I always make an effort to try and thank the pilots if I can whenever I get off the plane at the end of a safe flight. So many people get on and off planes every day and never seem to care or think about the fact their lives are literally in the hands of these awesome pilots. These machines are miracles of modern science. Thank you for keeping everyone safe on these flights!

Frequent flyer here. Its crazy because it feels like you’re going so much faster when you are a passenger experiencing a standard 747 landing. You look out the window and hope to God that the brakes and hydraulics bring the plane to a stop before it reaches the end of the runway, every time. This video makes it look as if they only reached a speed of 20 knots on the landing/runway. So impressive!!!
Hello Captain Boeing. I've been a long haul trucker for 40 years . Have always been mesmerized with piloting and especially 747. Such a piece of art and tech combined. Love your vids and the mastery you show is exquisite. Thanks and safe travels always to you
Very smooth landing. What a view they have. I remember flying into Las Vegas one April and one of the pilots coming on the PA and saying we were 90 miles out and they had the active in sight. Perfect clear weather and eye sight.
This is the gentle giant. Much easier to get good landings than the MD-11 I used to fly. However, airspeed control is critical, especially below 100 feet to prevent hard landings. Been flying 747-400 since 1999. Atlas Air Captain/checkairman
Nice landing. As a Texan, I can tell you a little bit of history of what is now Bush Intercontinental. Back in the day when the airport was proposed, it was going to be named 'Jetero'. Don't ask me who came up with that moniker. Post construction, it was Houston Intercontinental. In the 60's I had occasion to visit the newly opened airport. There was nothing but cow pasture surrounding it. Fast forward a few years and on another airport visit, it was surrounded by shopping centers, businesses, and homes. The folks began to complain of jet noise, so noise abatement was instituted. Strange that folks move in around a busy airport and then complain of the jet noise. lol.
We have the same type of idiots here in vegas always wanting them 2 change were or when the plane's land also around the airports in socal i don't understand.it eather especially when the airports were there first.🤔
The name "Jet Era" was applied to one of the access roads from a freeway into the airport. Unfortunately there was a typo on the signage , renaming the road jetero.
I live in Fall Creek literally 5 minutes from the airport. I enjoy watching all the United jets fly over my house. The noise has never been an issue for me.
God how annoying would that be to fly with a captain thats too nervous to take his hands off the controls and follows along with you the entire time. That would get old real quick
I used to work at KIAH as a tower and approach controller many years ago , before 8L even existed and miss that view from my many jumpseat rides. Your FO, nailed it like a rat pissing on a cotton ball : barely heard the mains trucks on. Awesome as per the usual.
Captain I've noticed you always seem to fly with very fine competent First Officers who do their job well. I've also noticed how you always seem to be monitoring everything and everyone very closely and I like that about you. You are always staying on top of thing's. I've seen other videos and film where the Captain wasn't as attentive as you are to what was happening and this is when something can go wrong and sometimes unfortunately does and with all your vast experience you still take nothing for granted and you still see the vital importance of checklists as well. These things make you an outstanding Captain in my opinion. My compliments to you Captain on a job always well done.
I’m scared to death of flying but I love watching these videos … the skill of the pilots and the incredible engineering that goes into a flying object of this size.
Love this, lost count of how many times I’ve flown into Houston at both airports. Sometimes it’s tricky because we have unusual weather here in Southeast Texas. Love my pilots!!!!

Oh man Captain Boeing, I am taking a trip soon, I wish you were the pilot. You are cautious and thorough. I respect what you do, it takes balls of steel to be a pilot
Nice video. Nice landing. Just love the 747--best commercial plane ever made. When I saw the title and started to watch the video, I thought for sure they would land on runway 26 or 27, but they landed on a shorter runway that is typically reserved for heavier traffic times. It's the 5th and northernmost runway at IAH. Taxiing off the runway put them closer to the cargo terminals. Great job by the crew.
These big birds are gorgeous. Just think about it for a moment. A heavy machine of hundreds of tonnes fly through the air and carries thousands of people from one continent to another. Mind blowing...

Perfectly functioning team work. Capt on top of everything like you say - see how he checks on the speed brake lever after FO sets.
