How to prepare a file for White Toner printing with Ghost in Photoshop

- As many of you requested we finally filmed a screencast tutorial on how to use Photoshop to create a white underlayer or baselayer in Photoshop.
In this tutorial we will show you how you create a black mask of your desgin and shrink it appropriately so that you can use it as underprint for your T-Shirt Transfers.
Follow along the steps and bring your CMYK + White designs onto T-Shirts. In a following video we will show you how the design is transferred to a dark T-Shirt.
With Ghost White Toner in your HP Laserjet printer you can easily create T-Shirts, Textiles, Mugs and more with great CMYK + White designs. You need no special software. Just print your CMYK design on the Laser-Dark (no-cut) A-Foil Transfer Media. After this you can reinsert the paper and print a White background on the image. This way you can transfer even to dark substrates.

It was very helpful. Thank you! If you would have said at the end, that the white mask should be printed by grey scale instead of color, the black mask will be perfectly black instead of grey or so.

could you explain the same to use on corel draw?
Hi, we do not work with Corel draw and accordingly have no experience with the software.
i am having trouble with registration of white when doing the second print. if i do a sample print using cmy first then go back and do a second pass print using black it will line up if i use the white it will not line up i have tried different methods and the white prints over to the left of the image a bit . I have tried doing your method but white toner always prints to the left .

how about rasterized image? do i have to shrink the white toner border as well? since the dots will be so small
You have to test this for the respective image. We have customers who are quite successful with rasterized images. Some images can't work with the offset.
My white is always off by a couple millimeters. It’s never aligned. Any suggestions? I followed the same process.

Hello, I’m having trouble with printing using grayscale on my CP5225dn printer. When it comes to printing in white toner it comes out grey not white. If you have any videos where you show us how to use the CP5225dn or the big ghost to print out white toner designs with color. This is very frustrating I can’t seem to find the proper settings on my printer that allows me to set it to grayscale. Can you please send me some help urgently..thanks!

We have found that there seems to be a glitch with the standard install of this printer driver. If you download the HP Universal printer driver for this printer you will have access to more settings where you have to set to greyscale in the printer driver (under Color) AND in the PDF viewer when you print it. support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/upd/4157320/model/4157320

The second output does not have a fine fit.

I bought this toner last week, but when I print only for the black color with the white cartridge, a kind of gray or green comes out ... it doesn't come out white. I use the HP LaserJet Pro 200 m276n. print from Photoshop. What settings need to be made? can you tell me the settings?

Is there a way to half tone it as well in photoshop?
If you are an experienced user there are ways but the prints will not ligne up
Is it too hard to rasterize or half tone on a desktop printer? To actually make the white tony and black tony line up lol.
You cannot rasterize beacause of the double pass.
when using photoshop with my ghost white printer my white underprint keeps coming out grey?? i have no clue how to fix this at this point im wasting toner and a paper

Please convert your design to PDF and print again. Then it will work!
I finally can get the image size correct, however my ghostwhite 2nd copy is coming out grey???? Please help?

You will need any graphic program of course to change images
None of this works at all unless to RASTERIZE your image first and then you need to copy it turn it black and then RASTERIZE that copy for the white layer. If not, 100% of your shirts will feel plastic!!!!
It depends on the design. The more solid a design is the heavier it feels on the garment. This is true for all printing except DTG.
