Dave is an encyclopedia of pop references make him a genius. Combine that with playing with incredible talent like EVH and Steve Vai was the recipe for killer music in the 70-80s. Sadly now children don’t get true talent as a influence it’s the internet insta celebrity crap that they aspire for. It’s sad.

VH didn’t do SH!t after the 80s either. Imho

Van halen sucked after dave.. sorry it did
sure did! only one frontman and thats our dave!
David Lee Roth defines the Van Halen sound !
I still liked what they did after Roth. But it just wasn’t The Mighty Van Halen!

I dropped them like a hot potato after Dave !
IMHO Eddie Van Halen was musically dead after 1984 without Dave !
I bought ADKOT but they totally butchered it in the mixing with way way way too much compression !
They should have hired Ted Templeman and Donn Landee.
They know what they're doing !

I really love DD but I really wish he hadn`t started wearing those clownish clothes like in the Yankee Rose video here...He could get away with just about anything but that was a step too far and then we got poodle twits like Poison and Warrant copying it and looking even worse because they didn`t even have DDs talent and athleticism and charisma to back it up.
9:55 is it really Boy George? Cameo Appearance?
No
I thought it was insightful.
Roths colossal mistake was he left VH too early. He should've finished out the 80s in Van Halen. Made two more records with them. THEN go solo, form a new band on 1-1-1990...
