Josh, this is far and away, the best drum album to date. This whole band keeps evolving with time. Its amazing and inspirational.
I love the experimental sound on this album man. It's so varied throughout, then capped off by three of the strongest tracks I've ever heard from any band. And dude your drumming is just *chefs kiss* thank you for bringing this music into the world.

Me and my wife have a baby coming in two weeks. Whenever I hear "I'll take you home, this child of ours" I burst into tears. This is close to my favourite Coheed song.
I became a father right before this album was released. I think this is objectively one of their best albums on its own merit, but it has special meaning for me. This song in particular brings such emotion. My son is autistic and completely non verbal, and the lyrics soeak to my experience as a parent in such a powerful way. Literally each piece of the song has a personal connection for me and its all the more poetic that my favorite band wrote it. My wife and I have had some rough patches and were contemplating divorce prior to getting pregnant. The challenge of parenthood, especially of our special little boy, despite the difficulty, has been the greatest gift for us and our family. Whenever I feel defeated or useless, I remember the words to sing to my son, "so life gets hard, but it's no excuse or your fault..." and the words that hit home the most "am I wrong or did he save me?" Are 100% true...this is a masterpiece and I am so thankful that it came right when I needed it most.

The song's both about the characters saving their psychic son, and about Claudio's worries for his IRL son growing up, telling him he'll be there no matter what, cause he's afraid his son will grow up misunderstood like he was.
It's absolutely a gorgeous piece.

So glad to see someone actually reacting to this album. Masterpiece of an album by CandC. Especially the musical reprisals and callbacks to other songs. This song in particular was on of my favs it hit me hard as a father of two sons. "So life gets tough, but its no excuse or your fault. My brightest star, shine your light on us all" ..that bridge before the reprise gets me everytime.
Fun Fact! FX actually did use about 30 seconds of the "Old Flames" leitmotif for an ad they ran during the 2019 Emmy awards.
this song instantly jumped to my top 10 coheed songs which is huge considering how good the first 3 albums are to me. actually incredible song. i hope they keep going in this direction
I saw them live in San Diego a month ago and they absolutely blew me away!! I went to a few shows during the first 4 albums and loved them as well but I can't believe how far they have come with stage performance! it was a rock ballet. Completely entertained all the way through and the sound was breathtaking. BRAVO!

I’m not sure where I saw it, but in an interview Claude talked about writing a musical and I’m 1000% convinced the 5 part Vaxis anthology is what that project turned into. I was pretty convinced after the video for Old Flames but this song cemented it for me. I know everyone wants shows and movies, but I feel like this belongs on a stage. With a live band (preferably Coheed themselves) playing the tunes and telling the story through dance and vignettes between songs. It’s just so good. This has been my favorite album since Good Apollo. I believe it’s #3 for me total. Awesome reactions, your astonishment is the same we all felt, and your face read “I can’t believe this is what I’m hearing and I don’t want it to end” so well. Subscribing for sure. This album feels so theatrical and cinematic I love it. I’ve been a fan of theirs for years, and this is my favorite album since No World for Tomorrow.

Like many Coheed songs on first listen, you never know what you're going to hear or where you're going but it's always a journey of emotions. I love all of their stuff but these last two albums have been on another level for me. I've been a fan for over 10 years and have loved watching the progression and growth of these talented musicians over the years. Great stuff.
Thats why so many love them. They are always pushing to be more creative.
Songs like this one from them light up everything in my life, hard to explain.

Every time they release something new, we all get crazy pumped. There aren't many bands out there that can bring people together like that.
