Fascinating! I guess it's a little like my grandmother used to say - 'look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves'. The parallel in health is to look after the smaller health problems to reduce the likelihood of bigger and more serious health problems in the future.

I work in internal medicine in the US. I close my eyes and you sound EXACTLY like a nephrologist consultant I work with and it’s not just the accent. I believe he went to Cambridge and Oxford.

Thanks for your comment! The way that we speak professionally must be influenced by the people who trained us, and our peers. I trained in Oxford so maybe that’s why your nephrologist and I sound similar. Anyway thanks for watching my video!

Hi Jeremy, very interesting, these are things you wouldn't normally think about.

Thanks for commenting Tim. It's going to become increasingly obvious in the next few years that delays in getting access to healthcare will have serious consequences.

Have a look at the NHS e-referral system Lee. Here's the link www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/hospitals/book-an-appointment/
The NHS is obliged to present people with a list of providers who offer treatment, including private hospitals. The Government's plans to deal with the waiting list backlog will mean that there will be a lot more referrals into the private sector, paid for by the NHS. Thanks as always for your unwavering support Lee. It is greatly appreciated. If yo need advice, give the office a call and we can have a chat.
