7 CRUCIAL Twitch Growth Tips For Small Streamers In 2021!

- Опубликовано: 9 июн 2024
- Reaching Twitch Affiliate is almost every single Small Streamers goal, How do I know that? The reality is a lot of streamers struggle to reach affiliate even after 50 followers because they can’t grow their average viewers, and many who do reach affiliate never grow much further than that...
Today I am going to cover some crucial steps you are missing, as well as give you one of the best engagement tools I have EVER come up with. Let’s go.

How To Use Call To Actions To Grow On Twitch
A call to action is something that is designed to make a viewer or user engage with something of your choice. For example, it can be as simple as saying, “Hey, if you’re enjoying the stream, consider following, it is free and helps us out!” or more complicated by having full animated graphics appear to remind people to subscribe to your RUclips Channel.
What does all this mean? If you are going to use on-screen goals for CTA’s, you are better focusing on follower growth, and setting smaller goals that are achievable in order to make people feel their contribution matters. Daily goals of 5 - 15 followers depending on your channel size, or a single sub for example with some sort of reward for the viewers if you reach said goal.

How To Use Channel Points To Engage Chatters
The greatest engagement tool I have ever created, you do need to be affiliated to do it the way I am going to show BUT there are workarounds as well. Did you know, when you follow a channel on Twitch, you receive 200 - 300 channel points, also once you receive enough channel points to spend on a reward, Twitch will popup in your chat and tell you to try it.
If a viewer follows, or simply watches for a bit and gains those 300 points, and then you have a channel point redeem like mine, that costs 200 points and is called, “Say “Hi! I Am New!” then Twitch will popup and say, “Why not use this?”
I used to have a Posture check reward, and I noticed after every follow, someone would use it, leading me to understand how the system works. By changing it to “Say “Hi! I Am New!” I created a call to action that allowed me to greet and meet new viewers, and instantly make them feel comfortable as chatters.

Great video. I hit the affiliation Mark but didn't go through with the onboarding gonna try a different path. But if someone donated $3 via tips would that still allow me to participate in the hype? Train
Also I was thinking about doing that because I don't have Channel points using the cloud Bots point system do you have a video on that?
@@Thedadpanther Tips aren't a twitch system so no, that's why I explain specifically the events to create one.
@@Thedadpanther I have a video that covers cloudbot set up, check out the channel :)
"You're a small streamer, turn off follower only chat for the love of god!"
THANK YOU! THE AMOUNT OF STREAMERS I'VE CLICK ON THEN INSTANTLY CLICKED OFF OF BECAUSE THEY HAD FOLLOWER ONLY CHAT WAS UNREAL
It's a rough one!
I hate followers only chat
Turned on followers only chat to see what it was like and forgot to turn it off and my views TANKED
I made this mistake... never again RIP
There's someone constantly harassing me. It keeps on making a lot of sock puppet account to harrass me. I've reported them to Twitch but like I'm a nobody, don't think Twitch will even look at it. I hate turning it on but I have to or else it harrass me, my mods, and chat gets annoyed too. Idk why only follower only chat gets rid of it.
Honestly, my short term goal is to become an affiliate, but my long term goal is just to make people laugh, and that's really the whole point I'm streaming on twitch.
Exactly, and that's a great mindset to have!
@@PunjabiPiccolo Thanks dude!
Affiliate status isn't worth it. Aim for partner.
Other way dude. You want to make people laugh on your way to affiliate/partner.
same! I was eligible for affiliate months ago, but i never activated it cause I don’t want money, I just want laughs ^_^
If you can get Bootman69's attention, you *know* your stream is getting better and better.

"turn off follow-only" chat! yes! as soon as i see that when i try to chat i'm like "ok..... bye"
Follow-only chat? More like dead chat, Am I Right?! hahaha That was dumb, but honestly it is wild.
@@somechicken9862 I think turning it on temporarily to deal with an influx of trolls is totally legit, but just leaving it on doesn't feel right.
I only turn it on whenever I see bots coming in typing “want more viewers?” It gets annoying
@@somechicken9862 yeah most of the time I got like 4 or 5 but on days I have only me and maybe someone else they pop in
I just want to say THANK YOU!!! I started my channel maybe about a month or two ago and I wasn’t getting many viewers at all. But a couple of weeks ago once I started getting things like a facecam and started interacting with my viewers, I started getting about an average of about 3-5 viewers and now am at 30 followers. Seriously guys, the tips that this guy gives are amazing :))))
Smashing it, Gefus! Keep it up mate! :)

I have an average of 2 viewers and I still grind for hours bc I know the grind will pay off. Whatever blocks you in your path to greatness, knock it down and keep going you got this
this is motivational bro i have an average of 1-3 viewers as well & sometimes it’s knocks me down but i gotta remember why i do it
I also have a 1-3 viewer average and having a schedule really keeps me motivated to stream.
how many do u average 9 months later bro?
I have a question!! How did you get out of the 30-40 viewership and get to above 50-75? :) you’ve helped me get an average of 39 viewers and I started 3 months ago!!! THANK YOU
That is mainly from community building BUT collaborations go a long way as well, finding people with similar content and communities to make content with goes a long way :)
Full on "twitch as a hobby" mode right now. Taking into account that I can't keep a schedule right now, i still typically get 1-3 followers on and chatting as soon as I start streaming, whenever that is. It's super fun and makes my day.
I'm just a Discord moderator, and not even a streamer. Your tip still help me a lot to engage with people in my Discord server. Thank you a lot.
Glad I could help! That is great to know!
I made affiliate within 30 days and average 7 viewers using so many of your tips. I watched these before I started streaming and went in with your teachings and it really worked! Thank you!

Eljay from finding your channel to now being an actual member of you're incredible Community I say thank you. Late last year my avarage Twitch viewers were around 8. Still amazing and incredibly grateful. But from learning from you, using your engagement tools, the music, planning the content I am now pushing towards 18/25 advarage viewers. Your advice works and your channel is incredible. Every stream I pop in I see massive progression and you honestly deserve it. Another great video.

This stuff is legit, before I was at 1-2 viewers until I started doing minecraft hypixel streams saying don't be shy, hop on! Then I went form 1 viewer to affiliate within 2-3 weeks. I can't wait to start using the big tip to see how much farther I go.
Good luck, Cosmic!

any tips ?
@@dbzyanni One small tip that has been helping me recently is by not looking at the viewer count, it has helped me create better content without lowering my mood. Interact with chat. And try streaming at or near the same time every stream.
@@dbzyanni Oh also, shake up stream every once and a while, even if it has less views, it can create better bounds with viewers, I do this at least once a week to reach out to other viewers. But make sure to go back to your normal content to keep your current viewers.
The tip about transitioning and types of content was incredibly useful!! Also, finally someone mentions the follower-only chat, I've seen really good streams being held back because of this.
Glad it was helpful! Honestly, follower only is just wild... so rough seeing it.
@@StreamScheme A last question I have is, should I stream 2/3/4 games simultaneously before finding the one that really works on the channel and fousing in it or it is better to start steaming only 1 game since the beginning? Sorry for bothering 😅
I commented on one of your vids a few months ago after watching a couple and was streaming to 0 viewers on the daily your reply really motivated me to keep trying and now I'm an affiliate sitting at 20 average viewers!!! Thank you so much for motivating me and making these tip videos!
Sounds like you're working hard, Derpy! Keep it up! :)
That's really inspiring! What's your twitch channel called?
I 100% agree with sticking to one thing for growth, i managed affiliate back when i started by speedrunning a single niche game
Oohhh what game?
Hyper Light Drifter :D
That last tip is absolutely crazy. I'm making that a redeem right now!
I love it so much! It has already been so helpful every single stream to keep new viewers engaging! Good luck!
Just hit affiliate and that last thing about channel points is amazing. 100% doing that now, I struggle to get the chatters so it would help a lot!
Congrats on hitting affiliate!
Yeah, I made sure to quickly add at least SOME channel point things, so they have something to spend them on. Even if it's just a "hydrate" or "stretch". I also added some stuff that is not on every stream, like Japanese-Only Mode for me. Or even some sound alerts! People love playing them, especially if it hits at a 'perfect' spot in the stream. And having them be channel points instead of bits is also more likely to be used, as not everybody has bits to spend. (Though I also have sound alerts that are 0 bits, so everyone can play without worry)
As someone who is the cofounder of a tech start up, I can appreciate how important having a C2A is, as you put so much work into your content and if there isnt anything for your viewers to do at the end, its like all that hardwork has gone down the drain!
Hi, I just wanted to thank you for your amazing videos. I watched them before I even started streaming and have gained over 100 followers in less than two weeks, thanks to you! You have helped me stay humble during this process and really consider my followers. I've actually put off the affiliate thing until I watch more of your videos so I know exactly what I'm getting myself into lol, so thank you so much. You are truly awesome.
OMG that last tip is actually INSANE. Putting it in RIGHT AWAY
Heck yeah!
Thank you so much for these awesome tips. I hadn’t even thought of that last one. I’m excited to try it out tonight on stream! I just love your content and how it pushes me to reflect on my stream and improve it.
You got this! Good luck, Lindsey! Let me know how your channel point redeem goes! :)
I've started on twitch recently and I came across your videos, I've been setting most of your tools up that I can before reaching affiliate, and it's been a major help! Thanks for your content! I've subscribed just so I can see more of these helpful ones!
Yooooo! Thanks for the advice about the stream goals widget! Forgot that was a thing ❤️❤️❤️❤️ your videos are always so helpful and I too make informational content on helping other creators and often times refer my friends/clients to your channel! Great stuff ElJay!

Fantastic! That isn't me though mate! That is your own hard work! Seriously, keep it up! You're doing great!
Didn't realize I was doing something right already. I started getting more traction from ASMR after streaming whatever games I wanted to stream. Decided to stick to it. The channel points tip, too! Excellent video, man!

Most of my community will not watch if follow only mode is off because they don't want my stalker to flood the chat

Amazing video, great information and it's exactly what I needed to watch before my stream. Even after reaching affiliate the work doesn't stop there, there is so much more to do, and I get that people get excited to reach affiliate but after that it's easy to get demotivated when you don't see your channel grow past those 5 viewers or 75 followers. That's where I think this video is super important to watch...the information that you provide on here is crucial and actually very motivating...so yeah thank you!🙏

That point redemption is an exceptional idea. I had a “hydration alert” and realized watching another streamer people kept redeeming a similar reward because it was so cheap after following. So I dropped my hydration but was trying to think of something more interactive. This is an amazing suggestion!
Im not 100% sure but I think youre able to add a cooldown to channel point redemptions

Your videos are very educational, you really put a lot of effort in them and as a small streamer I appreciate it a lot 😁
Set up my "I'm New" reward just now. Thanks for the tip. We'll see how it goes over the next few streams. I don't pick up many new folks anymore because I stream when most people are getting ready for and heading to work in the mornings. Limits viewers unfortunately, but nightshift means I'm beholden to a whole other schedule. Fortunately, I have a few regulars and we all have a grand ol' time.
People are heading to work in your timezone, but there are other timezones out there! What time do you stream and what categories? Time has never really been a factor as to why you should or shouldn't be getting viewers. Hope the tips help!
@@StreamScheme a few of my viewers are Aussies getting ready for bed or Euro getting home from early shifts. Then some friends stateside who are work-from-home types. I only stream hardcore mode classic wow, so majority of viewers are other players who can't be playing at the time. it's a small and tight-knit community with not a lot of branching out into other genres or anything. I'm fine with that. This is a hobby to chat with friends who enjoy similar gameplay, not make a living. :)

@@StreamScheme i will try it and report back. lost my GME tendies but maybe i should have been investing in myself this whole time.
As a small streamer, I always enjoy talking one on one with viewers, bouncing topics off and having a comfy conversation. BUT, sometimes questions I ask may feels too specific or too in-depth, so I feel like it just becomes awkward. What are ways to get past that feeling, or even just know limits for the topic of conversation? In addition, probably another thing is how should we properly react to those certain viewers who come into chat and talk about negative things? (i.e. depression, something terrible, etc.) If you already made a video segment on any of this, please let me know!
Thank you for this vid though! Helps alot! \o/
"BUT, sometimes questions I ask may feels too specific or too in-depth" avoid this, and keep it general, that is the best way to do it! Talk broad relatable topics!
" probably another thing is how should we properly react to those certain viewers who come into chat and talk about negative things?" My mods will usually at the person and say the chat isn't the place for that type of discussion due to nobody being trained professionals, they'll clear the message, and tell the person to type !mentalhealth or they'll type it themselves so that my bot sends a command with a link to support lines.
and we all keep moving.
Hope this helps mate!
