I just got a job as a paraprofessional for a first grader , I’m so nervous….. I’m scared for this transition and change , but you make it look so easy.
Hey! Congratulations! It’s normal to be nervous at first, but you’ll get used to it. I hope you enjoy it. Good luck!!
Hello, I am a paraprofessional in special education program. Please do not be afraid, friend. Trust yourself and you can do it. I started that role from last September and plan to continue at least one more year during my personal transition time. Trust yourself!
I have my interview next week for a paraprofessional position with the high school. I'm really nervous but your videos have been a blessing to me! 💖
Congratulations! I’m sure you’ll do great! Let me know how it goes.
How did it go? I have interviews coming up. I’m curious about your experience
Just got a job as a para! Can you do a video on outfits of the week? Im lost lost on what to wear!
I sure can! Congratulations 🎉 That’s so exciting!
Enjoyed this. We are actually in similar stages in our journey as I am starting as a one on one para tomorrow, I have my substitute license (yet to begin in a class) and I am in my last year of my Masters of Elementary Education. I intend to follow this journey. I enjoy the inspiration! Can't wait to see more!
Thank you for watching! Congrats on being in your last year of your master’s program. I basically have a year left too. This time next year I’ll be student teaching. It’s so fun to have people on a similar journey as you 💕💕💕💕
JUST CAME ACROSS YOUR VLOG. GREAT ADVICE. HAVE A BLESSED SCHOOL YEAR.
Thank you for watching! ❤️
Just found your channel. I just decided I wanted to start this journey. I worked with littles for years and want to become a paraprofessional.
Thanks for watching! That’s great. I hope all goes well 🙏🏽💕
I’m excited for this school year
Me too! Will you be teaching?
I’m a custodian for a middle school but I’m working to become a paraprofessional. I want work with the younger kids that way I don’t have to worry about helping them with algebra or geometry which I’m not the best at. But hopefully this video will calm my nerves. My main question is what do paraprofessionals do after school is done like do they have other jobs or something else?
That’s amazing! Paras are usually free to go after they’re done with whatever duty they have in the afternoons during dismissal (car, bus, daycare).
I am starting my job as a student focused paraprofessional and was wondering if you could do a video on what you do as a para?
That’s awesome! I would love to make a video about that. I also have a tips video coming soon for those interested in being paraprofessionals.
Are you able to get an emergency teaching license and teach next year? Since you have a bachelors degree you should be able to do that!
Yes, I could teach if I wanted to via an alternate route. Strategic waiver, provisional certificate, etc. However, I decided to just wait until I’m certified. I’m in no rush.
This is interesting as my granddaughter is starting 1st grade and I am taking the para-pro exam.
Awesome!! Good luck! 💕
SPED?! What a gift you have ❤
Thank you! It’s the best job to be able to work with kids.
I want to apply but it's insane how paraprofessionals get paid under 30k and I have a bachelors. My current job without a bachelors pays 43. I want to make the switch to get summers off but they need to pay more
Definitely need to pay more. I was telling someone the other day I would've stayed a para for the rest of my life if the job paid more because I loved it. I was making less than 20K.
I recently accepted a position as a Kindergarten Aide within a catholic school. There will be 1 Kindergarten class in the school with the teacher and me, the aide.
I previously was a preschool & pre-k lead teacher for 7.5 at a small private owned preschool. I’m nervous for this transition into an elementary school.
Any tips on how to be a great assistant for my teacher?
7.5 years
That’s awesome! You’ll love kindergarten. I filmed a paraprofessional tips video. It’s not specific to any grade and just general tips that I think will help any paraprofessional. I did plan on filming a part 2 before becoming a teacher. I may still do it.
Nice video ❤ enjoyed it
I’m glad! Thank you ❤️🥰
Good day! What did you mix up in the cup on the intro?
Hello there! I mixed Starbuck’s iced coffee and creamer. I got them both from Walmart. We usually get the vanilla coffee and caramel macchiato, cinnamon dolce latte, or white chocolate mocha creamers. All are very good.
In this video, it was the vanilla iced coffee and caramel macchiato creamer.
@@_lovelykristen ima try them
Hello, I am planning to start my career as a Para professional teacher, don’t know how and where to start from? I have PR of canada Ontario
Hey. I would start by researching what is required to work as a paraprofessional where you live and go from there.
I want to get hired as a paraprofessional and do night classes while I get my teaching degree
That’s awesome! Best way to get experience while in school! Wishing you the best 💕
What school do you attend online?
Hey. It’s Grand Canyon University.
What grades are you assisting to?
First grade in this video.
First year as a para.. super nervous
It’s so exciting and fun. Try not to be nervous. I was nervous too. I think that’s natural at first. My biggest advice…jump in and help out however you can. Don’t always wait to be told what to do. Be yourself and learn as much as you can. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. That’s how you learn. What kind of para?
