You guys channel will grow because of sharing knowledge and transparency. Lets go CHAMP!!.
Great video! Everyone please do research before jumping out here! Carriers have to come together and stay united!
Great video bro and the wifey giving opinions and questions about hotshot to others about how to run the highway 👍🛣️
💯 thanx guys

@maccmedia thanks a lot for answering my question it really means a lot many blessing to u& ur wife 👍
Most definitely fam!
Like your content keep it up
Was watching one of your older videos you were wearing a Camo jacket with the orange reflective would mind telling me where you bought it from
Thanks brother! Man I think I bought that Guess jacket from either Ross or Marshalls. Love it!
You guys give really good info. I'm seriously wanting to get into this industry. And you guys are officially my operations manual. Thanks a lot.
Hey bro! Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback! Glad the content helps!
I own a 2007 Ford E-450 cab and chassis...
I'm a retired A.S.E mechanic so i work on my own truck... the only thing I can't do is welding...
My truck is nothing fancy but a work truck...
Ice cold a/c and scorching heat...!!°
It can be done if you are mechanically inclined and on top of regular maintenance...!!!!
By the way I'm non-cdl and loving it because i have a low goal to meet every week and anything above that goal is a bonus...
My dad was class A - owner operator for 40 years. Class B with P endorsement for myself, and my son has Class A - company driver. When I asked him about running his own authority he was like no way in hell. This video explained a lot about the industry, and how each driver (or anyone for that matter) has to be self-aware to survive in their industry. Thanks for the great content!
Hey fam! I can definitely see why your dad said hell no lol it takes a lot to run the operations of a trucking company so it definitely depends on what ones goals are. Everyone doesn’t need to have an authority to do well in this industry. Appreciate the insight and support 🙏🏽🫡💯
@@HotshotMacc Sorry, I worded that wrong. My dad did 40 years as an owner operator, my son said Hell no. However, thanks for the reply, and I enjoy the videos. Keep the videos coming and the freight moving! 🙏🏽
Man Tow Piglet really blew up non CDL, Ford Chevy Ram and big Tex owe him money for how many people bought this equipment to start out and not make it Trucking is the biggest Roller Coaster ride and most people don’t have the discipline to survive on the down times you have to save money for the storms cause its coming.
It’s hard to blame someone for show another whats changed their lives. It’s contagious. Unfortunately a lot just failed to do their research and just bases decisions on videos they see on RUclips. But we don’t know what we don’t know. But yeah RUclipsrs, social media period has definitely played it’s part. It’s in every industry.
Save for the storm because it's coming? Average rate per mile is 1.65$, it's already here...
I came to the realization that unless I was bringing in a minimum of 12k-13k a month, the gross minimum, it wasn't worth it. However, to do that, I had to be gone all the time.
The market was so pathetic it wasn't even worth it to leave the house.
I went back to being a diesel mechanic.
I may be back since moving across the US, the freight is very different on the East Coast vs. the western plains. I will need to change the business model to be home nightly or almost every night. However, I'm also a realist and don't think that it possible. Maybe one day ill try it but family is more important.
Whats goin on macc, I been part of the channel for a while, Love the content 💪🏽 I have a question, I am on my way to start hotshot. One question I cant get a straight answer is the 10lb Trailer law. I hear from some people its only for california, I hear its for every state... Can you help a brother out !! I want to make sure I get in the right way with a CDL if needed !! I want to start non CDL and run CDL later on, Thank you !!
What’s going on brother. Appreciate the support! I wouldn’t listen to anyone but what your state regulations are. What state are you in. I’m aware of that being true in Cali but haven’t heard of anywhere else. I never had an issue when I was non cdl and out of Texas. I just never went to Cali. But it’s a hit or miss. I would just get that CDL if your able to.
H-town from the Southside checking in with you Bro it's been a while since I been on RUclips been out here trying to get this money and do these loads,
Much love bro! Gotta get a meet up out here in H-Town soon fr! But I feel you on that bro, gotta eliminate distractions some times and remain focused out here! Keep grinding!
@@HotshotMacc Yes Sir I agree 💯
Deleted trucks are the best after warranty period is up
I have been looking at hauling small time stuff just to get a little money for a truck I have to haul a travel trailer (F350).
I’m looking at getting into hotshoting right now and I’m trying to keep my over head at a minimum but I’m excited to get into it
Awesome bro but definitely keep that overhead down as much as possible 🫡💯
Like ya clips Bro big up Jamaican...
Big up! Much appreciated 🤜🏽🤛🏽
Id like to start of as non cdl then with a cargo Van then move my way up...
As far as being 18 and able to do hotshot or not as far as fmcsa amd dot yes you can but insurances will probably not want to cover the 18 year old and if so will be very expensive
Great video! Good information here! If y’all go non cdl go with a 40ft anything less your gonna fail in todays market. This is a 40ft or bigger market not anything less. This is coming from a guy who has 3 40ft non cdl set ups. And almost 5 years in. It works for me but not saying it will for anyone else who is just starting up I have very little overhead and overhead is key to much will result in failure.
My brotha! How you been bro, hope all is well with the fam! But you hit it on the nail with this one. All facts bro and you are living proof 💪🏽🫡💯
Not necessarily true. I run a 35ft and have been doing non CDL for a few months. I built relationships with customers and a few brokers and I make sure if I have to be on the load board that I don’t let anyone beat me to the load I want. I understand what you’re saying, and yes there are some full truckloads that require 40ft, but there’s plenty of loads that don’t and plenty of partials to stack together that pay really well if you hustle.
Our trailer believe it or not is only 36 feet. We are doing just fine with it.. of course the longer the better but no you are not guaranteed to fail if you have less than 40.
Maybe for you. Depends on the market you are in and who you are leased to. I’m doing great.
@@adventuresintrucking1995 definitely not guaranteed to fail!
I got my Class A yesterday, been getting mixed tips, some saying get a dually, some saying get a semi
It just depends on what’s more important to you. There are pros and cons to both. Right now it may be easier and more efficient to load a semi combined with a step deck than it is a hotshot. Just gotta decide on the shit you wanna put up with but both comes with its own shit.
get ur cdl , work for a big comp for a year or 2 then buy your own truck ( semi) save the hassle and money loss
Howdy I’m 19 and I stated doin go hotshots non cdl already had the truck. Had commercial insurance and everything made decent money and kept overhead very very low. But one thing that killed me is insurance because I’m under 21. Taking time off and getting my cdl then going to a mega carrier.
Appreciate you sharing that bro! Thats been a killer for many when it comes to insurance. You are doing the smart thing by getting your CDL. And going with a mega carrier may be the best thing to do right now. Respect bro 🫡
@@HotshotMacc I appreciate you greatly and I have leaned plenty of things from your channel along with having a few family members being o/o
Im gonna say this again, you guys (hotshot macc and hotshot milla) are THE MOST RESPONSIBLE hotshot team in this industry period. Extreme class in not talking numbers because you know how misleading it has been in this industry. I admire you guys business savvy and as always wishing you the very best of luck and safety on the road! Tim, if ur ever in Va get with me bro!!!
That’s love brother and we appreciate you feedback. We definitely try to be responsible with everything we do. We are humans and still mess up sometimes and we’re always leaning but we still strive for the best. Ill have to remember to hit you up when I’m passing through 🙏🏽💪🏽🫡💯
@@HotshotMacc im the same one that told u i wouldve given u a hand wit being overweight when u dropped ur spare tire and it was like 1 other thing also when u made that trip to Norfolk on the base, just switched up my @.
9:25 it’s probably 21 to get approved for the insurance
I researched Hot shot trucking 3 years before I start I have been doing it 4 years now it is definitely worth it but you do have to do a lot of research before just jumping in
Thats a fact! Experience will definitely make a difference 💯🫡
it's 18 to get a cdl and stay in your state or 21 to do interstate. I got mine right at 21 and the law hasn't changed since then on that part.
Appreciate that knowledge bro!!
Do you know how bad Louisiana is for freight coming out?
Not too bad but mostly short hauls from what we usually see on the boards. Just depends on what part.
how much you make from you tube
How can we book a consultation with you? I am getting ready to get started and would love to be able to get some information from you.
You can website and book a free discovery call or a consultation. Links are in the description
Get your cdl and then you can do non cdl or cdl which ever paying the most
Always keep your options open! I can agree with that 🫡💯
@@HotshotMacc Thats A1 Macc
It’s really simple I’m heavy haul. hot shot got over saturated. That simple. If you was hot shot you should have scaled up to semi truck rgn/lowboy. I’m still getting good money
So if this was the move for everyone, then all the hotshots that move to heavy haul would just saturate that market as well. Thats coming too btw.
Cdl interstate commerce requires you to be 21 yrs of age. Non cdl I am not sure on the age. But safe side it would still be interstate commerce so I would say 21 yes of age is the safe bet. Typically intrastate you can run cdl at 18 yrs of age.
Appreciate the input and I’m sure other will too! 🫡💯
Do you prefer a trailer with Air brakes or a trailer with eletric brakes?
I haven’t ran with air brakes so I’m not sure
35+5 or get a st8 40ft i have a dually but saving for a trailer. HTOWN
Get that 35+5 so your not missing out on certain types of equipment that can’t be loaded with pull out ramps. But you are going to want the lightest trailer so you can keep your freight up bc the dually is heavy. H-Town in the building 🫡💯
if you had your cdls in the beginning with your 2500 would you still went with non cdl setup
It depends bro, If I was in a position to get a bigger truck more than likely. Or I would have ran non cdl then work towards upgrading. Just depends on that capital, credit etc in the beginning fr
@HotshotMacc that's where I'm torn at had cdls for 18 years but already own a 2500 with low payments thinking about just doing non cdl to let authority age before up grade to cdl setup
@@mottbrothers3506do u still need commercial insurance???
Hey My brother it's not a hot shot question we have a power washing business in Houston trying to get nice people so we can grow the business if you need the service I will inbox you be careful out there my brother
How do I get a consultation with you
You can go to our website www.macctransportandlogistics.com and book it under consulting. 🫡
Non cdl is were im headed. So I wanna know if its worth it.
It can be worth it, just depends on many factors. Continue doing research and maybe get with an established company in the beginning. New authority working with brokers with bad rates is hard right now.
@@HotshotMaccthanks. Imma definitely do my research..I just wanna put my family in a position to when
Of course it's where you're headed... Quit being lazy and get your CDL.
@@David-td5po don't want it.
Mamnnnn it's tough out here
💯
What’s the average per mile non cdl or cdl I know it varies just wanting a average if possible?
Depends on region, non CDL rate per mile will be lower than CDL.
It depends on setup and contacts, but if you ur on the boards alone I would say 1.75 right now for a full truck
Gotcha and 1 more question if you already have a class b are you allowed to go up on weight over the 26,000 pounds?
@@dariuswright6027 Class B is straight truck / bus only. (School bus, box truck, cement truck) You will have to upgrade your CDL, which means you will have to go to school all over again.
@@David-td5po ok gotcha definitely appreciate it
Love your videos bro stay safe out there 👍🏾
Appreciate you bro! Likewise, stay safe 🫡
I have my cdl, have a truck (1500 Ram). Could I start up with my current truck? Or do I need something bigger?
You would definitely need a bigger truck. Depending on how you are looking to start, cdl or non cdl, your equipment will have to fit either operation.
Hey guys, I'm already retired from the military can i make at least 2k a week with a lease on. My kids are grown . My wife is a nurse.
Hey fam, you can definitely do that if you’re OTR. Are you CDL or Non CDL?
Are there any factoring services that allow a driver to receive direct payment from a shipper/receiver ?
The factoring company we are with does not restrict us from getting payment on direct contacts. If someone decides to give us a check/ACH etc, we take it and save on the fee.
@@HotshotMacc awesome, thank you ! Best of luck and God speed !
100
💯💯🫡🫡
Buy a dump truck
How much can you make a week ? Local ? And OTR?
Might just look into it
All these videos have killed the market. 2 dollars a mile maybe a little more is all you can expect right now. Not to mention the load boards are a joke. The whole industrie is in the shitter right now you would be stupid to get into this.
Are you Class B or A?
Class A
@@HotshotMacc for the big rig you would obviously need that A (future) but for Hot Shotting the class B would allow for whatever size and weight truck but still restrict you to 10k on the trailer. Is that any advantage over non CDL in your opinion? Thanks
so in other words me being in ohio screws me over sorta and with everything else going on at tbe moment it would be stupid for me to do this because all i have for an option is hoping i can get a business loan big enough for a trucj trailer and other expenses. this is honestly seeming to be pointless ill just dig ny business into a massive hole and take years and constant being on the road to barely stay a float.
Honestly, unfortunately with the way everything is right now you are right. You would definitely need some capital to sit on and some relationships for it to make sense starting now.
Bruh sell your equipment get a Peterbilt get a RGN catapiller CAT just move there factory to north east Texas come heavy haul brother stop playing around you in this to make money there is no shortage in flat bed step deck heavy haul in Texas plus income tax bruh non of that Florida going to shit if that were you live I live in cali and a property in Texas. cali market is great going out of cali
Que pasa migo always dope content and keep us the public/fans on game, run it!!!✌🏽🫡
