REALLY good idea Josh!! The Bumpers are a bit ridiculous... but that "Truggy" Cage really brings or all together for a nice, functional look!! 👍👍 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
Its actually an underdrive for the rear vs overdriving the front. Just ordered the kit and cant wait. Found a use for that small battery tray after seeing you put the weaker plastic battery tray mount. Can use that for a small 3s for the lights awesome.
I like to use sticky puddy and stick small tacks to the body posts and I line it up then press down and look for the marks the tacks make and I drill body holes
I'm not a spare tire guy either. I removed the cradle, and cut out the mount for the tire itself. One of my local crawler guys cut out just the center mount portion and used CA to glue a styrene rod in, sanded and painted.
Iv been crawling for a few months I wish I would have been able to get this truck for my first one. Don’t care for the gen 8 steering and I don’t care for how quick rc4wd trailfinder axels wear out. This truck is a god send
Hey! You can cut away that spare tire mount tab and place a piece of styrene tubing and use some star bond adhesive to lock it down, finally paint it black ! To give it a more clean look 👍🏻
I had a chance to drive one of these recently. Associated really did their homework on this truck. The motor esc combo really does create a smooth run. The steering servo seems to have plenty of power and didn't break in the first ten feet. I'm sure I will have one .
Looks awesome with the cage! You could just 3d print a little tool box/hard case for the spare tyre basket and trim off the mounting holes on the cage- 1:1s tend to have a box or two around the cage/bed area.
Harley Designs I bought that Pro-Line set back in 2012. Love it. The 2.0B is ruined, and my 2.5 handle is shot, but I still love the finish on the tools and I refuse to toss them.
You listen to Josh? He didn’t need to upgrade, he had it supplied. Associateds business model revolves around quality and customer satisfaction....... this is not AXIAL....
@@PhiddyPford I think it doesnt matter what brand it is. the cage is a great improvement. I would like to see more inner body bracing for it though.. To prolong the life of that thin lexan. I'm not much for adding on scale details either, but that spare tire mount, might be a good place for a scale radiator. to go along with the pre-runner look.
Print up a tailgate that attaches those floppy back fenders together, that mounts to the back of the cage. Maybe an integrated handle and an italicized Sendéro emblem somewhere on there too. Or even better, an Associendéro emblem 😂
Looks good Josh. Next mod , i'd make velcro body mounts. And take some scale aluminum diamond plate and Shoe-Goo it to the lower door panels. The cracked lexan looks like the cheap stuff that RC4WD use to make their lexan(not hardbody) Mojave bodies....it would crack sitting on the shelf. Would you trust those plastic gears on Brushless power?
I vote for a power shift nitrogen tank mounted in the back along with a Amber/red light bar. The truck is coming out bad ass man. I can’t wait to get my hands on one.
Wow really like what you did with it. I will be getting one of these trucks in the future and I am not a big fan of the body, but with that cage it really changes it up nice. I will have to do something very similar on my channel. Thanks for the great ideas.
Nice job josh, looks good that way. Lookin to build my father in law a truck. Goina go with the 2 piece chevy body n try cuttin out for the cage to go inside the bed.

Cool video man I like the cage looks great I would have left tailgate though. I love the point where you said small victories. Kick ass.! What did you think Harley about the 48p gear if you put brushless motor ? traxxas, Red Cat Gen8 and axial have already 32p gear much better for brushless :)
I was thinking of buying a builders kit, what would you recommend, the only thing is I hate redcat so that’s already out of the question 😂 but i figured I’d ask you since I feel like you have the most education on crawlers and there capabilities, I already have an RTR scx10 ii trail honcho and did literally every modification you did in the honcho build series and it’s just a complete beast😈 I thank you for that!🤙🏽 but yeah sorry for the long message lmk what you think I should do Mahalos brother 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Loved the look of that card in the back. When I saw it had a 2 piece body, that was my idea. Looks great
It’s like a early teaser of the VS4-10 Phoenix Portal!
the cage looks sweet on this, mirrors, new grill, door handles, will liven this truck up.

Nice video!! But complete if upgrade parts link will be in the video description, thanks👍🏻
You should use a round tube for the front bumper to keep with the pre-runner look. Those mods changed the entire look of the truck!
Yes I have the front tubular bumper already, just have to wait a little longer.
Great video. I can’t wait to get my hands on an Enduro but I’ll probably wait to get the kit version when it comes out.

Sweet work Josh. I love the look of the truck now ... well, except for that stock front bumper, yeesh!
I had the same Pro-Line ball end laying around to get to those screws.
It's the only 2.5B I still have around. That thing has to be close to 10 years old!

Put some conformal coating on circuit board of receiver ,no receiver box needed👍
Ya gotta wonder how much more the better plastic costs to use over whatever they used for the released version

I really loved that servo controller you used to set up the steering. What is the make and model would love to check it out. Thanks!
By the way, the truck turned out really cool good Job.
Really thinking of picking one of these up.

How does this truck drive the way you have it set up now after the upgrades compared to the TRX4 sport kit you upgraded with Matt?
when you first got your rig did it already come with front headlights installed ?
Looks good for a pick-up truck
