Lowest-rated Hurricane engine 420hp in a Wrangler? That ought to be loads of fun.
Mopar's 2JZ!
Stellantis wishes
Will this Hurricane 6 engine go into the Wrangler and Gladiator? If so, I’m waiting to buy one!!!
For me I chose the Hemi V8 over the stupid Hurricane Inline Six anyday just like I chose the 5.0L Coyote V8 over the Ecoboost V6 anyday.
Will the 3.0 straight 6 hurricane engine fot into a gladiator?
Maybe they need to try the i6 cylinder in the jeep gladiator truck or wrangler, it might very well match up really good
It would pretty cool if they brought back inline 8 engines back !!
You mean to tell me it’s the 2020’s and we’re still using fucking timing belts?!?!?!
No
It has timings chains but there in the rear 😒
Honda is
Timing belts are newer technology than chains. They're generally favored for their quieter running characteristics. Belts have a bad reputation due to people neglecting them, but a surprising number of engines have issues with their timing chains as well. Chain tensioner and guides tend to give out with less warning than belt tensioner and pulleys, especially if you assume that chains are maintenance-free.
There's a really big problem with this video, as for explaining the twin turbos, the computer graphics are not showing the images of twin turbos, so if it's gonna be a twin turbo then you really need to show the given twin turbos, if and when this ever happens,
2023 Dodge studied the bmw b58 inline 6. Asking a lot from a 3 litre ? Ether one seems like a great motor SO or HO, if reliable ? ? ? We`ll see.
Can’t wait for them to sell crate motors. My Mk3 Supra needs a new heart.
Dude you explaining how an engine works! Everyone who clicked this video already knows this! I would have loved for you to explain the specs of the engine! But instead you think your audience are in grade school! We way smarter then you think 🤦🏾♂️
How long till we see a crate s6 hurricane? Love to drop one in my gladiator
I thought about throwing one in the Grand Cherokee I didn't want lol
Thought they said "this summer" pretty much
The 3.6 V6 that is currently offered in the Wrangler and Gladiator is truly under powered for what most people use these vehicles for. Definitely need the Hurricane engine in these vehicles. Okay Jeep!
If could it handle it add a booster to the v6
Anyone owning a classic A-Body that came with a Slant Six will be wondering if a Hurricane will fit.
The hurricane has aluminum cylinders with a SPRAY ON cylinder liner. This is not a good formula for longevity.
How long will that engine last. You put a lot of boost on a small engine , is there that much difference in power and fuel mileage.
Yes because they didn't simply throw a turbo on an established motor like back in the 80's. This motor was designed from the ground up for twin turbos. Cylinder pressures & all. It's not just a 100k mile motor.
@@scottpearce7466 time will tell
It's peepy, got one of these in my rental wagoneer. But I'd still prefer the V8. Guess new vehicles are out of my future
Not a deep dive.
I heard a viscous rumor that this engine has no dipstick for checking the oil. Sure hope that isn't true. Multiple BMWs have been ruined by low oil reports (from the computer) inspiring the addition of tooo much oil. With no dipstick to double check the computer report.
The cartoons also implied GDI without port injection. That is not good either.
I won't buy turbos, or GDI without port injection, or a vehicle with no engine oil dipstick.
Love my ‘17 Wrangler 3.6V6. It’s easy to maintain and work in by the mechanics, whom I am friends with, after many visits! 😂 #jeeplife😭
Any new engine would be a disaster.
Misleading title! You did not go inside the Hurricane engine and this was not a deep dive. You simply read out loud their press release. Very disappointing. Gear heads who want to study the details of this engine need to look elsewhere.
This video about the twin turbos does not give a clear view of the twin turbos point blank, if I were stellantis dodge, I would show an actual engine, cause the whole idea of a twin turbo sounds really interesting BUT
I haven't seen anything that really shows the actual twin turbos, if you have one main intake mounted and functioning with only one turbo, I don't think I would be calling your i6 a twin turbo if you can only see one turbo, you folks need a better video
Twin turbos are going to be a maintenance black hole. I can’t wait to see how bad Stellantis mucks up this engine.
Yes, no one else uses twin turbos, no one.
@@wolf986 False. BMW has a Twin Turbo Straight 6 and it runs fantastic and hasn't been a maintenance monster at all.
@@Donkeys_Dad_Adam It a little sarcasm, everyone has a twin turbo engine these days
Feels like someone lacks of BMW engine experiences a bit
it will last only a 105k miles then fail!!
Marketing info.
Either Hurricane motor will not out run the 5.7L Hemi in both 0 to 60 and quarter mile. That motor is a slug. Quality of the turbo will not last long in normal use. Wait for the fully electric version to arrive before you buy.
FCA is back to making Quality vehicles again they saying the Hurricane is built to last well into the 300k
If gasoline explodes in an engine, it's called "knock". Yea, um, that's bad. Typically, the gasoline burns quickly. This is basic info for an internal combustion engine.
If it explodes prematurely* If it isn't exploding inside your engine at all you have a problem. That's why they call it the "combustion" chamber on the "combustion" engine.
@@meedak3449 Combustion means "the process of burning something". It should NEVER be exploding in your engine.
@@Holler_RatYou're trying to split hairs on wording. And you would be technically incorrect. So I really don't care what you think.
That is the dumbest narraration I've ever heard... Jesus... 😂
The guys voice on this is really annoying
Jeep - the lowest rated brand on the market today. 🤢
2022 Jeep Wrangler Consumer Reports rating 28%. The lowest in CR history.
👎🏿
Fun to drive when it works. Cant speak for everything else
Their service is the worst. Dealers are the problem.
Yup! Jeep isn't the same company anymore. And they're relying solely on prior success. You just can't completely remake the Wrangler and then still call it a Wrangler. It's like how Ford is calling that SUV electric thing a Mustang 🤣 😔
@@yolo_burritoNot the dealer I go to
Sure doesn't affect resale value
