon ammo up. I started to punch instead. I never thought of beating the game like that though. Haha
@McGunpla you have to set not auto purge in the settings
Stunlocking Balteus is just chef's kiss.
Damn, wasn't expecting beating the game following a IGN guide this soon :D.
More seriously, insane work you done there
I guess you could say this run really, floats down.
Quick tip for anyone wanting to attempt this challenge, if you completely run out of ammo on a weapon you will discard it and transition into punching, which makes the first mission and the start of chapter 5 a lot easier.
@@NomadCanid But you can't do that on the start
@@NomadCanid and the mech you get at the start of chapter 5 doesn't have your core upgrades.
@@InsulinRunnerthey're not though?
@@CaptainCFalcon You're right, there's an option to auto-purge weapons in the settings that I didn't know about. Mine was off by default.
@@InsulinRunner Auto-purge is on by default though, that's not gonna be different for different people.
Ibis was tough for me, but I beat it after 10-15 tries. Know what was a wall for me? Arquebus. It took me THREE. FUCKING. HOURS.

Lenny imposing dominance at 14:19 got a good chuckle out of me.
Especially the “What?”
I love the fact that he doesnt just shoot his gun at a wall in the tutorial mission. Expending all ammos makes your AC just chuck it aside
It doesn't in the tutorial mission, as the mech you're forced to use doesn't have the OS to discard weapons.
@@InsulinRunner You don't need the OS for that. If you run out of ammo on one weapon it is automatically discarded
@@Irn0x Not in the tutorial mission. Try it.
@@InsulinRunner I just did, it works. You don't need the upgrade.

poor lenny, if he just fired at the floor to use up the ammo he could have done the tutorial with a punch
For a while every time Lenny said "core" i understood "car" so at the middle of the video there was a lot of "car vs car fights" going on which was absolutely hilarious. Great video. Love the well sprinkled in, but not over the top enthusiasm when Lenny beat certain bosses.
Watching Lenny beat the ice worm to death with his bare hands was strangely cathartic
For the tutorial mission you could've just shot the weapons at a wall, waste all your ammo and auto drop them....
AC4 on xbox 360 had keybinds to purge your weapons, regardless of ammo remaining. id imagine lenny would be kicking himself if AC6 has this aswell and he just didnt notice x)
@@Zarphonthat's an upgrade you have to unlock through the arena iirc
@@lordglitch4266 Ahhh, fair, didnt know what its like in AC6
@@lordglitch4266 That's the manual purge when you run out of ammo it auto drops the weapon without the upgrade so yea he could have just shot at a wall sheer that would probably take a good few minuets but that would save a lot of time fighting the boss.
I know this because I don't have that upgrade and I like to run a full missiles loadout and my right & left hand, missiles launches run out of ammo a lot and my AC just throws them away then I can now punch I had to punch the ACT 2 end boss with 10% life left.
@williammiklos3334 yeH I was just saying manual purge is an upgrade since that's what I thought the person was asking. Only time I ran out of ammo was in the 5-wave fight in late game, and thankfully I had the plasma lance to finish up or that would've taken a while
I love how this is actually somewhat viable in this game
The main downside of trying to punch enemies is that many faster enemies will dodge out of the way faster than a regular punch can track, while melee weapons get better acceleration into an attack. But yeah, it is definitely possible, and I even beat the Sea Spider my first time around with punches after running out of ammo in my hand weapons.
@@echomjpwhat about kicks? I wouldn't say it's a weapon and they might help with faster enemies.

ah nvm hes doing the ending i havent done yet, watch the rest tomorrow night then
ive found that if you run out of ammo you begin punching as well, theoretically in the first mission you could just shoot at nothing until you run out of ammo
I found myself out of ammo during the mission where you face the giant oven boss at the end, and I had to punch my way to the supply drop... it was fun as hell 😂😂😂 this game is leagues above everything I expected! One of the best FromSoft titles to date!!
Fun fact: somebody is making an entire crackish armoured core fanfic based on this entire premise
Fun Fact, for teh tutorial mission it may have been easier to just waste all your ammo on nothing and once depleted, you automatically discard the weapon, this would in turn give ONE fist to play with in that battle.
The C-Spider actually is fairly decent for this challenge since you are considbely better off staying as close to it as possible anyway
Ikr? The plan is to get directly up next to it and try to stun it as soon as possibly anyway so this didn't really change anything
For the tutorial: I would argue that "shooting your weapon at a wall without doing damage" doesn't violate "no weapons" any more than simply having them equipped. Therefore, you could empty you ammo into a wall, which would allow you to then purge your weapons and use your fists.
Only, the moment you checkpoint, the gun is back. It's not worth the time investment.
@@Sorain1I'm pretty sure it's faster to empty your guns than to kill the gunship by crashing into it for any given attempt, and it would definitely take less attempts.
Wow, I didn't even know you could do this. Props to the devs for actually making this instead of a generic text box saying you need a weapon equipped.
This man is the embodiment of "I didn't hear no bell!" lol
Wait, what about that arquebus balteus on your Kill Cinder carla route? You know between that 29:40 smart cleaner and Last boss?
Ive been wondering that this whole time any answer?
Fun fact if you expend all your ammo your ac will drop the gun so even in the first mission you can still punch, you just to have shoot your gun into the ground until you're out of ammo at the start
He turned it into Mech-souls officially.
"Once we stagger them, we need to only punch once or twice, then back up"
Also, that this run is possible means that just unequipping one of your hand weapons to free up for the punch attack is very viable.

I might be wrong about this, but I *think* the worm actually does take a TINY bit of damage to it's shield from other attacks, which may potentially mean the stun needle might not be necessary. I'm not too sure about that though.
Correct. It just takes a LOT of abuse to break the shield without the stun needle. You also get funny dialogue from the NPCs if you don't bring it.
if you didn't bring the needle than other weapons can break the shield. if you did equip the needle than you'll have to use it
People can argue all the live long day about what you are, but the one thing I believe everybody can agree on is that you’re a freaking legend for doing these kinda challenges.

If you can land the very first hit, you legitimately can stunlock people to their death.
The trouble is landing that first hit...

I'm surprised he didn't waste all of his ammo in the first mission to auto purge his weapons lol, would've been so much easier lol.
The amount of firsts and records zerolenny has could fill a chapter in the Guinness book
The best thing I can say for sea spider is. Very close to slightly medium range is the sweet spot. You back off and it's laser city
As SOON as I saw my AC punch after running out of ammo, I knew we were getting a Lenny vid
For the tutorial, I believe that running out of ammo would have forced you into punch mode
Would love to see the third ending boss cleared this way as well (third playthrough boss)
Really love watching people fall in love with Armored Core.
This was hilarious and impressive!

Not sure if it would have made things better or worse, but for the heli boss you could have fired all your ammo to drop the weapon and be able to punch in the tutorial
As for the tutorial level, I'm pretty sure you can manually purge your weapons and throw them away to use your fists from the start
Nope. It's an OS unlock, and on the tutorial level you have no OS upgrades. (same with the escape level.) Not even in Newgame +/++
@@Sorain1 the OS upgrade just lets you throw away the weapon instantly, if you run out of ammo you are left with the fist no matter what. So Lenny could've just shot at nothing for a while to spend all the ammo

It's amazing, the soundtrack is really cool, the variations of builds is just big and nice and some of the bosses can really challenge you, but you never think "this is impossible" that's what I love the most about this game, there is no boss that feels too unfair.
The hardest boss in the game is the camera in the ayre fight
