This video shows the importance of checklists. 12:00 the Pilot thought he had armed the speed break, and he HAD NOT. The CoPilot corrected him while doing the final checklist. A very good landing by the Captain and excellent assistance from his 1st officer.
Good catch! Captain calls "Speedbrake armed." F/O replies "Noch nicht" which is German for "Not yet". Captain doesn't even flinch. Just gets it done. Excellent crew coordination.
You can tell from the Captain's reply that he knows the Speedbrake is not yet armed. The reason it is not armed until the last minute...is that it is used in flight to control the rate of descent. Cheers!
I laffed so hard, I fell out of my chair. "was chocolate spice that's slice give up visits a week hello after say a bitch" "once the salsa American 1469 can Ziegfeld counterparts are getting more" Then they haven't even landed yet and get "Wind from the front. Turns around" ROFL
It never ceases to amaze me how well organised almost every aspect of commercial aviation is. So many flights, so many passengers, so few incidents. Undeniable progress despite the anchor of cultural tradition and blind faith.
This is probably one of the better cockpit landing videos. I love how structured it is. It presents the landing process in a very organized way so that even a newbie can understand. I love how the pilot flips the lever for the flaps and the camera cuts to the flaps on the outside. Gives a pretty good picture of the action, and the results. Well Done!!!
They've gone through all these procedures hundreds of times yet are still totally enthusiastic for the minutia. These are a couple guys who love their jobs.
Vielen Dank, Dav Can!!!
This amazed me in how well I understood it. When I was a young child almost 60 years ago I had older relatives that still spoke German and I was very surprised how well I still understood it! I don't really speak much German at all, but apparently I still understand quite a bit. I may be old, but the brain still remembers stuff I have not used for decades. Thanks for the flight too- vielen danke!
Airline pilots have the world's GREATEST job. To be a pilot would be better than being a rockstar or presnit of the untied states! You gentlemen have my deepest respect and admiration...
Best arrival video I've seen. The Captain is very hospitable and very professional. I'D markers were most helpful identifying landmarks. Thank you for 19 minutes of relaxing therapy.
Always a pleasure to listen to the Captain/ Co-pilot and ATC. Clear speech ,Not like other airlines that either mumble or speak to themselves. Well done LH
That was really cool!!! Great video. Zehr gut!! Thanks for a great perspective and some beautiful views!! Love the shots of the Captain and the view in front upon landing. Thanks for the great work!!
That was fantastic. I only wish that this second half had subtitles like the first half. I wanted to understand the flight charts that they were showing.
One of the best (pilot's eye) instructional , visual , step by step approach to LAX. Excellent pilot/ co-pilot cummunication. I know very little German (high school), but could understand most of what they said.
That camera angle makes it look like they're heading straight for the ground!! This was a real exciting landing video. And the cockpit looks exactly like the 747 cockpit in flight simulator! Great smooth job. I wish I could fly one.
Great professional job flying this aircraft. I do not speak German, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. Thank you for your experience and excellent service. Good luck men!❤️🍀🙏🏻🛬
As always, I'm just amazed at the pilots. They all have the same, calm demeanor to them plus they ALL have to learn English which is the international language of flight. Some of them don't even start learning it until their late 20's..some are later than that. Hats off !
Thanks for posting this video. It's amazing!!! I can see & hear everything now without ever getting off my couch. No more fighting traffic & waiting in line at the airport for me!!! Thank you Jesus!!!
Nice video. I'd driven the root from Las Vegas to LAX a few years ago. The Chart is clear for see the horizontal and vertical profile of the RIVVR Arrival.
Fantastic video. I have actually landed at LAX in a 747 (Air New Zealand one though, and as a passenger). I almost landed a virtual 747 at LAX once (in Prepar3D V3), but the simulator suffered an OOM when I was on final approach (I think it was to 25L too). I loved how one of the controllers said "Tschüß" - very nice touch. The subtitles seemed to be on drugs though!
The view of the sprawl that is LA is spectacular. Having said that, what little German I learned while stationed in Bremerhaven from 1963-66 was of no use here.
This was great! Please, if you will, put in English sub titles so I can follow the Pilots' conversation and description. Thank you far a great video (even if its in German and I can't understand... lol)
It’s a great to hear in German but also please to watch English Sub title is an wonderful idea to show us what is going on everything in Where Pilots are busy working bring down the plane to LAX airport. Wonderful thing to watch!!!!! Love
I don't want to be a pilot in future, but i am watching these videos as its so fascinating to see how they are able to fly any kinds of planes in the air, not just that but its interesting to see how they control these planes so carefully whilst in air. Its thrilling to see how they know about how to use these buttons and levers when flying from one place to another. But these pilots are heroes, I don't know how to ride a bike professionally but they know how to professionally fly such a large vehicle in the air whilst transporting passengers from one place to another and this is a huge job because riding passengers on a bike or riding on any other vehicle is hard but these pilots know how to transport them carefully and safely. This is insane and I grant them a lot of respect for doing such a huge, responsibility-taking job. I wish them all the best in future.
Great piloting skills and excellent video mixing especially on the final approach with a clear view of the runway mixed with the captain at the controls on the left. Kudos ! btw: the RUclips translation was hilarious at times !

What an extraordinary ability to be able to fly these huge birds...much respect to all pilots globally and may you all keep safe.👍
I remember my last comm air flight from LAX to MEL and I had a whole row of 747-400 seats to myself the whole trip. I loved that flight!
