Apart from the looks, they also reduce body roll quite a bit and it makes even more fun driving the car around corners. The decrease in comfort is minimal and best of all, they don't interfere with bigger rims, since they are designed to not go lower under full load than the stock suspension. Lowered springs and struts better value if you are just going to set and forget coilovers. Coilovers only good if you want that EXACT fitment, or track your car every other weekend. However, its hard to order the right springs for the right fitment, if you can't see (ie if others haven't been there before) how low it will sit with a certain part number spring.

There was a time when I answered many suspension-related questions on EvolutionM. The one that comes to mind right now is a guy who dumped his Evo with shitty Asian coilovers- Megan, IIRC - as to minimize the wheel gap, installed the biggest RSB available, had his wheels with some oddball offset bolted to spacers, and wanted to know the alignment specs. As a result of the mods, his car's geometry was so messed up that we had no idea what to suggest. Functionally, not only did his Evo mimic the cornering prowess of a snowplow, it was outright dangerous to corner at speed. Not that it really mattered, as he only drove the car, slowly, to park at a show. I mention this in case a person reading the post is interested in the actual act of driving, not sitting still. Do yourself a big favor and look into the constraints posed by the platform's geometry. Then mod the car, if you prefer, within those same constraints. Good luck.
Your channel is getting really good. 1.) How about functional and cosmetic factors into making your wheels look really good. Personally, I have to have a Brembo Big Brake Kit on my car. It enhances the look of the car, it's highly functional with reducing brake fade, and the stares I get from people are constant. Then there's light weight lug nuts or personalized color options of rims or even painting the center hubs of the OEM parts, because it usually does rust when no center caps come with the rims. 2.) The parameters into making wheels and tire fit into your car. I don't like the hyper strectched look. However, I must even admit, a 245/40 series tires on a 10.5 inch wide rim does look good when it's done right. When considering offset, width of rims, tire size, and other factors, I've seen some pretty amazing set ups. In the end, some of the best looking set ups, well, curb rash is only a matter of time. 3.) The concavity of rim choices... Advan and Volk are companies that come into mind where more concavity=bad ass looking rims. 4.) How to deal with and make sure you don't run into CURB RASH. How does the community deal with this. I paid 3200.00 for my Advan RZII's. So, you best believe, curb rash is always on my mind. 5.) A high emphasis of rims (with the right size and tire combo) is the most drastic change you can do to a car to make it look incredible.
I'd love for you guys to carry an air suspension for the 2010-2013 Fortes or even the 2014-2017 Fortes. You'd have a decent amount of people buying from you and I'd be one of them. Other than that, I'd love to see you guys talk about proper ways to install all the lowering systems and the negative effects improper installation could have on the car or safety. For my purposes the best thing are adjustable coilovers. As I don't want to slam my car, just adjust the height a bit for better fitment and damping for a comfortable ride quality
You never mention the maintenance involved with Air suspension specially for those in the east coast with heavy winter.. Tanks have to be drained and make sure to add brake fluid so it won't freeze in the winter.. Also air leaks, fittings and valves need to be retighten at times. NYC roads are a MF!.
Jacob Holter good point about the check valves. But in most cases, the leader hides get so hot coming off the compressor hear, physics wont let it stay frozen.

LOL... so Koni, Bilstein etc. are making stiffer/shorter/adjustable shocks just for fun? Springs in the lowering range of 40mm-100mm are designed to be used with such shocks
i never said anything about wearing prematurely dickhead, i said that its not really needed because lowering springs are DESIGNED to be used on stock suspension..
A lower spring with stock shocks will not last long because the shock works with a bigger distance than the spring, making the shock easily get to the tops as you drive through a pot hole, etc... reducing a lot the lifespan of the shocks. The most logic change is to use coilovers
The real issue with lowering: premature axle wear. Only if there was a new invention to go low without ruining other components (besides scraping frame)
Do you guys mean on like the trunk door? My trunk doesn't really have a roof, I've got a e46 wagon, so I've not really got a traditional "trunk" per se.
Ahh. see i only own sedans and i plan on bagging my Gs300. I've seen GTi owners mount the tank to the hatch. although less common than the spare tire well.
You asked which option I plan on installing next. I'am looking forward installing air suspension on my weekendcruiser, because it increases the versatility of the car. The car, a mark 1 VW Derby from 1980, is currently sitting on coilovers and looks great, but I am annoyed that I can't bring more than one friend on a ride, before the rear tires rub the fender.
What u need to lower your mini truck: 50$ 3 or 4 inch lowering blocks for the rear. And as for the front end, you literally tighten the nuts for your torsion bars. Tada
He forgot the mention that air bags rip like a MF and most of the time there not covered and if they are the take forever to get your replacement so you might what to buy a spare or two
If you tune them right and pick the right spring rate, absolutely. Most of the time though, you’re going to get a bit of a stiffer ride since by lowering the car, you’re going to reduce the amount of suspension travel that your car had before it fully cycles and the body hits the ground. The lower you go, the stiffer you’re going to have the coils
I think I'm the only one here who wants an adjustable semi-performance suspension but also wants to keep the car at stock height. What are my options, coilovers?
BC Racing does have something I'd buy, the problem, as with many other manufacturers I've looked into before, is that they don't have a kit specifically made for the 00-04 Suzuki Wagon R+. Maybe one of their existing kits for another model, like the 00-05 Suzuki Ignis, is compatible with my car, but, if so, how could I find out which?
Ian Flynn Flynn I own a 350z, I don't wanna slam the car cause it's already low as shit, maybe like half an inch or an inch, can I get specific springs for something like that?
We recommend coilovers because of the ease of adjustability. With coilovers you can still get to near stock height and go as low as your coils or car will let you.
Hussam Mustafa if you have the money coilovers they are adjustable so you can change your height & it comes with new shocks and springs to me that's a Great deal because my car is older and will need those replaced eventually
Got a new set of Eibachs $135 for my TL, testing them till spring(see how I did that) . Waiting to install Silvers with Voodoo Thirteen camber, caster, toe bars and Enkei ty's wraped with Michelins. Spring in Montana, come on. All about functionality. ? What next 89 Blazer build.
I bought and installed d2 lowering springs on my 2017 civic si and was wondering if there was anything i could do to lower my car more with the d2 springs i bought
i wanna lower my car but i have a steep gravel driveway which is pretty uneven, so i would get air suspension but that is more than my entire car costs, so as a 16 year old owning my first car i think ill wait on it.
What about air cup kits the few things I have read it's a good idea you get to air up when needed if one those go bad just ride on the hight of your coilovers are set
I have a stock 2004 Chevy s10 what lowering method would you recommend? I have no clue I just want to lower the truck and I’m not sure Pls leave feedback.
considering some sort of air lift on my f30 and coilovers on my E36 drift project. Found out that it was about 1,000 dollar for coilovers on the f30 so I thought why not just do it as I want my car to be right away :)
Has anyone looked into FortuneAutos Air Lift systems? It’s like coilovers with air suspension together. It has cups that are above the coilovers that lower or go higher
I'm running BC Racing BR's, my gf is running BC BR's and never going to switch to air. If you wanna be low, you're low all the time. Airsuspension is just cheating and I'm not saying this like I'm broke, I could buy airsuspension if I wanted to. But driving with coilovers is more fun to me. 1" clearance from the ground and I can go everywhere I want and so does my gf. She's also running a 1" clearance and never had a problem getting where se wants.
Question: If bags work with air pressure, that means the lower the car is the softer the ride gets? Isn't that the opposite of what you'd want? Not just for "sporty" driving but for daily commuting. I mean, for daily driving you'd want a stock or "high" ride height which would be stiffer/less comfortable due to the higher pressure. So, if you want a comfortable/softer ride you got to lower it, but due to the ride being low and soft/bouncy you might scrape (either because of it being too low or too soft) Is my train of thought correct?
as a 15 year old car guy I find channels like these informative and help me quite allot on how my first car is going to be.

The car, a mark 1 VW Derby from 1980, is currently sitting on coilovers and looks great, but I am annoyed that I can't bring more than one friend on a ride, before the rear tires rub the fender.
That sounds badass
My car is on stock suspension and it scrapes, all these low roads where I live😂 I still wanna lower it tho
I'm gonna start with springs
I'm going for springs. I don't want to fuss with coilovers, and I have Mazda suspension so its already super fun to drive
What would you recommend for a daily driver
Anything with 4 wheels and has under 60k miles 😂👍
What u need to lower your mini truck: 50$ 3 or 4 inch lowering blocks for the rear. And as for the front end, you literally tighten the nuts for your torsion bars. Tada
I've ran H&R Sport's w/ Tokico Illumina's on all my Honda's, almost two decades. No thank you, coilovers.
Hey switch coil over is good for a 4dr car that's lowered. And you can still ride back passengers without bottoming out
5:08 that shot tho
COLD BLOODED 😍
Springs are if you're still into an OEM look..besides that..why? They usually have a rake you're stuck with too.
He forgot the mention that air bags rip like a MF and most of the time there not covered and if they are the take forever to get your replacement so you might what to buy a spare or two
Killa Namikaze just get a set of damn accuair’s and you’ll be good
Europe uses hydros in the stance game. You can go bagged, juiced, or static. US hydros only used for lowrider almost exclusively.
Hydros are definitely a great option too, not as common and not as practical. Still a way you can lower your car! 🖤
Can coilovers provide a soft and comfortable ride? Better than stock? South Florida roads are hell.
MrNightpwner no they give you a stiff ride
If you tune them right and pick the right spring rate, absolutely. Most of the time though, you’re going to get a bit of a stiffer ride since by lowering the car, you’re going to reduce the amount of suspension travel that your car had before it fully cycles and the body hits the ground. The lower you go, the stiffer you’re going to have the coils
Function form are some very soft coil overs. I had some on my wife’s TSX and honestly I couldn’t tell it apart from stock EXCEPT less body roll.
MrNightpwner haha...try moving to malaysia😊
Lol I use to live in Miami ( sunny isles) and so on I live in Seattle wanna talk about bad roads come up here brah 😂
can you do a vid on explaining racing rims? Why are they so expensive, what is important about them, etc?
Sure!
BC Racing is bae
Just ordered my 3P thanks to you guys! So informative in all your videos. 👍🏼
I think I'm the only one here who wants an adjustable semi-performance suspension but also wants to keep the car at stock height.
What are my options, coilovers?
mid range coilovers (such as BC Racing) with adjustable dampening and set to your stock height
Same here.
BC Racing does have something I'd buy, the problem, as with many other manufacturers I've looked into before, is that they don't have a kit specifically made for the 00-04 Suzuki Wagon R+. Maybe one of their existing kits for another model, like the 00-05 Suzuki Ignis, is compatible with my car, but, if so, how could I find out which?
drop them an e-mail or one of the suppliers they will be more than welcome to help you and advise you or even offer to make something custom for you
Good point. Thank you!
I want to look into air suspension for my 2011 toyota camry se. But I don't think any popular makers make them
One word: hydraulics
Nickurmex Gta Sa reference?
RacingCart - RC Playz how is that a gta reference?
Daniel Johnson GTA San Andreas was well known for the ability to add hydraulics (the ones in lowriders) to almost any car in the game.
bruh gta didnt invent hydraulics
MrBASSMan hes young give him a break haha
you could put cinderblocks in your car using the weight to lower it
static or die
bags are strictly for groceries
We might have a few guys over here that might beg to differ! 👀😂
Alex is standing in front of it the whole time but that Solstice looks fantastic.
Another con of air suspension is the noise from the compressors loading up air
Dylan Vendt nz You will get used to it
Dylan Vendt nz simple solution: rockwool the area where the compressor sitting at
The noise only last a minute at most. Mine shuts up usually after 15-20 seconds
sick to my stomach of how informative this channel is.
Coil overs or lowering springs if I just wanna lower my car just a bit?
Hussam Mustafa coilovers are for going slammed, springs usually can drop about 2 inches
Ian Flynn Flynn I own a 350z, I don't wanna slam the car cause it's already low as shit, maybe like half an inch or an inch, can I get specific springs for something like that?
If you have the money for coilovers get coilovers!
Do a video of lifting cars. Coilovers sets that help with lifting or other mods for vehicle such as Subarus for rally and such
I don't have money😂so i juz cut my springs...its low as possible now
Benjamin Thomas u suicidal?
Noob
check yourself before you end yourself 😂😂😂haha
fed Z okay
Why did you cut your springs? that's last year's trick! I just took mine out completely!
Cut springs = honda/volvo fans
In Brazil cut springs is vw fans (most of the cars here looks like trash :/ )
Can't wait to get my tein Lowering springs (07 accord)
Make sure to add your car to our gallery when you do!
Bags are for groceries I don't want groceries near my car.
D Carden typical
I got groceries in my lowered car the other day , because I was pretty hungry after havin like 20 bitches on my dick because of my lowered car.
I bought and installed d2 lowering springs on my 2017 civic si and was wondering if there was anything i could do to lower my car more with the d2 springs i bought
dude just cut your springs 😂
i wanna lower my car but i have a steep gravel driveway which is pretty uneven, so i would get air suspension but that is more than my entire car costs, so as a 16 year old owning my first car i think ill wait on it.
When are you guys going to get into vids for lifted trucks tire and wheel combos?
A Han look up Custom Offset that’s Fitment’s inc sister company who specialize in trucks. 👍🏾
Right on
Custom Offsets is the go-to for all your truck needs!
Hated my Yaris iA until I realized what I can do to it. Hoping To lower it, replace the wheels, and maybe even find a body kit for it
The easiest way to lower ur car is just put bricks and that will lower ur car just some cement
Straight frame!
Rubén Cabrera 😂😂😂😂
That's how I lowered my Pontiac....concrete in the trunk cut the front springs....rode like a skateboard.....didn't matter it was the 80's
Economical option to lower a 1998 S70 Volvo only about 2" while maintaining ride comfort? Thks!
screwdriver to the tire will lower your car in seconds
Very very true 😂
What about air cup kits the few things I have read it's a good idea you get to air up when needed if one those go bad just ride on the hight of your coilovers are set
We haven't looked to much into air cups, but it's definitely another option to add a little bit of adjustability on the go.
or you just cut your springs like a swede
I have a stock 2004 Chevy s10 what lowering method would you recommend? I have no clue I just want to lower the truck and I’m not sure
Pls leave feedback.
considering some sort of air lift on my f30 and coilovers on my E36 drift project. Found out that it was about 1,000 dollar for coilovers on the f30 so I thought why not just do it as I want my car to be right away :)
There ya go man! 😂 You should upload your ride to our gallery! bit.ly/2Ma4oca
Has anyone looked into FortuneAutos Air Lift systems? It’s like coilovers with air suspension together. It has cups that are above the coilovers that lower or go higher
We haven't looked to much into air cups, but it's definitely another option to add a little bit of adjustability on the go.
Ayyyee those mustang clips were in Orlando lol. Represent 🤘😂
She's also running a 1" clearance and never had a problem getting where se wants.
too each there own 😊
I just bought tein flex z coilovers a for my 04 accord. Bout to be hella fitted
So, if you want a comfortable/softer ride you got to lower it, but due to the ride being low and soft/bouncy you might scrape (either because of it being too low or too soft)
Is my train of thought correct?
