  • Kaz from Surrey Auto Works kindly returned the Green Golf back to us at last month's Heretics meet, and since then we've been enjoying tinkering and taking it for a spin.
If you haven't already, please check out the last update on the Surrey Auto Works channel, detailing in full the great work that they did for us.

Need to change your Mk2 Golf fan switch? Here is the version we fitted.

This is the aerial we used too - technically listed for a Porsche 911, but it seems to look more like the original, especially when we re-used the top trim and chrome cover from the original.

Enjoyed the video? Got some ideas on what we should do next?

Thanks guys, great to work with you again on this, and sure it won't be the last time... The Jetta needs some attention, but we plan to drag it out of the naughty corner for a check-over soon!!

Thanks for watching, and glad you are a fan of our green Golf. Yes, the Mk4 Golf will become a cherished classic one day, especially in the more unusual colour options, like yours in dark green...They don't make cars like they used to sadly.

Thanks for your comments - we are constantly expanding our range, and we're as keen as you are to include parts from OE brands such as Hella in this growth. It's not quite as simple as asking them to make more; many of these parts have been out of production for years and whilst there is demand from the classic sector, it may not be worth their while to invest in the tooling to make the parts when the numbers are significantly smaller than a similar part for modern cars.

I'm at 8 mins or so in - enjoying the video but the background sound v's mike sound is a bit kack. Sounds like compressor airguns, crow's or magpies? Car is quality though 👍

Thanks for your feedback - our workshop is in the corner of our warehouse, where we send upwards of 1000 parcels a day. Sadly, we do have to accept that there will be packing sounds, such as tape guns and pallet wrap being used - the bird noises, well we are also less than half a mile from the sea, so there are Seagulls everywhere!!
Glad you like the car, and we will do our best to suppress these noises, or film during quieter periods.

@@driveheritage Cheers - maybe better mics with that fluffy stuff on them to drown out background noise? I'm no expert on this btw ha ha. Or maybe mess about with where you wear the mics possibly? And yea it is a nice Mk2 - I have a white small bumper GTI with a rear silencer on it from yourselves from back when you were VW heritage I think?

@@Geckatron Yeah all good things for us to try. The big thing for anyone making content is just starting... Now we have started, we can start to finesse the quality and experiment with regards to the type of content that our audience are interested in watching. Appreciate your feedback.
And the GTI silencer - the stainless steel one perhaps?
