Clarifying stuff about the Sol-664 figure: It's true that it is being released as part of the Robot Damashii line, but 30MM (30 Minute Missions) is a seperate line of highly customizable model kits which Bandai has announced they will release AC6 kits for. I.E. The Sol-664 figure is an action figure, that's gonna be built and painted straight out of the box. The 30MM kits are probably gonna be modular Armored Core figures that you can build and customize yourself.
@VaatiVidya Same! I collect and build 30MM kits myself. They're fun and easy to build, and you can really mix and match for that personal custom build. It's a perfect line for Armored Core.
A word of warning for those who want to buy the sol-664 figure, the robot damashii line is not doing good lately on quality control (some of them also has questionable design). Mainly the line's recent release of the main protagonist Gundam Ariel and Gundam Ariel Rebuild, the Gundams model kits are superior in both quality and design. I suggest to see some reviews of the line's other product before deciding to order them. The 30MM model kits line though is very solid, also being in the same line they will undoubtedly use the same connector and joints as the the rest of the 30MM product so you can mix and match them even if they are not from the AC6 line.
@@VaatiVidya Im buidling a bunch of Gunpla right now while watching this. Its AC6s fault, first i play the game, then i look online for figures, then i drift from the kotobukyia Armored Core kits into Bandai Gundam kits, now i have like 7 kits in front of me.
In my mind, the muzzle was just a signifier of him taking orders from Arquebus, even if Freud was the top Vesper, Rusty was an elite pilot nevertheless. But yes, being undercover is a good reason to hold back a bit and stay below the radar
17:32 The "garage" is actually one of those transport helicopters with the cylindrical belly we meet in missions, probably owned by Walter. In some missions you can even see that it is dropping you out while flying through the air.
To clarify the bit about Patches and Walter, the version of Patches that appears in Armored Core: For Answer wasn't voiced by William Vanderpuye, like his later iterations, instead he and Walter are both voiced by Patrick Seitz. Although localization wrote his name as "Patch" in For Answer, the kanji is the same in Japanese, so even if a few details are a little different, the intention is probably the same.
I think Rusty using the word “buddy” for referring to Raven is honestly an amazing choice, because the tone that he takes when saying it changes depending on the ending you go for changes from friendly to looking down on you. The tone itself holds so much meaning behind it.
It also makes a fun parallel to Pixy and Cypher from Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War, also produced by Bandai Namco, and the characters’ whokk look e relationship and arc
I feel like "battle buddy" should have been used for friendly interactions and disdained/disappointed "buddy" for bad ones, that would have been infinitely better.
There is another hidden All Mind dialogue if you finish all the combat logs right before the final mission. She will say something like: you are the type that only works right before the deadline?
I got this dialogue, I don’t see how there can be another option, since the last combat log is found in the mission before the allmind fight. Please someone correct me if I’m missing something
They announced the OST would be released in October 2023 and it was literally released within the last few hours before November 1st. I think they were taking a jab at themselves lol
@@pharaohmonkey1616I can help because that happened to me as well! In actuality, the last combat log is in the third to last mission, not second to last. So if you’re like me you probably did the second to last mission before realizing there was an unobtained combat log in the previous one, and if you’re like me, were surprised to find out that way that the next mission was the final one!
Cannot believe this game didn’t get a nomination for Audio & Sound design at the game awards. This game’s sound design is fantastic. The sound of landing hits with powerful weapons is so satisfying.
Theres actually a bit more to Steel Haze Ortus being similar to a Gundam! Not only does the design mirror that of a Gundam, but also the story surrounding Rusty getting it. Typically, in Gundam, protagonists usually go through something commonly referred to as a "mid-season upgrade", where the character's main Gundam Unit is destroyed or heavily damaged, and then they receive a brand-new, higher performing one (sometimes also developed in secret, much like Steel Haze Ortus) which is pretty much exactly how the events unfold for Rusty. If this was an intentional reference, it's very cool to see!
A little thing, but the Alba frame's arms are very heavily drawing on various mobile suit designs for its general structure, with the thin porportions but consistent level of thickness down the entire limb. But it's really apparent when you look at the elbow, not only are they very similar to the design used for federation mobile suits in Gundam which is very different than enver other ac in the game, but the forearms don't have the characteristic elbow extension seen on most AC designs.
Another interesting detail usually overlooked is just how many dead Tetrapods there are from Balam's attack on the Wall. Volta took at least six down before the artillery chipped him to death, he went down swinging. Almost as impressive as Walter and Carla slaying eight of the twelve ACs that Allmind sends after them before she sucker punches them.
About Honest Brute’s line “slow, slow, quick, quick, slow.” That’s the timing to an American Tango basic step, not foxtrot or waltz as many have guessed. Which I think is appropriate as tango is known to be the more dramatic and “combative” dance of the three.
That does make more sense. First time i heard him say that i was really confused what that was about and assumed it was just him singing the sound that his generator made since he directly talks to Milk Tooth after that line.
my mum heard me playing and said "that's the tango!" lol It's a way to accentuate his mental state is... odd. Ayre outright calls him strange after he finishes speaking
The note about the garage we use seeming mobile is pretty on point, because in mission intros where you can see your ac being dropped off by that big cargo helicopter, if you look closely at the inside view it actually *is* the garage. This explains how you can access it from anywhere, and how you can still access it after siding with ALLMIND. There's actually what seems to be alarm lights blaring in the garage after you do so, implying to me that it has hijacked the helicopter out of Walter's control for you to use it.
Did we not think that maaaaybe if we have an intercontinental garage that can fly around and follow us everywhere that maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe just maybe we didn't need to hijack a cargo cannon? Just me?
@@Ders0110Well, Balam asked us to carry out an advanced survey of the ice field, and considering there was such a mad rush to get there, taking the quicker route of the cargo launcher was probably the best bet to get the job done
5:50 Also, when you go for the Fires of Raven ending, it makes sense for him to call you "Buddy" aggressively, as in "Oh, you've done it now, buddy" which is a secondary use Buddy has in English that makes sense in the context of that ending, so bonus points for the localization.
One thing to note about Rokumonsen's haikus and haikus in general is that beyond their much more well known 5-7-5 nature, they also overwhelmingly tend to be about nature (although this rule is far less stringently enforce in modern haikus since its less common knowledge). As devoid of actual nature in the traditional sense as Rubicon is, Rokumonsen's haikus instead are focused on the "nature" of mercenaries and the pilots themselves.
In Japanese Haiku the rules are much more strict and it’s much more akin to how in English Sonnets have very specific rules. They have similar names for poems with similar structure but without the more esoteric rules. Specifically in regards to stuff like seasonal words which is a concept that exists in Japanese haiku which is completely lost in translation.
Not only do the LCs have flares, but the PCA Attack Helicopter in the rematch has them too. I should know, my first run of that mission was a 4 missile build.
@@sirpuffball6366 Flares have a cool down to them, if you bait it out with one, the other 3 can still hit. I ended up punching the last sliver of HP off that thing cause I got the timing down too late.
Theres also a painting by Leon Kelly made in 1958 titled “Rusty, 617” which depicts a dog/wolf similar to that of Rustys emblem in AC6. There was also a 617 who killed the Cataphract in the AC6 Reveal trailer, the one with the minigun
In the TGA reveal trailer, we see an Orbiter type AC with a missing arm looking to an AC fight between a tetrapod AC and Nightfall-Raven, so it's not impossible that 617 survived the Assault Armor in the Story reveal trailer.
So is rusty 617, one of Walter's hounds that went rogue? A log says that rusty has recently been behaving outside of established norms. And Walter says that it seems like Rusty knows who we are. So 617 might have assumed the identity of Rusty just like we did for Raven.
Bandai has announced Armored Core 6 mechs in their 30 minute missions series which is pretty cool also I thought it was common knowledge that the garage in game was one of those giant transport helicopters. You can see yourself launch from it mid-flight in quite a few missions.
One extra fact that I like to mention, Is that the mech that Ayre uses in the fires of raven ending, if you take a moment to analyze it you’ll realize that IB-SOL is actually the Armoured core 6’s version of NINEBALL. Every single attack is a modern take of Nineball seraph’s attack!
Well its kinda funny since HAL is the one that does the thing where, after you win, it slowly acts like its gonna fire again and then sorta just breaks/shuts down. That made me think of seraph.
AC revisits themes. When Allmind calls you and I. irregulars, that goes back to previous games. When it states you're too powerful and are thus a threat, that is a nod to Nineball Seraph. The IBIS Series is a nod to the IBIs AI in Silent Line, which tries to kill you with an oversized AC modeled after NB Seraph. These are nods to old fans over the years.
Was never a mech guy but I watched your video on playing all the old AC titles and it convinced me to give AC6 a try. I’m currently on my 9th run through the story with a garage full of builds I’ve spent days on. I’ve been considering trying a few of the old games as well and watching some of the classic mecha anime’s now that I know what I’ve been missing. So thanks for showing these games the passion they deserve. I wouldn’t be a new fan without your vids
Honestly the old AC games introduced me to the idea of running my own business. You couldn't just replay a mission and if you failed, you wrote off your loss and carried on. So I watched the brief planned efficient weapons for the task at hand to try and maximize my profit margin estimated repair costs if it went ass up and took missions I felt more assured of a successful outcome if I needed the rep boost haha. I must have been 9 or 10. I also realized that if you just keep taking missions from the same corp it could lead to problems after Kisargi? Posted a fake job that was just a hit on me essentially. Was really good pay for a simple task, when I got there, it was 3 fully loaded ACs and no job. lol (AND it was the only mission you couldn't fail and just pass on, it actually gave you a game over screen)
Just a correction, but Ortus isn't an arquebus designed AC, but rather Elcano. Seeing as how Elcano is referenced to have collaborated with BAWS on multiple parts it's likely another Rubicon based corporation that designed Ortus as a special request from the RLF.
They also collaborated with furlong. There's a log mentioning how other minor corps want to be mutual and not pick a side, like Melanite and takigawa. I personally would love to see more Ac squads. They could be from the other corps, off-world reinforcements for balam and arqubeus, other mercs who managed to get pass the pca, pca hired merc, or maybe other assets of the overseers.
There's actually a lot of interesting lore when it comes to HAL. Like how it was the last of the IBIS series and was specifically designed to be piloted by a human. It was also built to be a last defense to prevent a Coral Collapse.
There's no way HAL is not a nod to 2000: A Space Odyssey. Especially with Ayre being a glowing red light that talks to you. When Vaati talks about "the strange red glint throughout the game", HAL9000 was my first thought.
when V.II snail said "your crime is that you ignored me", I thought it was a reference to you ignoring Arquebus' orders to stay out of Institute city. really funny that it's a reference to the previous mission
Honestly whenever Rusty called me "Buddy" in the game, it made me think of Ace Combat Zero, and Solo wing Pixy who is your wingman for 90% of the game until near the very end when he finds a purpose truly worth fighting for (in his view) and ends up fighting you, but still considers you his friend, knowing you're destined to clash he wants to push you and him to your absolute limits, seeing the very best of both of you and himself.... Rusty reminds me of Pixy in that way, and while the music in the fight against Rusty during the Fires of Raven Ending is damned good, on my second playthrough I turned the game music down and listened to the song Zero from Ace Combat.... it fits remarkably well. (i highly recommend trying it for all you ace combat fans out there)
I'm surprised that you didn't mention that there is another interaction with Swinburne. When you spare his life, you can actually shoot him again before he leaves to kill him and there's extra dialogue with Ayre.
One interesting detail I've noticed in fight against Walter is how Walter's AC movements are different from regular AC's. Movements of an regular AC are really like those of a robot. Precise and with no unnecessary moves, their arms only move when you fire and legs only when needed. While Walter moves like an exhausted human. When he lands before 621 he kneels in a strange pose with no real purpose, his arms seem completly relaxed when he is standing still and when he is defeated he leans forward like he is tired. Makes it seem like the line between a human and a machine is very thin there.
@@taylordiclemente5163 yeah there are sketches that explain in Arquebes Snail saying "next time when do the augmentation don't take out the torso it is unnecessary base from today's data" something like that you can find it in game logs about all the MT leader and ACs pilots hidden lore.
God the Rusty fight ontop of the Xylem is just so anime and perfect, especially if you use a similar build to him. Honestly might be my favorite Fromsoft boss fight in general.
9 overall is a huge number for armored core, since for over half of the games a reocurring AC fight, normally in arena, was nineball and he was so important that a whole game was called ninebreaker because of him Rusty also calls you buddy as a short for "warbuddies" like he said in the message after the wall mission. He most likely is parroting Middle Flatwell when he says that, considering that Flatwell is Rusty's real boss and he too says that you are warbuddies if you take the mission to ambush V5Hawkins and Pater
@@Darlos9D Probably a case of Engrish behind it but yeah Nightfall really is just a pun on Nineball, in addition their the number 9 AC fought in the integration Arena which further solidifies the connection.
Man I just finished armored core I couldn't be more stoked to see a new vaati armored core secret video! Also during my entire time in the army, your fellow ranking soldiers next to you were your battle buddies.
This game is simply spectacular. I'm so glad that I hopped on the AC train. I am a true fan now. I cant wait to see if this gets a DLC to expand upon the story and introduce newer and more cooler AC parts. I genuinely hope that this a strong contender for Game of the Year. It truly deserves it.
621 has two identities- to Walter and the Corporations, he is a hound. To Ayre and the RLF, he is Raven. In the fight against V.I Freud in the ending where you side with Walter and Carla as opposed to Ayre and the RLF, he calls you a "hound on the hunt" when he expected "a scavenger bird".
Also, at 8:20 when you speak of the meaning of Ortus, another interesting fact is that ALBA is spanish (Rusty kind of likes Elcano parts, a posible spanish company, just as Schneider is undeniably German) means the ''first rays of sun before Sunrise''... Just that gave me goose bumps when I first realized. To contrast the dark, he must be the guiding light of Rubicon, but then meets you, 621, and basically hands over that title to you
17:20 tbh I always assumed the garage in game was the flying vehicle that picks u up at the end of the ice worm mission, you can see the inside of it during the intro of the "attack the watchpoint" mission and it looks pretty similar
Same. It's definatly it. Basicly at the start of each mission your AC just turned 90 degreces and droped dawn to mission. Few missions got this animation. Even Institute city one (where is Ibis boss fight).
@@gengius3617 AC is not small, but much smaller than the heli, because how else could heli operate as a base for AC with so much room to spare (garage looks quite roomy). Also the way heli flies makes it much different from the AC, I am no expert in the field, but something tells me that closed spaces are not good for big helis.
5:00 Same thing happens with Pixy in Ace Combat Zero since he is always calling the player Buddy. It is incredibly similar the path of both Pixy and Rusty
23:40 I'm convinced the juggernaut sniping down at him is what took out Volta. That or he got real unlucky with avoiding those wall turrets. Dudes way to much of a menace to have died from the mts on the ground.
There are 6 dead Tetrapods from the previous battle, Volta got worn down between Juggernaut (and probably the second one Rusty took out on his way up), the wall guns and them.
If you think about it Allmind chose both you and iguazu on purpose. It needed conflict to grow to trigger the release. It 100% got exactly what it wanted.
Oh and in addition to painting the visor; if you put decals on the Shade Eye's faceplate, it WILL respect the placement of your decals! I've been using it to put in little warning signs and signals marking where the visor closes, since that'd be pretty dangerous to sit next to if the machine's in operation.
@@FreedomFighterEx That's more the vibe I was going for. Giant death machines WILL need maintenance, and maintaining things that large takes a lot of people. though let's be real; the actual reason i put decals like that on my machines is that I like visual detail on my mechs. same as when i illustrate them lol.
Some more fun facts: 1) Alba is Spanish for Sunrise like the Latin Ortus. Sunrise is also the name of the studio behind Gundam and this is also reflected in the Alba's design (as you mentioned) especially the legs, head and skirt armor. Wing/SEED/00 and IBO designs especially. 2) Pulling strings could also be a reference to Walter and his emblem, as he literally pulls 621's strings. 3) The different part languages might be a reference to the big real life defense industries in coutries like the US/UK, China and Germany.
Hi Vaati! For #49; 30mm, or Thirty Minute Missions, is another model kit line by Bandai with a focus on customization and modular parts. This figure is just Robot Spirits, but AC6 model kits have been announced through the 30 Minute Mission line, which fits with AC's customization! We sadly don't have any other details except their release date, February 2024
This correction is appreciated and I hope Vaati notices it. It can be confusing because Bandai has both a hobby (model kit) division and an action figure division. As you stated, right now we have nothing beyond the initial announcement for ACVI model kits being produced by Bandai. I think it's also worth pointing out that the figure of Ayre's boss "AC" had a "For Display Only" label. In the past, some previewed "products" with this label have not actually gone ahead to full production. These items are often shown off to gauge consumer interest, and if there isn't enough "buzz" generated, then they simply aren't made. Time will tell if the figure is actually produced.
The BAWS Arsenal theme, Pulling Strings, definitely references ALLMIND's involvement. Aside from the fact that you're fighting against ALLMIND's stealth mechs, the theme plays again in NG++ right after she tells you to take out Snail.
Yes, those Ghost mechs have been trailing you for the whole game. On the Cleanup Grid 086 mission, if you return to the spot where you crash landed at the beginning of the game, you'll encounter one. You can also find wrecked Ghosts with combat logs that speak of ALLMIND's plans, such as the one in Underground 3. Also, after you kill battle log enemies for ALLMIND's LOGHUNT program, they will reappear with blue eye sensors instead of red.
0:22 I like to think of this as a callback to an obscure detail in Armored Core: For Answer. You can let a similarly giant enemy, the Spirit Of Motherwill, escape.
Oh wow! The level of subtle details in the dialogues based on situation is very impressive!! Credits to the people who localized this game for nailing everything.
The "Explosive Thrower" is one of my favourite weapons. It really excels on tank builds, particularly if you're using rolling treads for the leg parts. You can roll by your opponent and throw this out with a great level of success without losing momentum. Combine this with the whip and a couple of bazookas\grenade weapons, and you're laughing.
The PCA being able to use flares really is a neat detail on how much more advanced their crafts are. Being the only ones in the game that can use a kind of defense system like that in a mass produced way like the LCs is very fitting.
You are a gem, even besides your own analysis of games, all the support you give to other creators, you are THE pillar of the From Soft community. Been watching you since DS2, looking forward to a lot more years of viewing
SHADE EYE is the only head part in AC6 that changes form, but not the only part in the series that did so. AC4’s the only previous game that had one, with (I believe) the GLINT EYE helmet
So, his "3 hour lore video for AC6" ended up being 5.5 hours instead. Just, holy crap man. It's especially impressive given the fact that long-form content usually doesn't perform as well (I think, I don't have numbers and such, but I'm basing this off the fact youtube is pushing harder and harder for youtube shorts) unless the algorithm plays nice. So seeing Vati commit to it regardless is impressive. I pray he continues to find great enjoyment and success.
Loved this game, and its a treat to see all these secrets that I missed. Pretty neat to see people have duels, played a tank so it was just me charging forth and messing people up with heavy fire power. Course that's usually to my detriment in pvp but the rule of cool is plenty fun
I knew about the flares. I did a full missile build in a playthrough and those LCs kept DESTROYING ME. Eventually I figured out why I couldn't hit them. I really hope they add flared with the dlc, they would be EPIC, especially for pvp!!
7:14 The Ortus isn't an Arquebus prototype, it's an Encano-Furlong collaboration. Encano is the high-end RLF sympathetic corp (contrast with BAWS) who makes the Firmeza (which is the "artistic" armored core) and needle based weaponry, and the reason Ortus looks the way it does is because of Encano's tendency for style, again seen in their Firmeza line. You can maybe make the assumption that Rusty stole the data from Arquebus, but the Alba's part descriptions suggests Furlong, instead of Arquebus, provided supplementary tech needed to realise the Alba frame. 28:10 Rokumonsen's name is also an allusion in how he's the secret sixth member of the five ac squad of the RLF, whose names actually correspond to the names of fingers reinforcing the five theme (little ziyi, ring freddie, middle flatwell, index durham, and ofc thumb dolmayan). So in a sense, he's the sixth ranger to the RLF's power rangers lol
@taylordiclemente5163 I probably missed that one lol, could you direct me to that combat log (coz yeah thematically it makes sense why encano would then help RLF, they're a luxury brand and a corporation as stuffy as that wouldn't help a revolt unless they were profiting from it somehow, I (due to missing context) just missed the log indicating this)
I wonder if RE the golden shields they’re blue now to better contrast against the rubiconian sky? Additionally isn’t it shown at multiple chapter ending missions that the garage barrel is the interior of a big helicopter, since you’re dropped out of it in those mission start cutscenes
Note about coral generators affecting expansions: there is an argument to be made that this NERFS assault armor, at least as far as pvp goes. One of the main uses for it is to immediately break pulse armor and stagger the opponent, which can only happen because assault armor only has PA interference when its, well, pulse. Try it with coral and you will only take off about a third of it.
24:11 I’ve been playing with it and it genuinely makes the game so much more fun! Especially since it works on enemy AC’s as well, it can make 1v1’s absolutely insane as the enemy can chain massive combos!
Also, Rusty's AC "Alba" means Dawn in spanish. The same applies to every Elcano part: Viento - Wind, Fortaleza - Fortress, Firmeza - Firmness and Trueno - Thunder. I should finish the video before commenting... 😂
Been eagerly anticipating your AC6 lore content! The lore and characters of this game are enthralling to me. Looking forward to seeing your take on it! PS This video was incredible, the attention to detail in AC6 is so fantastic
17:30 The garage is actually the inside of those giant transport helicopters you see all over the place. That would explain why it's so mobile. There are also several missions where it seems you are prepped in the garage and then immediately dropped into the mission... by a helicopter. Also, the garage walls resemble the large cylindrical middle sections of said transport helicopter.
Tiny detail but "stowaway" can also refer to the fact that 621 is using someone else's license so you are in a sense a "stowaway" in the garage since you aren't really supposed to be there
So somthing i noticed in missions like the end of chapter 1 is that you drop out of a helicopter and it looks like the helicopter is what's holding the garage unit. so your entire base of operations may be constantly on the move.
The image of 621 going "fuck it we ball" going straight to the real deal without even going through the training program is a pretty cool image implying their a natural
For #34 I used to work with a guy that only spoke in haiku. Apparently it gets really easy after you do it for a while. He says it started as a joke but it became more natural to him, kind of like learning combos in a fighting game.
the build you called your favorite was almost identical to the one that I beat most of the game with. It was the build that finally made the combat *click* when fighting cel240 and it carried me completely unchanged to the end of ng++. I feel so incredibly proud to know you found it and loved it too.
I've actually recreated my Next from AC FA for my current playthrough of AC6. I've called it Forgotten Dragon with the backstory of it being ancient technology being controlled by the Coral to defend itself. I have duel Vientos, the plasma whip & I change out the right shoulder weapon as needed
The Red Glint is actually just an unusually common thing in the Armored Core franchise when you start paying attention to the other games. Heck, the red glint right at the very beginning of AC6's reveal trailer instantly had me hyped because of that.
Not that it matters now a year later, but the comment about the "garage being mobile" is confirmed in the cutscene of the mission "Destroy the Ice Worm" because we see for a moment the garage opening from the inside of a cargo helicopter before you drop in the ice field. Meaning that the "garage" is just a container, that can be transported via anything, even a helicopter.
7:57 Talking about the Sunrise and Rusty's frame name, the frame parts name is another reference to the sunrise. Alba, in Spanish, is the first ray of sunshine in the morning, and also another way to say sunrise.
One detail I just put together is that all the AC pilots of the RLF form a hand. Thumb Dolmayn, Index Dunham, Middle Flattwell, Ring Candle, and Little Ziyi. Thumb holding the RLF together, Index the frontline, Middle the tallest, most recognized, Ring for devotion, and Little being the youngest member of the Hand. They are the Hand guiding the people of Rubicon and the Hand seeking to exert the will of the Coral. That's such a cool detail. Also I have reason to believe Rusty was the original Little. Given Ziyi seems incredibly young and Rusty easily outclasses her. More than likely he was originally part of the Hand and when going undercover he got augmented surgery from the RLF, forged current gen documents, and joined the Vespers with a fake ID.
Takayuki Yanase also designed mech in video games like Xenoblade Chronices X. Other names listed in the credits as mechanical designer (Shoji Kawamori and Kazutaka Miyatake) are also established legends in mecha anime production.
On the subject of part names, there's a little double hidden meaning going on with Steel Haze Ortus. The body parts are called the Alba series, which is a Latin word with a couple of meanings. One of those is, "bright," which obviously ties back to the sunrise motif. But another is, "white." And in the original Gundam series, the Zeon forces referred to the Gundam as "The White Mobile Suit." So the part name not only reinforces Rusty's themes, it also gives a little nod to the frame's visual inspiration.
I was confused on why I got a bunch of new viewers today, but after watching this video, I can probably guess why 😅 No clue how you managed to squeeze a 40-minute video in while also working on another 3-hour long project, but I think this turned out great, and thank you so much for that shout out!
A little more fun facts. In Japanese fanbase of AC6, there’s another popular character who became a meme that went viral in the community, that is AllMIND. Reason is that despite being obsessive compulsive AI and standing in the way like a mastermind, there's a high probability that she's actually quite incompetent. For example, although the arm weapons are properly sequenced by number, the shoulder weapons have the same model number, 45-091 JVLN BETA and 45-091 ORBT. Also in the briefing of Coral Export Denial mission she shows you a pie chart that explains how 1.6% of the total coral amount has been transferred to corporate forces. however, according to analysis by fanbase, it seems the proportion is actually indicating 2.6%. On top of that, during upon mission she can handle only 4 choppers if you allow them to flee and this is considered as that she’s only firing eight shots at a time with a full charge of KRSV, and she might be missing half of them. And apparently they made imaginary anime girl looking illustrations for ALLMIND and all handler’s hounds.
The level played at the japanese fan event you mentioned at 24:40 was also avaliable to play at the Gamescom Cologne from August 23rd to 27th. AC6 released on August 24th so you could have played at least one day before release day if you wanted. I was visiting after release and used the opportunity as a demo on how the game played since before I have never played any AC title. I tried the level two times, once with the yellow biped AC and once again with the blue quad leg AC, but I never made it past the Smart Cleaner. Liked the game, but playing on what I think was a PS5 with less than 60 frames per second wasnt a pleasure. Glad to play on PC now, where framerate isnt an issue.
Probably obvious already but Steel Haze is the White Glint of AC6. The naming convention of White Glint and Steel Haze are the same. They also share their love for being very fast ACs and both play a similar deuteragonist role in their respective games.

Me realizing that the wolf emblem on Ortus no longer has a muzzle and most likely signifies Rusty no longer holding back makes him so much cooler
it's also when he's repping the rlf instead of arquebus. his mask has come off
Not holding back, more like no longer held back as he is free to be the liberator of Rubicon
The shape in the background also changes from the Arquebus rhombus to the RLF style.
In my mind, the muzzle was just a signifier of him taking orders from Arquebus, even if Freud was the top Vesper, Rusty was an elite pilot nevertheless. But yes, being undercover is a good reason to hold back a bit and stay below the radar
The background shape matches those of the RLF members, too.

Okay thank you, because I was about to scream if credit got taken away from my boi Patrick Seitz

Anyone think the voice of the doctor from the trailer sounded familiar…?
I think Rusty using the word “buddy” for referring to Raven is honestly an amazing choice, because the tone that he takes when saying it changes depending on the ending you go for changes from friendly to looking down on you. The tone itself holds so much meaning behind it.
I thought it sounded more like pain in his voice imo, after having been through so much with you
It also makes a fun parallel to Pixy and Cypher from Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War, also produced by Bandai Namco, and the characters’ whokk look e relationship and arc
Though it does kind of change his original characterization, where he honors you til the very end regardless of your choices
I feel like "battle buddy" should have been used for friendly interactions and disdained/disappointed "buddy" for bad ones, that would have been infinitely better.

Cannot believe this game didn’t get a nomination for Audio & Sound design at the game awards. This game’s sound design is fantastic. The sound of landing hits with powerful weapons is so satisfying.

From working in a factory, it sounds super realistic to metal clashing at all different angles you can hear the details

First time i heard him say that i was really confused what that was about and assumed it was just him singing the sound that his generator made since he directly talks to Milk Tooth after that line.
my mum heard me playing and said "that's the tango!" lol
It's a way to accentuate his mental state is... odd. Ayre outright calls him strange after he finishes speaking
I mean.. isn’t the classic 3/4 of pattern of waltzes hard to mistake? That pretty obviously wasn’t a waltz time signature.
Just me?

All the more fitting that ALLMIND uses a modified SOL for phase 2 of its fight.
Huh...no kidding. That's neat
Well its kinda funny since HAL is the one that does the thing where, after you win, it slowly acts like its gonna fire again and then sorta just breaks/shuts down. That made me think of seraph.
@@Darlos9DAllmind kinda did that with the melee swipe which looks like it'll land but then the AC blows up.
Was really good pay for a simple task, when I got there, it was 3 fully loaded ACs and no job. lol
(AND it was the only mission you couldn't fail and just pass on, it actually gave you a game over screen)
One of us!
It is arquebus design as the schematics were stolen from arquebus by rusty.
@@Jcoaerlrsiocno Bunch of Arquebus tech stolen and combined with Furlong and Elcano tech for a next gen design.

The arms do as well, though its less noticeable.
There's actually a lot of interesting lore when it comes to HAL. Like how it was the last of the IBIS series and was specifically designed to be piloted by a human. It was also built to be a last defense to prevent a Coral Collapse.

(i highly recommend trying it for all you ace combat fans out there)
The Steel Haze Ortus' parts are all called "alba" which also means dawn in spanish.
Which has relevance due to the lyrics of Steel Haze (Rusted Pride)
I'm surprised that you didn't mention that there is another interaction with Swinburne. When you spare his life, you can actually shoot him again before he leaves to kill him and there's extra dialogue with Ayre.
Did Walter teach you that 😅
One interesting detail I've noticed in fight against Walter is how Walter's AC movements are different from regular AC's.
Considering his possible condition, it's likely he was given the Graze Ein treatment
Very much like the Human Plus (augmented human) test subjects in the first AC game. They became mentally unstable.
I assume Walter underwent Arquebus' reeducation.
@@taylordiclemente5163 yeah there are sketches that explain in Arquebes

God the Rusty fight ontop of the Xylem is just so anime and perfect, especially if you use a similar build to him. Honestly might be my favorite Fromsoft boss fight in general.
9 overall is a huge number for armored core, since for over half of the games a reocurring AC fight, normally in arena, was nineball and he was so important that a whole game was called ninebreaker because of him
Rusty also calls you buddy as a short for "warbuddies" like he said in the message after the wall mission. He most likely is parroting Middle Flatwell when he says that, considering that Flatwell is Rusty's real boss and he too says that you are warbuddies if you take the mission to ambush V5Hawkins and Pater
there is a theory that the rusty one is 617

To contrast the dark, he must be the guiding light of Rubicon, but then meets you, 621, and basically hands over that title to you
Schneider is German for tailor. It literally means "cutter."
17:20 tbh I always assumed the garage in game was the flying vehicle that picks u up at the end of the ice worm mission, you can see the inside of it during the intro of the "attack the watchpoint" mission and it looks pretty similar
Ye I'm pretty sure the garage is the helicopter
Same. It's definatly it. Basicly at the start of each mission your AC just turned 90 degreces and droped dawn to mission. Few missions got this animation. Even Institute city one (where is Ibis boss fight).
@@gengius3617 Hm, the Institute one doesn't make a lot of sense, because how did the helicopter followed you down all these tunnels?
@@dimaveshkin AC is not small also! If you clear a tunnels, why hellicopter can't follow you? And all of this tunnels have alot of space for it.
Rusty reminds me of Joshua O'Brien in AC4. When Rusty first called me buddy I thought, here we go again.

Some more fun facts:
1) Alba is Spanish for Sunrise like the Latin Ortus.
Kotobukiya also announced Armored Core 6 kits, which will likely be closer in scale to the older AC kits they're reprinting than the 30ms ones
I've been waiting for that Armored Core 6 lore.
Not to mention that the whole BAWS is literally "making corporations to fund RLF" scheme, in a way.
In the Cleanup Grid 135 mission, there's a hidden stealth mech in a hole near where you started the game.
0:22 I like to think of this as a callback to an obscure detail in Armored Core: For Answer. You can let a similarly giant enemy, the Spirit Of Motherwill, escape.
5:48 my uncle always calls me buddy. And it felt like I was fighting alongside him in armored core. Kinda weird, but really really heartwarming to me.
I love how the ACs' modularity allows them to win out over the PCA's supposedly more advanced tech.
I think the Red Glint is representative of the horizon and ties neatly into the nightfall/dawn naming you mentioned to boot!
Rusty and White Glint's ranks could also both be references to 9 Ball as well.
The number 9 could be the series’ arc number as a whole.

Been watching you since DS2, looking forward to a lot more years of viewing
SHADE EYE is the only head part in AC6 that changes form, but not the only part in the series that did so. AC4’s the only previous game that had one, with (I believe) the GLINT EYE helmet
Also ALOT of head parts in AC5
The scanning-head also changes form, but not in round, but it folds down the scanning wings of the head when you are in the garage.
19:44 this explains so much about why the missle tracking sometimes targets absolutely nothing
I knew about the flares. I did a full missile build in a playthrough and those LCs kept DESTROYING ME. Eventually I figured out why I couldn't hit them. I really hope they add flared with the dlc, they would be EPIC, especially for pvp!!
Especially against the Carla missile spammers.
Combat logs imply that Rusty stole the proto-ALBA plans from Schneider.
@taylordiclemente5163 I probably missed that one lol, could you direct me to that combat log (coz yeah thematically it makes sense why encano would then help RLF, they're a luxury brand and a corporation as stuffy as that wouldn't help a revolt unless they were profiting from it somehow, I (due to missing context) just missed the log indicating this)
>The RLF AC pilots are named after a hand.
How did I *not* realize that. I spent the entire game wondering why Dolmayan's first name was Thumb.
I wonder if RE the golden shields they’re blue now to better contrast against the rubiconian sky?
Additionally isn’t it shown at multiple chapter ending missions that the garage barrel is the interior of a big helicopter, since you’re dropped out of it in those mission start cutscenes
The "slow, slow, quick quick, slow" is the tempo for a tango. I saw this as a "time to fight" or "let's dance"
Best action game of the past few years and sadly the most underrated...
Too real
Unfortunately hi fi rush would win that cuz casuals and journos doesn't like mechs
Best action game since Sekiro.
This game is so underrated. It’s sad that so many people skipped on this masterpiece 😢
Agreed. I’m at the point where if Fromsoft is involved, I’m checking it out.
It was a choice between this and gunpla, can only do one every couple weeks. Glad I finally got it.
It's even on sale. I can't believe I waited this long.
Gotta love AC but with Vaati it's even better! Good to see it man!
I knew this video wouldn’t disappoint. FromSoft goes so hard with its world building and lore.
Also, Rusty's AC "Alba" means Dawn in spanish. The same applies to every Elcano part: Viento - Wind, Fortaleza - Fortress, Firmeza - Firmness and Trueno - Thunder.
I should finish the video before commenting... 😂
But... Will there be a lore video? I'm "prepared to cry", if there is not.
Been eagerly anticipating your AC6 lore content! The lore and characters of this game are enthralling to me. Looking forward to seeing your take on it! PS This video was incredible, the attention to detail in AC6 is so fantastic
the fact that Snail gets pissed at you for fighting him and also ignoring him with to the same magnitude is so incredibly Snail it hurts
Still waiting for that massive AC6 lore video 😩
17:30
The garage is actually the inside of those giant transport helicopters you see all over the place. That would explain why it's so mobile. There are also several missions where it seems you are prepped in the garage and then immediately dropped into the mission... by a helicopter. Also, the garage walls resemble the large cylindrical middle sections of said transport helicopter.
Surprised you didn't mention that all of "Cinder" Carla's mech parts are food related
I feel so incredibly proud to know you found it and loved it too.
still waiting on that 3 hour lore video!
me too
26:56 God fucking damnit LMFAO.
The dude died as he lived, cracking a Haiku
I've actually recreated my Next from AC FA for my current playthrough of AC6.
I've called it Forgotten Dragon with the backstory of it being ancient technology being controlled by the Coral to defend itself.
I have duel Vientos, the plasma whip & I change out the right shoulder weapon as needed
Where is the 3 hour lore explanation that we were promised?
The Red Glint is actually just an unusually common thing in the Armored Core franchise when you start paying attention to the other games.
Heck, the red glint right at the very beginning of AC6's reveal trailer instantly had me hyped because of that.
Walter and Nagai might well be family names, in which case WLT could also refer to handler Walter's father directly.
Not that it matters now a year later, but the comment about the "garage being mobile" is confirmed in the cutscene of the mission "Destroy the Ice Worm" because we see for a moment the garage opening from the inside of a cargo helicopter before you drop in the ice field.
Meaning that the "garage" is just a container, that can be transported via anything, even a helicopter.
the visor of the raven doesnt only move when ya lock on
it also moves when ya overboost
7:57 Talking about the Sunrise and Rusty's frame name, the frame parts name is another reference to the sunrise. Alba, in Spanish, is the first ray of sunshine in the morning, and also another way to say sunrise.
Honestly that explains why handled Walter has that trustworthy energy that patches gives off.😺
One detail I just put together is that all the AC pilots of the RLF form a hand.
8:58 Man you didn’t have to hit us in the feels with this amazing cinematic shot.
But I’m glad you did.
On the subject of part names, there's a little double hidden meaning going on with Steel Haze Ortus. The body parts are called the Alba series, which is a Latin word with a couple of meanings. One of those is, "bright," which obviously ties back to the sunrise motif. But another is, "white." And in the original Gundam series, the Zeon forces referred to the Gundam as "The White Mobile Suit."
So the part name not only reinforces Rusty's themes, it also gives a little nod to the frame's visual inspiration.
That's probably another White Glint reference as well.
I was confused on why I got a bunch of new viewers today, but after watching this video, I can probably guess why 😅
No clue how you managed to squeeze a 40-minute video in while also working on another 3-hour long project, but I think this turned out great, and thank you so much for that shout out!
Handler Walter deserves A prepare to cry video
Probably obvious already but Steel Haze is the White Glint of AC6. The naming convention of White Glint and Steel Haze are the same. They also share their love for being very fast ACs and both play a similar deuteragonist role in their respective games.
this is so cool. I can't wait for the lore video
