@@machmodels you were right - however I don’t think the bottom of the ‘morane’ FuG 16ZY should be pointing forward. The instructions don’t even suggest that so not sure where you got that from? Just as bad as the cookienumpty and his backward facing antenna The only whip antenna to slant back was the one on the port underside at frame 3(?). That was the FuG 16ZY
Awesome paint job. I love those haphazard late war German schemes that use the duck egg green ( I've seen it called RLM76A and RLM84 before also ). I've got a 190D-9 thats a wild mix of camo and bare metal and primer that I'm itching to get to.
... the underside 'Sky' colour was in reality referred as the 'green variation' of RLM 76. Due to late war shortages in EVERYTHING, the color production was'nt able to produce the proper tones. Even the brown-violet colour was originally an olive green, but, due to poor quality colour, faded quickly to a brown-violet.
Here's hoping the next one is one of those Super Hornets you have lying around. The K-4 is such a cool variant of the 109 so I'm glad you've knocked it out of the park making it! Cheers😄
@brianquinlan8891 The nose and intakes are a nightmare! It took me 3 kits to get no seems. I had to scrape down plastic for the nose. I lost some seem lines but it worked out.
The unusual green fuselage colour was the primer. Normally the whole plane was then painted RLM 76 over the priner and then the top camo but 76 was expensive to produce so often they didnt have enough of it and so left it primer with the too camo over the top. The wings were sub assemblies produced elsewhere so came with their own variations!
Beautiful build, love all the contrast you've managed to get into that paint scheme. If you are going to offset the tailwheel make sure to offset the rudder too - in almost all aircraft those controls are interlinked, so that the rudder pedals can be used to steer on the deck too. Not a criticism though, I love this model, and I think you nailed the weathering level for a 109K!
Wow,you’ve absolutely smashed it out,and being able to see you making it at Hannants was also a little bonus. Thanks for the A-10 and Bf-109 also, and this video will for sure be great inspiration for the 109.I also have one question, How can I make a boring Raf grey and green scheme interesting?
Thank you very much! Looking forward to hearing about how you get on with the builds. I would do exactly what I did in this build, specifically on the wing👌🏻

The slats on Bf109s are NOT spring loaded, they slide in and out freely and are operated by air pressure changes due to the angle of attack. On the ground they are in, unless a ground crew pulls them out for some reason. They are Handley Page slats.
Hey luke, ive been really enjoying your videos and have recently decided to get into model making because of you. Do you have an instagram account where you display these?
Just a information for future builders of K-4 variant. Eduard has wrong cockpit backplate, the door has bad shape and also is flat, no "risings" upper left and right.
When I was stationed in West Germany in the 80s, I bought a 109 kit at a hobby shop downtown Mannheim. I remember the decal sheet having the swastikas cut out. That was a cool shop, too, Inner city shops have a common look to them. They certainly handled reconstruction better than we did here in America. Here we named bases after the traitor generals. Can you imagine in Germany had named their military bases after their generals? They threw off their Hitler problems. We still deal with ours.
I can't imagine no freedom of speech or expression even if it's something you disagree with, which is only unique to America, atleast real America. So yeah we get models with swastikas becuase you can't erase the past you need to learn from it.
