Basically, I deeply respect your efforts ZiggyD for playing this game even unfinished and bringing us some amazing tips that only the players themselves could appreciate. I really hope the developers listen to you.

Building castles on inaccessible rocks was actually legit strategy throughout the ages and the only way to get in was to starve whoever was inside. Sieges like this could go on and on for years and they often failed because sieging army could be defeated by whoever owned or was alied to besieged castle, or war with someone more important broke out and army was needed elsewhere, or lord/king of besieging army died and his successor couldn't be bothered to continue or they simply gave up and went home.

actually i saw the threw your double wall. when you go up on the roof. it is 1 tile larger than the room below the staircase at the wall actually amplifies that. i would reconsider the positioning on those stairs.

If you can make tier 2 walls, ceilings and doorframe/door you can easily make a 100% raid proof base on a cliff side (Yog is obviously not included).

With the addition of climbing, mesa bases are still viable, however you have to be more careful. Most importantly, your base should overhang the mesa, to prevent people from climbing all the way up, mounting, regaining stamina, and then climbing over your walls. T3 foundations are excellent for this.

I'd take out two or 3 stairs to be sure ZiggyD, hardcore rust kids will get in.

I remember the devs saying something about those terrain ownership. You will be safe if you login daily, but that ownership decays overtime if you don't login, so inactive people don't take space from active users. I don't know how aggressive is that decay tho, i don't play the game, just saw a dev stream.

Dude! Imagine the view if you could find a mesa in the middle of a large oasis! Awesome! :D

If someone climbs, you can place a circular wall of foundations high enough on the hill to be out of reach. Then place T3 fences on them.

How is your base getting destroyed while you are offline even remotely fun? It baffles me how anyone would want to play a game with this mechanic.

I always use the lowest tier ceiling pieces to make the path to my first gatehouse. This is usually over a long fall that way when they try to break through my tier two or higher doors the lower path is destroyed and they can't place anymore explosives
