  • Ok in this video I go through what we are doing and what we have done to this M37 truck. Oh and a made a flub when saying what the primary and secondary resistance should have been it was 6 ohms and 10,000 ohms.
A lot of work has been done but we had to go backwards before we moved forwards.

Great work by you two Larry, and Ron is a good motivator and a big help to. Thanks Slim.

Yes well I am to the point where what else can go wrong now. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't spend so much on parts that I haven't used. But at least now we know why the engine was so unstable. Thanks for watching.

Good stuff Larry, that's the way it seems to go sometimes, especially when you're dealing with old vehicles. One step forward and two steps back.

Yes it does go that way sometimes. You have to take two steps backwards to go forward. Now that we know our timing mark is where it should be as long as we don't put the distributor in 180 degrees out we should have a running engine ready to drive.

What a monster of a distributor. You sure don't see them these days. I get it Larry, seeing the truck every day can start to drive you crazy; maybe a break for a few days would help. All good work Man :)

Yes it is big well everything on this truck is big. Finally gave up on the waterproof spark plugs yesterday and installed conventional plugs. The other plugs had such a high resistance it had a hard time getting a good spark. But the coil puts out an amazing spark. So tested the new ones worked perfectly. We keep finding out more weird things wrong with this truck all the time and have to fix them to continue on.

    Larry,
That thing looks like an old Hamilton Beach milkshake mixer...or electric drill. Good future parts sources for it.
    Regards,
    John

Thanks for watching John. Yes it does kind of look like that. Once we get the distributor in and make sure the timing mark is lined up it should be a more stable runner again.

what I learned about my m37 this month you have to PULL the distributor to set the points

Exactly right it really is the best way to set the points. Thanks for watching.
