  • An example of a standard practice routine and warm-up for a rehearsal or gig, divided into two sections: Rudiments and Free play
(an even better practice is playing to a metronome - something I should get better at doing)
The rudiments I play in this video during warm-up are:
    1. Single stroke: RLRL... (hands + feet at the same time)
    2. Double stroke: RRLLRRLL... (hands+feet at the same time), a tricky Lang-inspired exercise that's rather new to me
    3. 3-strokes: RRRLLLRRRLLL...
    4. 4-strokes: RRRRLLLLRRRRLLLL... Mixing the 4-3-2-1-strokes is a Weckl-inspired exercise
    5. Paradiddle: RLRRLRLL...
    6. Paraparadiddle: RLRLRRLRLRLL... (should be practiced leading with both hands)
    7. Paradiddlediddle: RLRRLLRLRRLL... (should be practiced leading with both hands)
After that it's free, improvised play with, without and with double bass drums (on this kit double bass is a separate sound)
Ask drum-related questions in the comments. Keep drumming!
