Love this project and the back of the red fish, it would make a very cool suncatcher or ornament.
This is a great idea that I'm going to have to try! I've always loved sun catchers, and I think this would be a great technique for them!
Those are really cool and look pretty easy to do. My favorite is the front of the clown fish. It's one of my favorite fish and I love the colors you used.
I like them both, but if I have to pick, I'll pick the Angel fish. Nice job, Steve!
I think I like the embossed version, but only because I like the gold lines better. I tried this with PVA glue and it stuck much better than using UV resin. I've also now done this with the flat wire for my sun catchers. Much better result, I had to go round twice to make sure the seal was there, but it works better than UV and is easier to do as you can just paint the glue on.
What is PVA glue?

How do you do it with PVA glue and what is the item it’s done on? Can I use something else instead
Steve has used string on acetate in the video. I do the same kind of technique using 3mm flat wire (end on) for the outlines and dividers. Paint around the edge with PVA glue to form a seal. Effectively making a custom shape bezel. Then filling with resin. Works very well. The other option I’ve tried is Clear silicone. Also seals well. Hope that helps.

Hi, I loved both, they are amazing as all your art, love both channels. I would probably have dipped the string in black uv resin.
I liked the Nemo fish best. You could try using double sided adhesive tape applied to the transparency in order to adhere the string.
Side note, is there an update on your roof Steve? I remember you mentioned it in the past you were saving up for the repairs, but didn't recall hearing any updates since then.

Definitely the backs are better my favorite was the fish until you turn the yellow and black one around but I enjoy them both thanks Steve

Hey Steve, I think this string technic is very creative. The string can be manipulated and positioned in just about any shape. If the string on the angelfish was black, I would say to leave it. I'm sure it would look great. But I do like the embossed look on the clown fish. That would look good with black string too....but as you said, you make do with what you have on hand. Creativity just doesn't like to be kept waiting for you to run to the store! 😁🌺
I like the angelfish, and I think if the string was black then it would be that much better. But I like the embossing on the clownfish
Colour you try the Talc with Black Paint and Glue to make a black edge, they rolled up plastic to make a pen type icing bag, to draw the lines, then filled each space with resin.
I like them both but if was forced to pick one then it would be the red fish. Great idea. X

I like the clown fish the most. Oh and if you love clown fish you should look up images of Mandarin Fish, they're so gorgeous and come in a variety of exquisite colours!

I've never seen this done before. They came out really nicely. What do you do with all the things you make on the channel Steve? I never know what to do with the stuff I make. Family and friends are all 'home made gifted' out if you know what I mean! But I couldn't sell the things I make because they aren't that good. I think the clown fish was my favourite out of your two fish.

Wow 😳😳 love the clown fish 🐠🐠🐠🐟🐟🐟!! The gold really sets it off for me. Don't see me doing this for a while, because I have orders all the way to the middle of May!!! Then I think 🤔🤔 I may take about a 2 week break to regroup and replace all the supplies.... MAYBE!!!!

@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts thank you 💕💕 . I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not.... Having to get in 2 pours a day just to try to keep up. Starting at 6a.m. and doing a full pour of trays and additions... Then, another one starting at about 4:30p.m. Then do it all over again the next day!!!

You can always dye the twine lol. I also tried this with rubber bands, wire, dental floss and bracelet string (kind that stretches). I made some awesome suncatchers. I also found a UV retarder to add to resin to slow the fading in the sun but haven't had them long enough to know if it's working yet. It didn't affect cure time on the uv resin either btw.
I luv them both! I would totally mess this up if I tried it. I've got my quilling paper ready to do some fun pictures in frames but haven't found anything simple that I want to try yet. I may try drawing something on the acetate n using the uv then transfer to a picture frame to finish 🤔

The other fish is a butterfly fish, not an Angelfish. Heniochus butterfly fish to be exact. Being one who keeps saltwater fish I think these are absolutely beautiful!
