  • Castor Oil Packs have been around for centuries and continue to be used today by alternative practitioners like myself - a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. I’ve used a Castor Oil Pack on many occasions but most recently to regain my menses after having lost it for 3 months due to an extreme amount of stress. But this isn’t the only reason why you would find benefits in using one. It also detoxifies organs like the liver, reduces inflammation in the digestive tract and can help manage arthritic pain. Note that those who are pregnant, breastfeeding or menstruating SHOULD NOT use a Castor Oil Pack as it could have negative effects on the body. In this video, I demonstrate how easy it is to create a Castor Oil Pack at home. WATCH THIS NEXT: • Heal Hemorrhoids Natur...

I suggest taking the castor oil as a laxative, every two years. Take four table spoons, and make sure you set aside 2 to 3 days at home to go to the loo. It is a very effective detoxifier as it works internally. Plus clears your elementary canal. This is done extensively in India and even parents do it evey three years for their kids. Please only have very light non spicy soup for meals during the three days, and only go out after the laxative effect of the castor oil is over.

Why would detoxifying be a bad thing during menstruation, breastfeeding or pregnancy? Thank you for the instructions.

    • @melcannourish
      @melcannourish  2 месяца назад +2

This is a great question! The process of detoxification pulls toxins from your body. So for menstruation, the castor oil pack has the ability to pull more blood out causing excess bleeding. In pregnancy, it can cause dangerous shifts not advisable for the fetus and in breastfeeding, it can pull toxins into breast milk as it circulates within the body, not ideal for a nursing baby. I hope this clarifies why you shouldn't use castor oil while menstruating, breastfeeding and while pregnant.

It was rough to watch your video with the Buddha in the background. As for me and my house, we will worship the Lord!
I've never seen anybody recommend castor oil in plastic. Plastic is toxic. The Saran Wrap is also toxic.

I understand your concerns, and I appreciate your perspective. I want to clarify that the Buddha statue is primarily for decorative purposes and doesn't diminish my devotion to the Lord. Regarding the plastic wrap, it is used to cover the flannel and is not meant to come into contact with the skin. Thank you for understanding.

How do you make one for thyroid?

    • @melcannourish
      @melcannourish  Месяц назад

@@Zabardageegan Making a castor oil pack for your thyroid is relatively simple. Here's what you'll need:
      1. Castor oil (organic if possible)
      2. Cotton or wool cloth (an old t-shirt or flannel sheet works well)
      3. Plastic wrap
      4. Hot water bottle or heating pad
      5. Towels or a plastic sheet to protect your bedding
      Here's how to do it:
      1. Lie down on your back and place a towel or plastic sheet under your neck.
      2. Pour some castor oil onto the cloth and fold it to distribute the oil evenly.
      3. Place the cloth over your thyroid gland (at the base of your neck) and cover with plastic wrap. Ensure the plastic wrap does not touch your skin and always make note of the side of your cloth the plastic touched as to not have it touch your skin for future applications due to plastic leaching.
      4. Place the hot water bottle or heating pad over the plastic wrap and relax for 30-60 minutes.
      5. After the treatment, gently remove the pack and wipe off any excess oil with a towel.
You can repeat this 2-3 times a week for the best results.
      Best of luck!

    1. Can it be used for ovarian cysts? (if so where should I place it? -directly on the ovaries?)
    2. Can it be used to support liver and gallbladder after gallbladder removal?
    3. Does the heat source have to be electric? Normally I use an old school heating pad with warm water for pains - can I use this?
    4. Does it have any side effects? / do some people get ill from it in some way? (for example I can read in the comments that some people believe that it's not a good idea if you have lots of toxins in your body or your liver does not detox effecticely)

While it's true that toxins may be pulled out onto the flannel cloth during castor oil pack treatments, it's not necessary to change the flannel daily. The toxins absorbed by the cloth are generally small in quantity and won't cause harm if they remain on the cloth. A lot of detoxification is also done internally and excreted by the liver, feces, urine, etc. Of course, if the flannel becomes soiled or develops an unpleasant odor, it's best to replace it sooner. My mom is suffering from edema with tumor spreading
How should I use it to cure her

You can have her use the pack directly on the brain tumour. Have her do this daily for a minimum of 30 minutes. My castor oil videos can help in how to create one. Best of luck to your mom.

You can do this daily. For as long as you can. If you only have 20 minutes, great. If you have 60 minutes, even better.

Please show the science that proves castor oil detoxifies and please explain how that works, if it really does. I am glad your periods came back but geez, after ten weeks, it probably worked itself out without the need for castor oil poultices. I think the oil is great as a moisturizer and I think it helped clear up my fungus toenail because it is antibacterial. I am using a poultice on hurting hip because it is anti-inflammatory. But detoxification? I could find no such study or result. I remember on Little Rascals, from the 1930s, that Alfafa would be given a spoonful of castor oil as a punishment. From the face he made it must taste awful, but that was acting, I guess.

While scientific evidence regarding the benefits of castor oil remains inconclusive, its longstanding historical usage suggests potential advantages. Our bodies naturally detoxify through the skin, primarily via sweat, and incorporating oils and warmth into this process may enhance its effectiveness. As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, I'm inclined to explore various products and approaches, even in the absence of scientific backing. Experience often reveals insights that scientific studies may not yet capture. Yes. Castor Oil doesn't taste yummy but for constipation purposes, it does the job, provided it is taken in a safe and proper dosage. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

It absolutely does detox...I can attest to that with migraines that I had after 3 days of use and feeling great now. Egyptians were using it 6000 years ago.
Scientists generally invest in study and research when there are patents that can be awarded and money to be made!

I've heard castor oil safe to use in your eyes or is safer to use the pack on the eyes...

I've heard the same but don't have experience with it or have yet to meet someone who has. Definitely continue with your research. Good luck!

Do you have to wash the flannel before using it for the first time?

Hello.... Nice video. Thank you.... Question.
If you do this on your feet can you sleep with it. Plus the plastic till the next morning? Or only few hours.

Hi Alida! Thanks for watching. If you are placing castor oil and plastic wrap on your feet for pain relief, you will need to place a heating pad on your feet as well. I would not suggest keeping the heat on overnight. One hour is enough. If you are placing the castor oil on your feet to smooth them out, then you don't need the heat and yes, you can keep the flannel and plastic on overnight. I hope this helps. :)

Won't the chemicals from the plastic wrap be drawn into the Castir oil, then into the body? Aren't you trying to detox the body?

Great question. If the plastic wrap were directly on the skin - I would agree. But there’s a thick separation between the skin - flannel - wrap and heating pad. So it’s safe.
