The white underprint is on the whole motif not only in the places where the "gaps" are. The only thing to note is that the white underprint is 2-3mm smaller than the actual design. :)

Hi, you first print all colors with CMYK then print the white layer behind it. You have to make 2 print passes and change the toner. When you are at the 2 pass for the white layer you print in grayscale mode so that only the white toner is used.
Everything must be printed mirrored. Since you have the Mini Ghost you have to set this up in the design software.

Can I use the CMY HP toners and add the Ghost White toner for heat transfers? Or do I need to use all Ghost Toners?
You can use the standart toners. If you buy ours you will have a more smooth transfer process!
I cannot get the registration to work when adding the white underbase... even with adding a 1mm choke. Is there a way to make the registration work consistently? Thanks.
This is usually no problem when you make your White Layer smaller. We have a special tutorial showing exactly this!

Every print we have to switch the white cartridge ? ( It's very lengthy process)
Is there any other options? Where we do not need to switch cartridge everytime.
You can of course print batches of color and then the white all in one other batch. This makes you swap the cartridge only once per batch.

I go online and look for laser printers which have ghost toners available, the problem is they want to sell you a$4k or $6k laser printer. After watching your video I searched your printer and WOW! its like a tenth of the cost. I am looking for a laser printer which can do the 17" print but I don't want to spend thousands of dollars. Can you use the regular CMYK hp cartridges or the does it need to be the ghost CMYK cartridges
You can stat with the HP ones and later switch to Ghost Toners. The Ghost Toners work more consistent in Transfer Paper Peeling.

P.S. For printing black graphics onto white garments, I was looking into using inkjet transfer. Then I won't have to cut out the designs because the white will just show up as transparent, right?
Apprendre l'art That’s easy! Just convert the image to black and white (if not so already) then invert. Everything black on screen will be printing white.

I notice in some videos when selecting the paper setting you select "Opaque Film" and others it's "Color Transparency". Is there reason why that is and also do you recommend leaving "print density" at default setting? I think I may have answered my question re: paper settings...looks like depending on which video the printer is either HP 252 or 452?
You are right! It depends on the printer model ! You can also experiment with the settings and see what works best for you!

That is worng. I do not know where you got this information from but Ghost White Toner is great for all colors!
I was watching another video and they said that clam presses wont work as well and they recommend getting a swing away press. How accurate is that?
It is easy: The better the press - the easier will it be but our products work with most clam presses. This is how we also demonsate it.

Refilling is not a good option. Every Cartridge contains components which need to be replaced to assure good image quality and consitenst print yield.

I would like to know how essential ist the use of the WHITE cartridge.
I read that the powder-like structure of the Ghost White Toner is what makes the image so well adhesive on fabric.
So if I understand correctly - I always have to run a white print as the second layer, even if I do not have a white color in my image ?
Or do the foil & b-paper work also without the ghost white toner with the USUAL laserjet toners ?

You will need to run 2 passes when you need white and color for dark surfaces. You can use the transfer papers with normal toner as well for light surfaces!

The Laser-Dark A & B can be used on light shirts as well! That's what we like about it: One Paper for almost everything!
I have a swing arm hot press that is only hot on the top. Bottom plate does not heat. Will this process still work the same way?

Thank you for this video. I have the ghost white toner. My main problem for bigger graphics is when it comes to washing. I’m putting the design on a 100% cotton t shirt. After 2 to 3 washes maximum the design starts cracking. How can I solve this issue?
Hi, what could help is making interuptions in your motiv (like for example a grid/raster). Or doing a longer repress at the end can help. Sometimes it can depend on the kind of cotton. You can also use OEM HP Toner carts. The Ghost CMYK + White Carts are optimized for Transfer appplications and give a little easier peeling process than other ones but for a start you can use those.

If you are only printing a small area can you cut the a and b paper to that small size so you are not wasting the paper?
indeed this is possible, or you can also print the design on the paper multiple times in order to just do the printing process once (in case you need more "copies" of the design).
What software
We use Adobes CC but you can use any software you like. Printing is recommended from PDF Files.
Quick Question:
I saw there are 2 types of toner on your website, one is Sublime Ghost and then the normal ones, do i need to get Sublime or the normal Color toners can get the Job done?

The problem is my heatpress temperature is not as hot as the display says.
I had to raise my temperature settings up to 385 degrees to get an accurate required temperature to use the paper and the white toner.
I'm getting a very good results now.
From now on I will check the platen temperature with a hand held temperature sensor..

We suggest to use the bottom tray always. We have Toners for 8,5x11 and 11x17 printers

The print is very durable and only cracks if washed to hot or tumble dryed.

can you rasterize the image so it is softer feel. and can you use the black t shirt back ground as part of the black so you lay a thinner layer?
PhotoZen you can rasterize the design in any graphic software like Photoshop or Corel. There you can also take away the blacks as you describe. But the feel is very good even without this

You'll need to marry the sheets directly or shortly after printing. But then you can store sheets for quite some time.

More the 40 times when washed cold and inside out!
How long does it take to calibrate a cartridge from k to w? It's going to take a while, right?
The calibartion takes 60-90 seconds depending on your printer model.
Did i understood right ? i can wash the shirts around 30-40 times ? and than ? its washs off ?
That is what we recommend. Depending on the design the print lasts much longer and will not come of. As with any printed garment after many washes you will maybe see cracking or a little color fade but nothing major!

Try to reduce it around 1.5mm also use the bottom tray of the printer. The manual feed is too inaccurate.

Just sharing what I learned in chemistry to answer the question why white toner prints crack easily. I think the main reason is because toner molecules have low melting point - at 100 degrees celsius. Generally, the higher the melting point, the stronger the bonds between molecules, which means higher resistance to cracking. To illustrate, a candle with very low melting point cracks much much easily than a steel with very high melting point. Since toner printing technology only allows low temp fusing, as it is originally intendd for paper printing (which may burn at high temperature), it follows that the toner materials being used must have low melting points. So, there is no way that toner printing can be improved to avoid cracking on fabric unless the technology is modified to make use of high-melting point toners.

In general, you can use the standard HP toners, but you will get the best results if you use the Ghost toners.
