Take it from me, and learn from my mistakes. If you have reflector housings, make sure you get LED’s that are specific for your car. This way the Light emitting diodes are in the right place, comparable to where the burning filament would be with the halogen. Additionally, make sure you adjust your headlights off a wall as to make sure you aren’t blinding other drivers, because they are BRIGHT. Like DAYLIGHT.

It's sad that not enough people know this. I complain every single day about being blinded by drivers in Orlando. They don't give a rat's behind about anyone else, as long as they can illuminate the road as brightly as they want. Totally unnecessary in most areas because there are adequate streetlights on the majority of the roadways.

It's not that easy to install LED or HID bulbs. It's not just a swap. In majority of vehicles, you need to mod the weather seal cap so that LED housing can fit as no LED will work great unless it has a housing containing driver and cooling fan. HID on the other hand have a ballast, and that ballast needs to go through the cap. With this, you need to drill a hole through the cap in order to fit either of these light bulb types. Furthermore proper adjustment of the headlight pattern and you're good to go. If you have projector headlights, don't bother using LED bulbs for that as those suck in terms of brightness while inside projectors, use HID instead.
I hope this bit of information helps. I drive a Golf Mk2, so I don't need to worry about all that crap with the weather sealing cap, but you may have to. Note: some headlights can only support halogen bulbs due to their design. Test before replacing.

I liked all the mods. The only one I like/don't like is the led head lights. I love led lights. Really bright I can see everything much better. But it seems like everyone goes as bright as they can. Witch is great for the driver. But every one else. Totally blinds them. To me on coming traffic blind by my lights is a very scary thought. Of course can't stand being the driver in the other end of led lights.

  • @MrChaddylac

Good luck performing faster gear shifts in a manual than in my automatic. xD It changes gears in 0.2 seconds.
Also, don't underestimate the power of good quality halogen light bulbs.
LED's give out 100% light right away, but as they get "warmer", their output lights can be redused down to somewhere between 70-90% depending on the production quality of said LEDs.
LED's are not designed to be fitted inside halogen lamps. Not only will you get the wrong light destribution, you'll also blind the oncoming traffic. There's a reason why OEM LED headlights are not a single "bulb", but they are actively controlled by an ECM and a camera to detect the surroundings. One of the reasons is to cut the light, so you're shielding the oncoming traffic from being blinded.
And to adjust the lights down won't help much either, because the light will bounce off the asphalt. Regular cars won't be as much affected as that oncoming 18-wheeler will, because of the height of the driver.
Installing aftermarket LED bulbs in a non-compatible headlamp is a douce move against the other drivers on the road and can cause the oncoming driver to be blinded for extended time after the passing. That can be fatal at night, if there's people walking on the road side with no reflective equipment of some sort.
It will be the same as you would be driving with your full-beams on all the time.

Cheap "mod" 1: apply rain repellant on your windscreen, help you see clear during deluge. also easier to get dead bugs off.
Cheap "mod" 2: add wiper fluid additives to keep the windscreen clean when you use the windscreen flush.
"Cheap" mod 3: get a headlamp polish pack to clear up the 'haze' on old headlamps. Car looks like new again.

Just to let people know, not that yall will see this anyway, you should not rest your hand on your shifter in a manual car. On newer cars it might be better, not sure, why take the chance? Reasoning is you are moving the shifter around slightly even if you dont realize it which can cause a few issues down the line. Thats also why you shouldnt rest your foot on the clutch. Although that doesnt take away from the fact that a custom shift knob can be cool

I would drive a manual but 1. I can’t afford to buy my own car, I’m stuck with what I get, and 2. The terrain where I live makes it so an auto is safer, the ice is no joke and it’s there 7 months of the year. A manual can lose control easier due to you not being able to keep two hands on the wheel at all times.
