How To Engage Viewers So They Follow
The first piece of actionable advice is to engage every viewer on an individual level. I’ve said this in a few videos but I still see streamers not doing this, if someone talks in your chat, say hi to them, BUT GO A STEP FURTHER, ask them how their day is going, or say, “Have you beaten this game yet?” or what country are you watching from?
Engage them in a way that makes them feel welcome, and encourage that conversation and chat. Without a community of people willing to chat and welcome new members, a stream will never grow.
I know this sounds obvious but the amount of times I see new people join other streamers chats and say, “Hi” meekly to test the waters only to get a “Hey Bootyyman69” and then nothing else is very rough. They’re in chat, chat to them!
I said followers don’t matter right? That’s true, hitting the follow button means nothing, but if you have someone actively engaged and wanting to be a part of the community and active in the chat then that follower is more valuable and important to nurture than anything.
Actionable Tip: Ask questions, and engage every chatter.

How To Use Calls To Actions To Gain Followers
I mentioned this in my Streamlabs Cloudbot video and my Stream Labels video, but call to actions are really powerful, often people forget they can follow or sometimes they forget they can even chat because they’re used to just chucking a stream on in the background.
Have a call to action, that isn’t super pushy and in your face, can be very powerful. These days I use a timed bot in my chat to remind people gently that if they are enjoying the content then they can follow the channel.
The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and Gaming Careers in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Wild4games and Nutty.

long term goal- become a full-time streamer and prove to my parents that you can do as a career

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 года назад +43

Only 0.2% of people end up being Streamers as a full time career, and even then it is a huge amount of work and luck. Make sure you have a back up plan and are working to improve yourself in other places as well because sadly the odds are stacked heavily against new streamers.
Don’t forget to set small goals that you can achieve entirely by yourself as well! Followers and viewers have a luck aspect to them but if you set small goals that are entirely in your control like “I am going to upgrade my mic settings and filters before next stream” or “I am going to research my bitrate settings”
These will go a long way to helping you avoid burn out and still seeing your own progress! Good luck!

@@StreamScheme I kinda wanna proof that too to my parents, plus it helps me because I got autism and adhd wich are just names but I basically have problems with planning, keeping concentration on things I don't like, and consistently caring about keeping my body healthy and clean. It's going the right way but gaming helps my brain to process all the things out that give me stress (my brain has troubles with processing all the sounds, movements, and just any kind of object, sound or movement that happens around me, It just comes in my brain without it got just filtered out and overtime with too much my mood and energy start decreasing)
So if I can make people have a good time while it helps "My brain emptying from stress" I take that opportunity. I started like a month ago and got almost 130 followers and having the affiliate already wich its pretty crazy and can't thank the people who helped me achieve that enough. (even tho I streamed a little too much: almost 150 hours in 35 days, it's because I have to deal with alot of problems I got but if this makes me happy what mostly gives me alot of motivation to get my life on a track that will make me have a life that I later appreciate to have, I would try it out.
And 1 more goal is to get like as much as possible people to look a video i will make of what autism, and all other "mental disorder" names, (correct me if I said that wrong I don't mean it in a harmfull and bad way) are, and explain what is happening in the person's brain and what would help to make that person not feel like an outstander with a disability that keeps them from achieving their goals (everyone has "mental disorders" they just have to give it a name for no reason, and we didn't know alot of those names a couple of tens of years ago, because they didn't exist that time.
And thnx for helping me getting the information was already using to stream but now can even use better with ur clear and good explanations of how to do things. I think u make streaming for even 1 person for the most people already fun. Keep up the good work u make!!

Add on a “I will tweak a piece of tech or quality to be better every week” or “I will plan talking points every day of this week” these are just examples but they are goals you can complete without anyone else.

Good luck!
