Mazda has some of the best paint colors of all manufacturers. The best thing about Mazda is you can go to the dealer and drive one home. A very rare experience these days.
Pretty darn nice for a company that started out as a cork manufacturer. Still, wish it had a touch screen center display and that it didn't stick up outta dash the way it does. Beatiful paint.
Beautiful Mazda, especially in the artisan red paint. Patiently awaiting the CX-70 two row version as I have no desire for a third row. Excellent review Lauren 🇺🇲
That's a very smooth and silky running T-I6. Revs nice. Classy car. Just not quick enough. A Dodge Durango SRT 6.4 is the minimum that I require. Although I absolutely like this wagon! Super Review, Lauren!
Lauren, great video. The CX-90's infotainment screen is touch capacitive on models with the 12.3" screen. However, it's only when you're using Android Auto or Apple Carplay. It doesn't work in the native Mazda system.
I agree. I have a 21 CX-9 GT and will be more than likely buying out my lease next year or getting into a 23 CX-9. Not taking anything away from the CX-90, it's a beautiful car. But to get the same exact amenities you would have to opt for the Turbo S Premium Plus. Obviously everyone is different but 60k is too much for my liking...
I really like the CX90, but don't need 3 rows nor do I want that long of an SUV. I was looking forward to the upcoming CX70 but have been told it's the same length as the 90 which makes no sense to me. If true that's really disappointing. Only need two rows and it be able to fit in the garage, plus be fun to drive.
Wish Mazda would address their 2021 models with the oil consumption problem that could potentially lead to engine failure. They have known about it for almost two years and have yet to send out a recall for it. I have commented on various social media platforms and they just ignore. I believe models that have been affected for 2021 is the CX-30, Mazda 3, Mazda6, CX-5 and the CX-9. Very disappointing.
Nice review. Too bad it's over priced. I have ventilated front seats on my $44k 2021 cx-9 gt. You now need to spend over $50k on the cx-90 to get them. It's a little thing but I also have chrome plated seat controls. You don't get that on any cx-90 trim. And don't get me started about how the cx-90 doors design is straight from a cx-50.
Looks good but useless third row seats and incredibly small cargo space for the size of car. Most of people who want to buy that size of vehicle need usable space.
Before buying, I suggest watching the "car care nut" mechanic's review on the CX-90 inline 6. He will give a very good perspective on maintenance costs once the warranty is expired. Things do break and unfortunately the design of this vehicle does not lend itself to easy repair.
@@Quinton0520 I disagree. I have owned 3 Mazdas, two with over 200,000 miles and other than routine maintenance items, the most I have put into any one of them is $700 for a key fob recognition module and that vehicle was 15 years old. I would put Mazda up against any Toyota for reliability and quality. However, the CX-90 is completely new and from what I now know, it is not designed to be worked on. Just about any engine component that needs replaced requires the entire engine to be removed as there is no room to work on it in place. Hopefully that never happens but for those of us that keep vehicles beyond 100,000 miles, I would stay clear of the CX-60/70/80/90. Mazda seems to following the BMW way where you have a nice vehicle until something goes wrong then you have a money pit
I watched the “car care nut” technical review video a few days ago and he seemed to scare me off from getting a CX90. I know some new car especially ground up new vehicles like the CX90 can have issues but remember it Japan made and assembled so I’m not so worried on reliability. This SUV is taking on two classes the standard and premium segment the CX90 provides a inline 6 turbo, RWD, great quality, great features/tech, great driving dynamics plus a modern transmission I don’t see the problem he talks the entire time about problems that can arise bah bah. The only other vehicle that competes based on power and price is the Toyota grand Highlander and you can’t tell me that the hybrid max powertrain that is optional on the platinum model aren’t complicated let me start a turbo four-cylinder, 2 electric motors, and a battery pack I would love to see his review on that particular model before he comes for the CX 90. So “car care nut” dude can go love on his Toyotas/Lexus cause that’s most of his content anyways.
@@gamelauncher9821 It all depends on how long you keep a vehicle. If less than 3 years and within warranty mileage, then no problem. If you plan on keeping it longer, then you are taking the chance. Things do fail, even on vehicles made in Japan but they usually don't require the engine to be removed to repair. As so one who still does minor maintenance, packaging is very important to me. Even if I don't do the work, I would be paying someone else and with $100/hr labor rates removing the engine to replace a $12 part would not make me happy. Now that the CCN has his own business, he is expanding his videos to include much more than Toyota/Lexus.
@@gamelauncher9821 I don’t think the car care nut guy actually drove a cx90. He said that the handling was not good and it doesn’t have a rear sway bar. Pssh . The cx90 is one of the best handling vehicles in this class.

Agreed!
it has a touch screen if you use apple car play.

Good choice! Thank you!
Unlike the big 3 and Honda junk, this is not highly overrated and/or grossly overpriced.💰🤑👍🤨

I started taking a sip of beer every time I heard "nice" and a swig for "really nice". Hello hangover.

Reminds me of a Lincoln! Will be a HUGE hit; the PHEV model will likely sell out! Lauren, another fabulous review from you! ❤
Yes! Thank you!
She is the best!
Saw one at Northtown Today boy it’s nice.
I LOVE MAZDA! I’m glad they’re keeping a 6 cylinder in this world of ridiculous government push for electric.
FYI, THE I6 T makes 340hp. Not 319. Source, Car and Driver.
That color gaaahhhh🤩
Mazda offers the best colors
Awesome review!
That third row looks comfortable.
Did you encounter any issues with the transmission being jerky/looking for gears? I've seen a few reviews that mentioned it.
Just bought a 23 CX9 instead of this. At $47000, in GT trim, I feel I got a lot more car for the money.

So I would like to hear your honest opinion-this or Grand Highlander hybrid max ?

The bones are there to make a good sports/GT car. A two seat or 2+2, rear or AWD.

That's true on 22 cx9 touring + for 40K you have almost everything but in cx90 you have to pay a lot more

Mazda has changed to greater looks. Back in the days it was a hard sell but I would consider buying a rx8
Mazda 🏁🏁🏁

My one disappointment is that this Mazda is bigger on the outside than on the inside. Too narrow in back
The tech is still very dated compared to a tesla, and not going to lie to me the interior already looks dated!
Don't buy it. The timing chain is in the rear of the straight 6 engine. You have to take the engine out to change the timing chain.
