  • Barre Class Workout - FAST RESULTS - 18 Minutes - FULL BODY WORKOUT
    This Barre Ballet Workout is designed to sculpt your ballerina body. It is a low impact 18 minute workout that you can do at home. The only equipment you will need is a barre or chair to act as a barre, set of light weights (1.5-2kg) and a yoga mat or carpeted area to lay on the floor.
    In this class, we do a great set at the barre, then we hit the floor for upper body and core exercises.

    Probably I already said this but I will say it again, this is the best workout of all time. Kills me every time I do it. Btw, I like the music, is not crazy and is energetic. For some people might don’t work but for some people do. You can’t please everybody. ❤️

    I took a bit of ballet as a child and this workout was challenging, fun, and nostalgic. I could hear my old instructor telling giving me instructions on my form.

      Hi Nora, thank you. No, there is no way to shut off the music. I appreciate that it is not that enjoyable. This was one of my first barre classes online, and I wasn't very good at that stage with audio editing, and since then I've also found more suitable royalty free music that I can use on RUclips.     I love it but my knees hurt during the workout. Did I do it wrong。😭😭

      It sounds like you may have some underlying knee issues at the moment. Have you seen a manual therapist for an assessment? You may like to try my foam rolling class as that can help if the knee pain is caused by tight quadriceps (thigh muscles).     I appreciate the sound in this video, loud and clear, perfect to workout. There's a point were you are breathing heavily, the music, sounds and then the instructor is speaking softly!????

    Thank you for this barre class. I needed to add to my running routine and I have BPPV(vertigo). All of the other classes I have seen use too much downward head movements. I cannot do yoga or pilates without setting off a vertigo attack. Your class is perfect as long as I skip the mat portion.

      Hi Brenda, I'm so glad that my workout was helpful and that it doesn't flare up your BPPV. The centre and barre work should mostly be safe for you in my workouts, however, yes, I agree, skip the mat section. I hope the BPPV settles for you soon, Andrea x

      Hi karen, I hear you, but unfortunately we have to use Royalty Free music on RUclips. It's not ideal, and there's not much choice out there for royalty free music that is suitable for barre classes in the way that it has a beat that is the right speed for barre exercises (as it's important to me as an ex-dancer that we move in time to the beat of the music). I keep searching for more options online, so if you know of any other options, I'd love to know, Andrea x.

    I love this barre class ♥ are the first moves in the video considered as a warm up or other exercises have to be done for the warm up? :)

      Hi Nes...the first moves are considered a warm up, so this is a fully workout from start to finish. If you feel your body needs more of a warm up though, you are most welcome to do additional warming up before you start, Andrea x

    When she said “ if you have time rewind the video a little bit and redo the ab section” I didn’t hear the ad part and thought I have time and did the entire video again! I didn’t realize until the end of my second round through that she said redo the ab section! Welp, got double the barre workout today!

      Hi Daniela, I agree, I don’t love the music either...however there is very limited choice out there in the way of royalty free music that is suitable for barre classes and suitable for use on RUclips. This is the best of what I’ve found available. If you know of any other options, I’d love to know. You may have noticed that my classes move in time to the beat of the music. Many online barre classes don’t do this, and this is purely because it’s so tricky to manage this with filmed classes AND royalty free music. As an ex-professional dancer I HAVE to move to the beat of the music...and I would be doing myself a disservice if I didn’t! :) Andrea x

      @Barre with Andrea how about skipping the music altogether and let people chose their own music. Secondly, you could have have it on low volume. It is too loud and extremely annoying.

    I’m a former ballet dancer, and Pudendal nerve damage has made me stop. Do you have an alternative workout for people who can not do any form of deep knee bends? Thank you 👍🏻

      Hi Ophelie, perhaps try some of my yoga videos, or keep the knee bends and plies much smaller in my barre class videos. You don't have to bend really deep in these movements if you are unable to, Andrea x

    I wish there is no music or at least set to low. Hard hearing the voice over it. I just read all her responses about music. She does not know that this whole video can be made without any music. She kept saying that she cannot find royalty free music🤯😭. How about no music

      Hi Dhyana, I appreciate your comments, thank you. This was one of my earliest videos, and so my editing skills have improved lots since I started my channel 18 months ago. I agree the music is a little loud, but you'll hear that my voice is easier to hear in my latest videos as my technical editing skills have improved. I do know that I can make the video without music, but I always teach my in-studio classes to music so I aim to replicate this in my online classes also. As an ex-professional dancer, I love moving to the beat of the music, so I'd rather this than no music at all. I can find royalty free music, however music for dancers and fitness is squared off, and broken into 8 counts in 8x4 phrases, so this is where it gets tricky. There is lots of royalty free music out there, but not lots that is suitable for dance/barre workouts, like mine, where I move in time to the music. You'll see I have found some new music for my latest videos which is not quite as techno based, and much more enjoyable to listen to. Give one of those a try, and let me know what you think, Andrea x

    I like the idea of these classes. However, I have a problem keeping my feet in 1st position or with toes facing to the sides. I tried it a while ago & it caused pain. I have weak hips. Is it possible to do this with toes facing forward & still get the benefit?

      Hi Tina, Absolutely, you can definitely stay in parallel, or just a very tiny amount of turnout. We all have different levels and abilities of turnout, so definitely work within your own range of motion, where you don't have any pain. I have very open natural turnout, though it's getting a little more restrictive as I get older...so you definitely don't need to copy the same range of motion as me! Andrea x

You may notice that this was one of my first class filming attempts and RUclips uploads, so I was still definitely learning the tech side of putting up a barre video!       Hi ILoveMyLife (great profile name btw)...I am wearing grip socks, so they are socks with little rubber sticky bits on the bottom. You can buy them from my website at www.thebarreclinic.com.au, or from most pilates studios. You can also wear ballet slippers, they would be fine too. Andrea x

    You are an amazing instructor in a studio but the quality of the recording is low. There is an echo and overpowering music. At the beginning of a sequence it would be helpful to show a slower flow. Could not even finish, disappointed

      Hi Athanasia, Barre classes tend to burn between 300-500 calories per hour, so in this 18 minute class, you could expect to burn between 100 and 170 calories, Andrea x

I agree the music is a little loud, but you'll hear that my voice is easier to hear in my latest videos as my technical editing skills have improved.     I’ve been doing barre for 2 weeks at home, thanks for the video but for a novice like me it was difficult. I can’t catch your rhythm, I didn’t get the first exercises and your black clothes make it ever harder to follow. Thanks again, I don’t mean to hurt / insult /etc... I’m just giving my feedback.       Hi Yeri, this class is a more advanced level of barre, so I'd love to suggest you try one of my classes more suitable for beginners. Perhaps try one of these: ruclips.net/video/SOPZwHaCJgE/видео.html OR ruclips.net/video/KG0I79SsVV4/видео.html - the second one is not a beginners class, but it is a Barre FIT class, so the exercises are more repetitive as they are on a circuit.     do you have the workout where you use the chair you actually use the chair so we can see how to go about it

      Hi Betty. I don't actually, as I film most of my classes in my studio. A chair would work exactly the same as I'm using the barre though, just resting your hands gently on the top. I'll definitely take that feedback on board though and film some classes using a chair! Andrea x

    wow this was a lot more intense than expected! I should have known but its been a long time since I took ballet or barre! A couple of the on barre stretches are definitely not possible if you just have a chair but otherwise love that you only need a chair to do this
