Alex's videos encouraged me to do DIY brake job this summer. I was overwhelmed at first but after watching the videos it was easy! Saved so much and next will be bleeding the brakes! Thank you!!
@JJ; Also remember thinking that brakes were something just for the brake shop experts and was inhibited though am very mechanical. Then, during my mechanics course at the University, brakes and many other aspects became clear how very simple they are to work, on especially, disk brakes compared with drum, though they are not difficult either. Thus, everyone that has some basic mechanical ability can easily replace the pads, and frequently, before any damage to the disks occur. Often, if the pads are allowed to wear to much, the disk surface can become damaged, and need resurfacing, but not replacement. Am actually very surprised to see that these disks had such warping damage with the relatively short usage, time period. Also they are not well vented disks that higher performance vehicles have. Still, though, my 1979 MB 280E, when purchased from the original owner, in 1989, with all repair documentation, excellent condition, 125k miles, had perfect disks on all four axles. Also my other Japanese vehicles from Toyota 1974, 5, 8, Mazda 1976, never had any such issues with the disks warping with multiple times more mileage and years. Those disks were also simple design and manufacture similar with what these look like. All The Best and Much Success in Your Quest, DIY work, Health and Well Being. Sincerely
You chose the changes exactly as I would have! It looks amazing and it is an amazing car as a daily driver... and at the track. Soul does not come from the noise a car makes, it comes from seeing your competition in the rear view mirror and the people in your car that are smiling 😎
Alex you can live and follow your dream or let others define those things are you. Personally a Tesla isn't on my list of priorities but I respect your decision and wouldn't question your choice. Just continue being a good person, good husband, good father and be satisfied with the rewards that come with that. Beyond that, everything is gravy. Be safe, travel well, work hard and be grateful
These vendor partners you go to are amazing! The carbon fiber looks great and love the wheels!! As always I just spent 40+ minutes of my day watching your video and enjoying every doggone minute.😂😂😂Love your channel Alex- keep up the awesome work and thank you for sharing your vendor partners magic with us!
His content just keeps getting better and better. Can't wait until he has 1M subscribers, which seems inevitable, as that will ensure his long-term place in the RUclips pantheon as one of the very best in this category. Subscribe!
Your Tesla looks great! Also think it’s awesome that you showcase various shops around Chicagoland so folks who live there can see what kind of work they do. Well done.
Hi Alex, I watch legit Street cars every video you put up. Jus want to say you are one of the best creators on RUclips. Your videos are a pleasure to watch with great content. You explain everything you do with a lot of information. I have many problems with my car and really aren't in a position to pay to get them fixed. But watching your videos with the information you clearly explain I feel confident enough to try fix some of the problems myself. Thankyou very much and I look forward to more great content from yourself. Keep up the great work.
Alex.. Absolutely perfect and beautiful. Nicest Tesla that I have ever seen. In my opinion it doesn't need any more carbon on it. The chrome window trim really sets off the side and gives the car a great balance. My only question is why didn't you go with ceramic coat all the way? Thanks for a great video!!!!!
Not a big TESLA fan, but this car is awesome. The paint fix plus the carbon fiber accents and wheels, MAN! 💯💯💯 Awesome videos as always, keep doing your thing!💯👍🏽
Hey Alex, my favorite car of yours is the Rolls Royce, tons of personality!!! The Tesla however is a good car & will make an excellent daily driver!!! 👍🙂
Well done Alex 👍🏻 Great taste in placement of the carbon film 👍🏻 Kudos to the vendors on a great installation too 👍🏻 You hit this on out of the park 👍🏻 Looks Great 👍🏻
My favorite part of this channel is the fact that you provide so much free information on how to do these things on your own, then you supply us with discount codes on all the parts needed to do these things! Dealerships gotta hate you 🤣
Personally, I LOVE the carbon fiber...and you've done it so tastefully! The cutout of the Tesla badge was well worth it and the roof was perfection. Your videos are so damn entertaining...Keep up the GREAT work, Alex.
Looks really good now. All it needs is tinted windows, slight tint on the tail lights, and wrap the red reflector electric plug in doors on both tail lights with gloss black wrap, and also wrap the rear red bumper reflectors with gloss black vinyl
Make the chrome surround around the side windows into "black chrome" like the 20" wheels. It's an impressive effect! Your wheel guys should be able to help you to do that. Are you going to change your 18" or 19" winter wheels color from aluminum/chrome or not? What winter tires are you going to use?
Top Tip : If you are doing a wrap yourself, don't use dish washing soap .. it's full of salt. Even if squeegied out, there will be reside that will dry into nooks and crannies. Car + salt = not a good idea. Use high quality auto shampoo, which I'm sure these pros did. What a result ! And great that as always, Alex gives credit to those local businesses that help him
I wonder if the older glass is stronger than the newer stuff Tesla uses? On my model y the full glass roof has needed replaced twice, due to a rock flinging off a semis tire. So annoying how easily it cracks! Anyways, the subtle changes really transformed the look!
Hey Alex - car looks just like mine, but I have a slow 2017 100D. I might suggest blacking out the chrome around the windows, rocker panels, and the door handles to give it a pseudo Plaid look. Those dudes in Chicago did a fantastic job! Keep up the great videos and watch your speed!
Looks great! What I would change; 1. Wrap the mirrors 2. Remove or update the wood trim 3. Black suede headliner and Landau black pillars (I actually did this to my 1st Gen Scion xB)
What a lovely ride! I wonder if you're planning to coat the 19" wheels as well, they would probably look nearly as good in the same colour as the 21" ones.
You're 100% right about Teslas having no soul but it's a price worth paying - mostly. I'm selling my P85D after 6 months of ownership. I bought it for my wine tour company and I just can't handle all of the build quality issues! I loved driving the car, though!
Peeling clear coat, bad body panel gaps, failing rubber seals. A few other things went wrong in the 6 months but nothing out of the ordinary - replaced charge door, replaced turn signal stalk, replaced window regulator.
The Newer 100Ds are supposed to have improvements in the build quality. Tesla decided to paint bumpers without a primer, just directly paint over the plastics. It peels very easily.
That is THE nicest Tesla I have ever seen! There are a lot in my city and I barely look at them twice but the carbon fiber and chrome looks great and the wheels make this one stand out. I would leave the handles and camera bezel chrome but carbon the window trim.
Cool ride and actually quite a bargain. Just give it to Rich to rebuild….errr….ruin…..errrr who am I kidding he never finishes a project……. In all seriousness well done as always man. Looks fantastic.

Love the minor chrome delete! I would have done the trim around the windows also, but, whatever. You are so lucky that you get to live in a state that you aren't mandated to have a front license plate (Colorado)!
This is the best looking Model S I have seen. I love it and need something to make my Model Y look better. I also totally agree on your view on EV’s. I enjoy my GT350 and other cars as well as the Tesla.

See Super Fast Matt's video on the Tesla door handle and how they evolved from the original design to a better design. As VW used to say "continuous improvement".
Great job, Alex!! The transformation is transformative! Lol Since you asked, if it were mine, I would carbon fiber the door handles, have the window chrome surround painted to match the wheels and smoke the side marker. Thats just me, it honestly is awesome how you have it, I just think it would be a step up to do the three other things on the side profile. Full disclosure though, I am not a fan of chrome on newer vehicles. Vehicles from the 20’s to late 50’s I love it but not so much the newer styles.
I like how you did the badging, showing the chrome through. I did similar on the 5.0 and GT badges on my Mustang. I covered the flat surfaces with black vinyl, while leaving the edges chrome to give it some pop. The Tesla looks really good Alex!
Needs a gloss black chrome delete like mine. Think “shadowline trim” pkg. Also, Look into 20mm spacers from bora for the front. Rear too if you aren’t staggered. $63k is still a good deal.
Sapphire blue over black chrome w actual chrome highlights is killer. Congratulations. You actually picked the exact dynamic configuration to showcase this beastly EV. LOL 👍😎
Alex, I have a crazy idea… hear me out…
What is it though ?
@@simson803 ls swap it.
You thinking what I'm thinking?
Car trek electric style?
Cue flute music
That was a heck of a transformation. You guys did a really amazing job. You have good taste sir!
I agree, usually I do not like the goddy stuff, but this was a perfect match job. Really love the wheel color
Taste is good, not enough Honda, and to much electric (yes I know it’s rare to see electric here)
getting that blue to match is near magic...(why there are so few blue cars).
and those wheels! would look great on my charcoal grey tesla.

This model S looks so good. The only thing i would do more is make the chrome trim look like the black chrome in the wheels.

Big agreement. The car looks totally stock - ie, it doesn't looked messed with. Looks factory finished to the nth degree.
As an old car restorer myself, I can say that you did a beautiful and very tasteful job on that car. Nice step by step video as well.
