- ORD-AMS. Wintry Sunday afternoon at O'hare. Lots of snow around. Made for an exciting day to fly with lots of sliding around on the taxiway. I appreciate that at O'hare, they de-ice planes at the gate; a lot more efficient.

Anyone else love the sound of a jet engine during take off?
Miss Kendi RR engine ?
Nothing better !!
@ghostt girl ghostt girl that's sad.
Absolutely. And there is a huge auditory difference between the long haul wide bodies and the skinny commuter jets. More of a buzzing than a growl.
xa xa xa xa xa..😁😁MEEEE
I love winter departures. No matter, how bad it is on the ground. Nothing beats the beauty of a winter sunset departure.
I experinced it
@@shildebrandt13 most definitely
No matter how crappy things are at ground level, it's always a beautiful sunny day above the clouds... being able to travel above the clouds as fast as a bullet has got to be one of man's greatest achievements.
That’s true…it’s always getting above the clouds. Once you pass thru then it’s smooth sailing. I was worried at first but ever is set. Engines sound a lil choppy thou.
This video reminded me on the feelings during takeoff. You are at the runway, the engines increase the power slightly but you think it's their maximum, the plane starts to roll, but then they get full power so that you're pressed into your seat and you have some kind of shivers because you feel this power. Love it!
They do that to make sure all engines are spooling up normally before full power is added
You need to go to NHRA OOOOH MY nothing like it 11,000 hp three seconds 330mph lovin life!
Crazy that that’s actually me deicing in the spray cab! Glade to see so many interest in aviation! It’s such an amazing experience! I love it!
Hey Justin. Great job. What do you do in the summer? LOL
Just recently flew on two 777-300ER to Asia and back, man hearing those GE-115B 's take off, puts you in a different place Wow.
what was that green thing you sprayed on the wing?
Work on the ramp during the summer and deice during the winter..also the green is a ant-icing fluid that prevents contamination from adhering to the aircraft for a period of time to allow them to take off
Haha the world just literally interconnects HAHAHA noice job
I worked in the aviation industry for 15 years. I can still hear the loud engines of the 747-400’s 😍
Just loves hearing the take off. Haven’t been flying since the COVID-19 started. Miss flying so much. Can’t wait till all this over.
Worked for the old Northwest Airlines, flew several times on KLM 747s.... Awesome Every Time!
Wow…those engines sounds like they’re under pressure. These pilots are brave to take off after a snow storm.
i know 1 dam thang u would never and i mean never catch Mr. C.P.3 up in no dam plane like that nope hell naw ain’t got no bidnezz being dat far up in the dam air unless it’s a bird
Great video, thank you for Not adding irrelevant background music!!
I like it better without music too.
Lol this is a good comment
Peter Jones I totally agree!……how irritating is all that shit??!?!
Every other comment would be - "What's the song at..." - So tired of that crap.
@@robertonascimentoqueiroz5449 Now that really makes a lot of sense ....
Everything I want to see in a video. Heavy jet taking off in the snow. The perfect blue light of winter. And all this at 60fps. Bravo!
Thanks! Was a fun day for sure!
good comment ;)
Wonder what camera he used
And a A346 on sight for a few seconds :)
And that green wing treatment was just deicing on the cake!
It is incredible how strong those wings are...simply incredible!
They’re built to be able to bend without breaking else even the slightest bit of turbulence would cause the wings to snap
I loved flying in weather. It’s always fun to break out on top and see the sun, or stars.
I love flying. This video was so good I can almost feel the take off.
I love aircrafts. I don't know why but watching them makes me always thrilled.
Leaving ground puts you in an all together other world.
Same here. I should purse my career in aerospace.
7:45 just can't get enough of that. I would fly just to hear this!!
Tonda Šálek right on! Though it makes my stomach flip just hearing that sound.
The sound of POWER...😉
@@briangarrett9820 Near enough 100,000 BHP :D
It’s a nice sound
Amazing what man has accomplished in the last hundred years.
It still amazes me how those wings can hold up the entire weight of the plane, and how those engines, with that much power, are not ripped off; no matter how many bolts are attached to them.
I am also with you, I always think the same way. Its amazing
Two-million parts, flying in unison.
Engineering.
1 bolt holds it,,,that's it. A took care of a man who was a captain pilot he told me
@@Lisa-hn3hz It's more complicated than that and there are defenitly more bolts in use on the 747. As we can tell from the crash-investigtion where they broke off (ELAL 1862 Amsterdam 1992). But you are right there are only a few bolts for a lot of power and weight and they set you back more then $ 1000,- each.
Listen to the engines sing when the Captain pushes the throttles forward. As long as I live, I will never forget flying on a 747 from the US to Tokyo. Great sights and sounds on this video.
They use only 80 percent of engine power when they take off
same here from tokyo to paris, but it was a 777, and it was unforgettable because half way through the flight all the in flight screens and cabin lights suddenly shut off and there was a thick smell of smoke, crew rushing up and down, many people including myself thought the worst, but things came back to normal after a few minutes.
Im from Braziliam esse é um grande aviões
Always amazes me how these big lumps of metal are able to stay in the air!
Always amazes me too.
Bernoulli teory easy
With enough thrust, anything can fly.
Powerful engines
I’ve flown into and out of O’Hare in weather like that, they do a great job there. One time en route to Phoenix, the pilot said of O’Hare, “If this was any place else we might not have left.”
Wow, it's like a winter wonderland !
Awe inspiring, beautiful weather. The way the wings and engines wiggle and flex makes my heart go thump!
Beautiful video - the golden hour during snow - remarkable colors - and smooth camerawork. TOP!
It's an amazing feat of engineering. To convert cold air like that into hot 🔥 propulsive jet heat is awesome then to lift the plane considering these weather conditions makes it even more impressive.
@Ralph Reilly what's so funny?
@Ralph Reilly Cretin.
I kept marveling at the clarity of your picture. At one point, I could even see the swirls of air made by the engines. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed the shot of the A340, my favorite Airliner. Gorgeous looking plane. I grew up with B707
This has been my favourite childhood video in 2016!!!
Many thanks for the support!
Thaat's Ohare in the cold, freakin snowy winter! Makes me shiver just watching this!
Shit me to
I work at ORD, after all these years I'm still in awe watching these planes fly.....
I’ve been traveling this same flight and dreaming to travel again..
Stay safe world..
Traveling is a dream..
You are beautiful
Simply superb..reminds me of the time...I literally took the same flight..under the same conditions..from Chicago to Amsterdam..only at that time there wasn't a snow " storm' but heavy snow.. ( fall).. so exactly what you showed..de- iceing etc took place..felt I was taking the flight again!!! Fantastic!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
KLM has one of the smoothest take off !!!
The view right after takeoff is awesome. White snow covering everything with all the bright lights. Awesome!
I love how the 747 takes off at 7:47 what a coincidence 😂😂😂
Shoaib Khan تعال علمني وش يضحك ابي اضحك مثلك
Hola îsiwir la la.
It doesnt take of at 7:47
Pakistani Reacts wowowow chill out wtf wrong with u
@Pakistani Reacts You have serious brain issues. Really dude. Chill out, don't be mean to others for no reason...it gets you nowhere in life.
The magic never goes away, not for me at least. Wonderful stuff made more glorious by the winter snow and hazy light.
every so often i have to check this video out ! it stays nice a TAKE OFF in snowy weather ! ! LOVE IT ! ! !
Excellent takeoff of the Mighty Boeing 747-400 after a snowstorm.
I don't know why I find this video so soothing.
Какие же вы красивые, самолеты и и все кто причастен. Дай Бог вам всего хорошего.
Love the way it turns snow on the ground into little vortices 😍
This is just the definition of GORGEOUS. Beauty in every frame of this video.
I enjoy the howling sound when all 4 jets ramp up to max power and aircraft begins to accelerate, never gets old!!!
Great video! Love that feeling of anticipation as a plane turns on to the runway. Engines sound phenomenal.
Lovely view of the Aer Lingus A330 - I've flown that bird many times.
This was so beautiful to watch. I'm absolutely petrified to fly- developed a massive fear of it in my 20's (was totally fine before that) and haven't been on a plane in over over 15 years but I love watching these videos. Praying one day I will be able to fly again.🙏 I hope so.
Thanks for your comment!
Hope you do. Keep in mind these are reliable machines in professional hands. Surrender yourself to that.
Always know ur in more danger while driving a car
Same thing happened to me...but I have to sometimes for work...The more I learn about it, the less I fear...maybe buy a flight sim and practice....I think the fear is loss of control
I was fine till i had a flight with high turbulence
Now my doc have given me anxiety pills they help a bit
One of the best footage i've seen of a dusk departure, snow on the ground just illuminates everything ! Check out the engines sucking up the snow on the ground and dancing as they go through dirty air on take-off ! Awsome !!
That's incredible. Flying during snow storm
the old girl smashes through it, such a reliable aircraft.
Excellent camerawork-cimematic!..and yes, real sounds, not a soundtrack.
Pilots should be rewarded to have a smooth landing!
Love this. The title SAYS take off. And that's exactly what we got, he got us through the muck and into the ding. Good night.
I feel the KLM 744 is as iconic as Pan Am's. Princess Juliana if nothing else. We don't have much time left with our remaining queens. There's something very special about THESE engines, I know we all agree.
thanks for posting this. A miracle of modern engineering. Those wings sure were bouncing around.
Beautiful footage. Love the time of day, snow and view of massive O'hare. Hope it was a pleasant flight and thanks for sharing...
I live near an air force base, love watching them doing maneuvers, likec the sound..
I ♥ this video. I watch this video everyday.
Yes!!! I watch this often because I love the sound of the engines 🤩
Dude I wanna be there. And that zoom in on the A340? Epic and I love it!
I've never seen a video where you can see so clearly the wing starting to generate lift on rotation. Incredible.
Have u ever been in a plane
@@alexredeemed y r u asking have u never been?
@@alexredeemed exactly.. the wing doesn't generate the lift, the airflow does, not to mention the fact that this is how exactly every flight achieves lift off....
Great video, free of commentary and music. That magnificent engine sound is all the soundtrack you need. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for your support and feedback. I'll keep the natural audio coming.
I miss seeing the distinct blue KLM 747 coming into O’Hare every day. I would sit on the west side of the airport and try and see it far out over the lake coming in east to west. I think KLM is now going with a Boeing 787, which is not a bad looking bird either.
I think by showing these sort of footage you would help people to manage their fear of flights anyway. It did to me . Great thanks
Thanks for your support and glad you enjoyed.
same here. I am nervous during takeoffs and had the same feeling in the pit of my stomach veiwing this while in my sofa😮😊
It's all seems so effortless, but the engines are working like hell to get the plane into the air..........
Darth Belal Hear hearrr, Mr. Darth!!🌟💪💪✈️~ TRULYYY amazing!!
I lived and worked in Budapest and travelled a lot around E.Europe in the 90's inc Moscow and I remember many times flying during the winter in conditions similar to this. The effect the snow has on the light is magical.

@@TheFejfAviation Great job
I have only flown on medium size jets
I was surprised at how long and how high the 747 used the slats/high lift devices.
Looked like 8000 to 10000 ft.
Again thanks for the great video.
@@wms1650 Yeah, those slats were down for longer than I thought they would be. (Obligatory timestamp - 11:14 )
@@wms1650 I think it wasn't until after i got my comm pilot's license, that i first flew a widebody, as passenger. It was a 777 and what surprised me, is that on takeoff the engine sounds softer than on taxi. As for the flaps/slats, i think it's due the weather: pilots made sure that every ice that could have built up on their surfaces in the clouds is sublimated off in the drier air above. Otherwise they only cause unnecessary fuel waste from 1000 or 2000 feet above ground and ought be retracted.
Such an exciting moment being in one of these large aircraft, when they take off, all that weight going up in the air.
I love 4 engine jets... So much confidence while flying
The Airbus A-340 from Iberia is also a sight to see.
Si fue un gran avión pero ya está desfasado
One of the best, and moodiest aviation scenes i've ever seen- really well done!
Thank you!
I flew a KLM 747 back in '87 to Amsterdam. This takes me back. Even though those 747s maybe a bit old, they are still pretty big and stable in turbulence. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for your comment. Crazy to think about the 747 being over 50 years old. Probably was a -200 for you, no?
@@TheFejfAviation It probably was a 200. It was nicer than TWA, and i remember they served Heineken on board. Imported from Holland. You could easily taste the difference.
Have lost count on how many times I’ve watched this splendid video, am still perplexed by the behaviour of the green anti-icing gunk on the wings which doesn’t just run/drip off as the plane taxis to take off , but once the speed picks up to rotate, it then gets blown back in the slipstream.
I can only conclude it must be of some gelatinous consistency to stick while needed but thin enough to not hang on too long.
As an Australian who feels cold at anything below 15c, I cannot fathom how anyone can live and work in North America in winter, Hardy souls indeed.
Thanks for your comment and support. It's a mystery that green stuff. B)
Green magic.
I Love you and I miss you so much Amsterdam!
Great video, loved seeing the engines shaking as it rotated!!! RIP KLM 747 😢
A very well done video. Crews do a great job clearing the runways and an ATC at a busy airport is not for the light hearted.
I do, i love listening to the power of these engines, what a great invention, the plane i never get enough to see them in video from my bed, it s the most fulfilling job of the world ✈️❤️
Wow a combi flight as the years go on i never think i will get one the aspects of it is cool as heck
The 747 KLM blue livery is the most beautiful paint on the most beautiful plane
Beautiful video. Flying absolutely terrifies me. This video gave me anxiety. But I am fascinated by planes. Amazing machines.
Felt very cozy watching this especially with all that snow.
So good seeing an aer Lingus plane there, great video thanks
Un gran vídeo. Gracias por compartir.
89 degrees, and as I watch this, I'm almost shivering!!!
Yea me too romie its 97 here somebody bring me my jacket.
Thank you for sharing ,I feel like I sit right there on that window the whole time
I love that feeling in the airport .. feeling of going out for a vacation. Relax no work 😔
Im gonna be traveling in december, i hope it snows so i feel relaxed in the plane
This was awesome!! Man I love airports and snowy days, so this was so cool to see.
Flying out from Chicago (ORD) on a 747, nice. Chicago is my favorite connecting airport on the continent.
Amazingly powerful to get up in the air with all that weight....smooth but the sound is sweeeet
Beautiful snow and the airport.
amazing the sound of those engines . . . . just absolute perfection
Yes indeed, and the big Rolls Royce engines sound even better than these GE engines when spooled up!!
Returning to a favorite video, with Chicago winter made more bearable by the green of that Aer Lingus: and happy St. Patrick’s Day! (Honorable mention to the green de-icing fluid).
one of the most exciting videos i ever saw on you tube.
Great footage!....the engineering is truly unreal...
Well done and thanks for sharing.
Lovely big bird A340.
Oh boy miss travelling being pushed down to your seat during takeoff love it!!!
Brilliant. Well done - great video. One day this footage will be used to look back at how we used to fly ...
Love it. Absolutely _amazing._
07:45 i love this sound
the ge cf6 sounds the best
Actually, the GE 90 is pretty darn awesome!
I prefer RR engines. They make a very distinctive sound that just eludes quality when I hear them start up. GE is number 2 for me and I do not like the P&W, which I list at number 3.
Yes ! I hope you are having a wonderful day
Geneva Maria yup I do care
Someday i hope to fly one of these beauties hauling cargo. There's just nothing like a Queen.
SNOWBIRD coming through!! Good thing it had the Red tail. It would have gotten lost. Great video. I Love flying!!!
