Caleb Kope's truck is a Class 1 rig. The body is a hardbody and dimensionally speaking , it's a true 1/10th scale rig....I've measured that body and have four of them. They are the same size as a Clodbuster and made in the 70's. The XOR's are the small 3.8 tires.
Yeah the general Lee is a class 1 aswell as been built as a rental for the past 2 years at nats. Many people have driven this rig into the top ten in the past 2 years. Thanks for the video buddy look forward to seeing ya soon
Awesome video!! I can’t wait to see you and all these trucks at the nationals. I’m also ready to kick some butts!! Haha I wish 😂 keep this nationals video coming!!
Thanks for this one! I have read the SORCCA rules but a visual of them makes things much more clear. I have not competed yet but am hoping to do a few this year. Starting in C1. Thanks!
I know Tim Samuals and he is an amazing builder and driver! If you ever get a chance to see any of his builds up close look well, because I would see something new every time that I didn't see before.
Awesome video, always like to hear some more inside information about the scene. Also have not found much info about what is sporty lean chassis, chassis vertical rise, can leaf sprung trucks use internal shock springs etc.
This was a good episode, I only see a couple local rigs and I have no clue how they build them so it is good to hear a little about what is happening on the inside.
Great video explaining some of the differences in class rigs. I have to say, after seeing some of these wild class 2 rigs that my poor Ascender K10 won't stack up, and it definitely looks no good for class 1 either 🤦♂️ Keep up the great work!
That's one of the issues, these are getting to the point where the average guy can't compete anymore. It's taking all the fun out of being able to compete. Love the scale looks, but, not the attitudes.
Love the trucks bro, im just finishing up my VFD Capra build. Would love you opinion on it once its done, should be Saturday. You have mentioned a VFD Capra before but wanted to make sure i beat you to it...
Pretty sure you've thought about this or someone else has mentioned it, but what about your ripper on vs4-10 ultra axles for scale points and performance as well, just a thought
Lovin it. I’m pretty casual a better time for myself would be to just trail run with a group or event get together and not to actually compete w strict rules.
So is MOA comp crawling dead in the USA? I’ve been out of the hobby for 5 or 6 years and just got re-interested, and ordered a pair of Team Pullers and a BR Mini Dual from Holmes to finally finish my Bully II I started back then .. but surfing around RUclips it seems only some of the Europeans are still comp crawling, so am I just wasting my time? Very cool video btw .. thanks 👍
This was for the older rules where you needed 50% tire coverage (and you could use fender flares if you wanted). However a short course body is way too big for a class 1 truck. While it would be legal, it wouldn’t be a good choice.
How is it people don't know about using different colored lights? it makes the shadows of even tiny pebbles/ruts/washboard jump out like they are in a 3d movie, because of the two different angles of different colored light.
Depends on how you're trying to define it. They are all based on typical "1:10" scale vehicles however if you actually measured and scaled them to their original bodies then you'd get all kinds of different results.
@@HarleyDesignsInc what would I use if I wanted the same offset as the stock rims that come with the kit, got the 475 slw for them but wasn't sure if those do it, haven't got the kit together yet
Very nice progress Josh! C3 is looking awesome. 😎 DO THE PACER! 😜😂 GOTTA take a moment to say *GO CHIEFS!!!!* 👌👋👋👋👋👋😎 Your Offense had a WEAK start - but REALLY pulled it off in the end. Most exciting Superbowl I've seen in years. Both sides had great D, but you guys got it!! Carmine ✈🚂🚙
@@birkenstockresouler no it wasn't "a thing". It was really rare. Furthermore, it being a "thing" wouldn't make it a daily driver type vehicle. Putting a car body onto a 4x4 truck chassis would be considered "heavy modification".
IF YOU WANT PERFORMANCE, JUST ADJUST THE POSITION OF SHOCKS, GOOD TYRES, HEAVY RIMS. DONT WORRY ABOUT POWER, EVEN 20BUCKS TAMIYA WHITE STOCK MOTOR CAN WIN
kobe bryant many top tier drivers can win with lesser rigs. However, high quality ESC’s, motors, servos, tires, shocks, chassis setup, etc. can all play highly into a much more competitive rig. You won’t see lightly modified trucks at the top of a podium at a national event like this.
@@HarleyDesignsInc that's what I'm talking about man not saying anything about you just c1 the rules should be in forced not these little hack's getting by.. jmo we can't control what tec is doing the inspection so that's unfortunate, c1 is supposed to be full scale would see a truck with stupid bent out fenders on the roads? Or the in scale bar work. But hey that's the direction they want it to go then c1 might as well be c2 . You know what I mean?
Maybe I'll remain quirky and not vent my tires for C3.
Scale Builder's Guild dew it! No vents FTW.
Look mom im on the youtube!
My bronco is on vs410 d44's with ssd trans scx10 chassis currently sitting at 48 pts.

Wiener Mobile is a class 3 truck. Thank you for the shout out bud!👍
Mad props Josh! Thanks for the shout out and coverage of Scale Nationals.
When that Pacer popped up, really took me back, one of my moms favorite cars was a 78 pacer, it was red with sport rims.

3:18 "A tiny sombrero on the dash" . its the general lee. Im sure a cowboy hat would be more likely.
Nicely done. Thanks for sharing the little Pacer I'm building. It is SCX10 ii based sitting on a modified Northwest Scaler Designs chassis.
that pacer is awesome.

I met a teacher in YUMA Ariz. who had a pacer on a jeep cj chassis

Damn General Lee is sick! Axial needs to release the trail ranger body again.
Larry Morris is a fantastic driver, I comp with him all the time. It would definitely be nice to see the Trophy brought back to Alabama.
Wow some beautiful rigs for sure !! Appreciate you sharing Josh. I have wondered what was the difference in the different classes.

Fun to see all the different trucks(cars). Thinking about a TF2 build for shits and giggles. I've never competed and not sure if I will.

Damn, that Proline flannel is awesome! That green, Sasquatch Power Wagon is sick! I'd love to know more about it if the owner is reading this.
It’s so Awesome to see RCEC on a class 1 comp rig 💪🏻
Very cool trucks

1977 Buick Regal

would a standard redcat gen7pro be able to go in class1.
Pretty cool!!! Some would call the General Lee a TAR

I wouldn’t say dead, but it’s definitely not nearly as popular as it was pre-2013.
So class one need fender extensions, what about say a traxxas slash short course body then?

So far behind Europe in standard , is that really best of the best of subscribers cars?

What is this Rope for in the Body ?
Are you talking about the winch line possibly?
@@HarleyDesignsInc yes whatbis it good for ?
Oh i guess it saves time
You should do people truck reviews from around the world that we send...
When did sorcca change the rules for class one. I thought it was full leaf or leaf rear 4 link front. No full 4 link rigs?
You must be mistaken, the rules have always allowed 4 link rigs.
Must just be those Ontario boys with the leaf rule. I think it was on gcm that I seen them talking about class one rules on links and leafs.
Or is that class 0 now lol.

Does anybody know what size slw hub you need for the aluminum method beedlocks putting them on the vs4 pro

Car body on a 4x4 frame is C1 Daily driver category? Thats why I have no interest in comps...
It was a thing in the 80's/early 90's to do this. I saw a few. One was a Firebird.
@@birkenstockresouler no it wasn't "a thing". It was really rare. Furthermore, it being a "thing" wouldn't make it a daily driver type vehicle. Putting a car body onto a 4x4 truck chassis would be considered "heavy modification".
There is no rule that it has to be a stock looking truck, that’s just a generalization. And even highly modified trucks can be daily drivers.
IF YOU WANT PERFORMANCE, JUST ADJUST THE POSITION OF SHOCKS, GOOD TYRES, HEAVY RIMS. DONT WORRY ABOUT POWER, EVEN 20BUCKS TAMIYA WHITE STOCK MOTOR CAN WIN

Questions:
Class 3 = Are extra points awarded for 4ws or just a performance advantage.
Class 2 = is 4ws legal
No, and no.
No scale points are awarded for 4ws.
4ws and dig are not allowed in c2.
@@bingsunbren that's not entirely true. Rear CMS points are only available in Class 3 Rear -2 Scale Points
