The way I understand it from the manufacturer is the different Gear Ratio settings is when you physically change a sprocket or tire size you can select what you have setup on your bike and the speedometer will adjust the correct speed depending on your setup. Cheers!
Oregon Motorcycle, in case you're not aware, the GoPro Hero 5 and newer models have GPS snd speedometer overlay functions for video. How about you make another video with speedometer overlay? Thank you.
Hiya, nice informative test. I did see a couple of guys building one on a video and they mentioned the gear ratio was an option and you have to select the option you have fitted. I guess you can fit any you ratio you choose as long as you stay within the limits of the bike 😀
And remember to reconnect your brake sensors before you unlock it or it won't unlock the governor, I've met a couple people who told me their bikes were unlocked but they weren't, 5 minutes with the bik, gave it back and he looped it on eco mode🤣🤣🤣 now he's happy as larry🤣🤣🤣
You misunderstand the GR settings. This is to correct your speedometer to whichever size tooth rear sprocket you are using. Theres no way to change a gear ratio, without first changing a gear. Nothing is happening to the bike by just changing settings. The ratio 1:8.4 is the ratio for the stock 44 tooth sprocket. The ratio 1:9.1 would be a 48 tooth, 1:9.5 is 50 tooth, 1:11.0 is a 58 tooth ect...
Yo what go pro is that lol I legit just had that issue making my video yesterday of my Talaria and its a gopro 7 and kept cutting out while riding some reason, works fine on my drone tho lol
@@OregonMotorcycle oh ture no way, I have a hero 5 session and its fine but the 7 hero does the same thing as yours. Painful, but eh keep up the awesome videos found you when I was looking into a talaria! SUBBED!
If you ask me, the gear ratio is only needed to be altered on the display if you have changed sprockets, I may be wrong but I am sure it’s to let the display know your correct speed, especially if the speed reading is within the motor, the inner motor can be spinning at a certain speed but different sprockets would give a different actual bike speed if that makes sense
You can't really change the gear ratio electronically.... The whole point is that you only use it if you have changed the sprocket to match the new ratio...
I use my sting for track riding if I know there's big jumps I put mine in 1.9.1, which is all torque low down with a top speed of 35(ish), if I'm on a flat track I'll put it in 1.4.8 which is less torque more top speed, put the original sprocket back on and try again, as you're results are way slower than mine I'm 6'2 200lbs and stock I could get a gee hair from 60 mph using GPS .Are you sure you disabled the governor as I suspect you haven't as unlocked these bike are feckin scary tryin to keep that front wheel on the floor lol.
@@OregonMotorcycle Well yeah kinda as the bikes limited by the governor on the controller, as for the G.R setting, the way it was demonstrated for me is exactly how I said it was, you have 3 gears/cogs incased in that "gearbox" and the G.R setting in the menu adjusts 2 of them on the fly, and for me they definitely make or break your top speed runs if that's your thing
I had an email from talaria themselves explaining the difference between the gear ratio settings it so you can change the gear ratio Within the gearbox itself and then you set the gear ratio to what you have done in the gearbox

I have a feeling you may have flipped your bike to Kilometers per hour, that would explain the readings you were getting on the speedometer
never mind, I should not have commented before the end of the video haha
Very helpful, thanks a lot for doing this for us!
ive been coming back to this to set my GR. thanks dude.

talaria comes with 44T sprocket stock not 48 like the sur ron BTW

there should be a speed limiter on the Talaria sting that you could try to turn off if you haven't done it already
Mine came unlocked.

Only one out here posting consistent Talaria content, thanks 🙏
Your welcome!
Nice meeting you today at FOPO. My Talaria is on track to show up on Tuesday.
Sweet! Nice meeting you too!
lol you gotta actually change the gear ratio by changing the sprocket

Have you got a 72v battery and a upgraded controller in this mate?
No

Hero 5. Its done it ever since I bought it. Does it more when its cold.

Yep. If you watch the whole vid and listen to what I say, you will here me explain what’s going on and why I did this experiment.
Henderson Flats is the name of the one by Madres. Here's the vid. ruclips.net/video/uOA-tc66jxI/видео.html
What would mine be I changed it to a 42t sprocket

The gear ratio adjustment has nothing to do with power output. That was the point of the video.

Down the hill I can do 100mph with my bicycle haha.
Talaria with governor re connrcted, 30+ range? Im 270 n make 20+ mile range driving like an asshole
Waste of time...
