the first crawler was a Tamiya high lift, drove a trx4 once, bought one a week later, been driving it for almost 2years now, enjoy trail crawling but find class 1 more challenging. Thats why now I've decided on a trx4 chassis, portal deletes, custom split spring/dampener suspension, full hardbody+interior. Love the rc realism scale gives you!
I'm so glad that a major RC event is coming to my neck of the woods. We have so many great places for crawling near Vegas. There's Red Rock canyon, Valley of Fire and we're not that far from Utah.
Great point!! I needed that reminder, your build in the in end is something that you like and want to keep driving after the event.that helps me a lot.l need to always keep that in mind. Thanks and Happy New year every one..
Building something completely purpose driven is always an option but I find that I rarely plan on using them again in that case. Because next year will be something completely different so I’d have to start over. That’s just not what I want.
Really excited for this series of builds, especially with both you and Matt producing build footage of all the vehicles, i have builds waiting as I am sure most others do so very keen to see what you and Matt build.
I seriously can not believe you and Matt are coming to the next nationals. I got the ticket for c1 and c2. Can’t wait to compete with you guys. It’s gonna be wild!! Heck I’m gonna play c3 just to stay one more day. Good luck with your builds
You're right about 74 days isn't enough to build three trucks. I was thinking the same thing. As a working dad and husband slave guy, it's tough to get the hours you need.
Ok I can appreciate your craftsmanship and being able to do the work that you do on these vehicles and goes againstgold circle rules for me I'll be there competing in class one but I'll have a full-sized 85 4Runner.
Sorry for being late. Had house heater problems so we have been at the in-laws with bad internet. I got C1 but missed the C2. Not much to work on without the body. It’s a state away getting some work done. I’m already stressing out! It will be nice to meet you and see you out there. ✌🏼from NM.
Let the games begin. For class 2 what about your blue jeep with the builders chassis and just put the new capera portals under it ?? Looking forward to the builds.
I am really excited to see this build series and to get to meet you and that funny Canadian guy at nats this year. I did what you are doing now last year and tried to build 3 trucks in about 4 months. It is definitely a challenge and i know the struggle is real. best of luck to you and i cant wait to see what you come up with
Lmfao!. I laughed so hard. " there is a pile of parts which I'm not excited to paint at all" yep.. agreed that's why now.. I just popped mine on a tf2 marlin edition and moved onto other rigs. Lol. I'm excited to see this build though. Dont stress dude! You got this
74 days for three trucks...no sweat! Ha! I'm most anxious to see the class 3 with the VFD transmission and the new Capra axles. Oh and I despise painting as well.
In my opinon would be awesome if you do your C3 truck using your old moonbuggy templates , never saw It finished , now a close friend is building one with your desings.
I plan on using one of these bodies for a scale build I'm gonna use tube doors they would look great on your build you should look into them there on the rc4wd site
You want ideas? It'll never happen, but I'd like to see you go completely goofy with the class 3. Get a completely stock RTR Cappra. Stock electronics, stock tires, change nothing. Then bolt on as much scale off the shelf do-dads as you can reasonably fit on to it and see just how well you can do with it. I mean come on, you got two other classes to be super serious with. Have some silly fun with the third.
I haven't been to Bend before. I usually prefer to travel for large events rather than club outings. Unless I am in the area then it is fun to hit the club get togethers.
Ship your body to hemistorm and he can bust out something nice for ya, ha. Just dont let it look new, nothing worse than a pristine body on a crawler, my pet peeve, ha. Have fun with it bud look forward to seeing all 3 builds. Maybe something not super predictable like you usually do?
Nice so do you guys have a bundle pack? And one more thing too lolol sorry...what is a good tire for rocks and maybe some mud..and do you sell them too..
I'm interesting to see how you're gonna make the interior cabling, since I'm doing the same build with my vs4-10 pro and 4runner body, I had to use two 2s lipos in serial so that they fit for a 4s lipo, on each side, and also for the dig servo I had to buy a low profile servo, since the normal size wouldn't fit with this body. I still need to trim the body on the transmission area, so that all the wires fit, good, because I installed the Mamba X on the front next to the steering servo, and the wires to pass and the body to fit nice and low I need to trim a little bit more, I didn't make the cut like you did, I made some holes until it fit nicely, I'm thinking on using some type of carpet fabric to cover the holes and it looks nice so we don't se the holes. Hopefully my Dremel will be fixed today so that I can finish the build. Curious to see how you'll do it. Good luck with all these build in 74 days :) and good luck on the scale nationals.
Sounds like a cool build man. Im building a vs410 chassis with vfd trans and trx4 axles. Hope it performs better than my trx4 does now. I wish i had the coin to just buy a vs410 pro kit but 8 hundo a lil much
Rodrigo Rodrigues you guys are awesome, we make it work what what we can and I love seeing what people come up with that don’t have a lot of money cause it’s usually more interesting then a RTR or kit.
Something I've been wondering about and haven't found an answer to; what is Ackermann value on the d44 axle? Positive, zerroed or even negative like the old scx10?
and one more thing I thought class one was full leaf spring or you had to have at least two leaf spring in the rear or the front of the my vehicle will be leaf spring all the way
You don’t have to use leaf springs at all. Leaf springs are awarded scale points but I am going to try and stay more competitive so I don’t want to use them.
@@HarleyDesignsInc you see that is what the problem is in my opinion everyone is trim here and there and I feel it's getting away from what it should be the rules should be in forced to a higher standard a 4 link truck should not be allowed to compete in class 1 it is supposed to be a truck with minimal Fab chassis and suspension includedplay I guess if they allow it and it's their rules right but I feel like they've been pressured over the years to allow for Linc systems into class 1 which doesn't really make it that competitive even if you do have a hardbody you have a 4-link truck it's going to perform clearly a lot better than a leaf spring truck and classes her own class one should be four leaf spring trucks hardbodies only class 2 and 3 should be full suspension and so on and so forth but hey if they're allowing it is there rules I'll be running a full leaf sprung truck I still be highly competitive. Thank you for the response.
I’d love to get out to that part of the country to crawl. It’s usually just about the travel costs! I can drive to Vegas is 7 hours. To fly out to NE would cost me $5-600 plus rental cars and such.

Cheers mate👍

Awesome job bobbing that body Josh. Cant wait to see it finished. Cool build. 2020s gonna be awesome !!!!!

It’s going to be a mad rush and of course corners will be have to be cut. I really just need to make some decisions on what I’m going to build 😂
It'll be fun no matter what.

I’m looking forward to hanging out with everyone! Going to be some serious fun!
Sorrca Comp Mayhem Series! Awesome!
Basically it!
Hell of a job you've got ahead of you. I'm excited to see what you come up with.
I have been apart of class one and two trucking for along time! Built a sporty class Vanquish build! For next summer 2020!
Let the games begin. For class 2 what about your blue jeep with the builders chassis and just put the new capera portals under it ?? Looking forward to the builds.

Switch out the side screws holding the body in place for set screws for easier Maintenance
See you there!! I got c1&2. Tickets went so fast. Peace from NM

I have a few plans to try and get things done faster but it's still going to take a lot of work to try and get it done in time!
@@HarleyDesignsInc It would take me 74 days to paint three new bodies. Haha. Good luck!
Had to come back and watch this again. Need an update on your trucks. Have to get on Holmes too! Lol
I’ve been slammed with our upcoming release and haven’t got back to work on this yet but time is ticking!!
@@HarleyDesignsInc just mapped it I'm 1900 miles away😒
josh ive learned soo much from you man. thank you
Can’t wait to see the outcome of the 4Runner I’m looking to do the same build,
Have fun get a winch

I'm super stoked building my trucks as well class 1 and 2 Team garage hack Colorado;)
Would be cool to see you vs SBG Budget Build-Off TRX4 in competition.
This is going to be awesome
Lets hope! Lots of work to do and still haven't even decided what 2 of the cars will look like! Yikes!
I plan on using one of these bodies for a scale build I'm gonna use tube doors they would look great on your build you should look into them there on the rc4wd site
Sand and fit the doors to the door jams and leave a little extra room for paint, and paint the doors with the body.

That droop look in the rear is super scale for a 1st Gen 4runner! Lol most of the 1st Gens I see running around have a droopy rear, even mine!
Also, wheres your roll bar?
I’ll fabricate my own rather than use the included plastic one.
Love your drive for new content!
Hay Harley ever been to Bend Oregon my Crawler Club is putting on a crawl February 15th

What would be a good motor and esc with out spending a tone of money
Hobbywing 1080 ESC and a Holmes Crawlmaster Sport. Should be around $60 total.
@@HarleyDesignsInc nice I will order one and on that esc does it have a drag break
Absolutely, it has a lot of great features for the dollar. Go watch my programming video on it in the TRX4 Sport Budget Build.
Nice so do you guys have a bundle pack? And one more thing too lolol sorry...what is a good tire for rocks and maybe some mud..and do you sell them too..
Has anyone got class 1 mod check list to make sure you have all the points In pdf or Docs?
Whatever happened to the Capo Jeep??
Too many issues to even make it fully functional in the end. It's still here but just more of a headache then could be imagined.
Hey what type of drill driver do you use to build your trucks. Where do you get your allen bits for it? Thanks
I use the Dewalt 8v Gyro driver and now I use the Traxxas hex driver tips. They’re fantastic!
@@HarleyDesignsInc ok awesome thank you

Are you can share the file for those sliders? Or is it already out there?
Why not using the Enduro for class 2?
I prefer the VS4 platform.
Have you hosted the file for the sliders yet? I'd like to print them!
I haven’t, I need to modify it still and just haven’t done that! Soon though!
Something I've been wondering about and haven't found an answer to; what is Ackermann value on the d44 axle? Positive, zerroed or even negative like the old scx10?
Zero Ackerman. Just like an SCX-2 AR44 axle.

How are you going to give the rear tyres clearance
It’s not currently sitting on shocks as you see it, so they will get clearance there but I’ll also have to trim most certainly.
How do we go about getting you out crawling with the New England crowd?
I’d love to get out to that part of the country to crawl. It’s usually just about the travel costs! I can drive to Vegas is 7 hours. To fly out to NE would cost me $5-600 plus rental cars and such.
My suggestion... build like the wind!!!
One of your rigs should have a scale Josh driving with a scale Matt riding shotgun
I believe I'd need to commision that work, I don't think I am up to that modeling task.
I'll be there representing Southern NM...
Getting married to my Fianceé in Vegas that weekend too!
What's your thoughts as far as rear suspension?
It’ll be coil over with shock mounts into the cage.
Man that class 1 truck already looks sweet
I volunteer to paint any of you hard bodies exteriors. And some of the detail work also. And I'll even body work them hit me up
You might be only one of three bobbed rc4wd 4runner out there. Noob's, mine and yours.
Do you belong to the Knights of Colombis I see you have kC on your shirt
That shirt is for Kansas City, where I consider home.
class 3, CDI :)
Build a Ford Ranger body. We all know how much you love Rangers.
Hahahah!!! Nice call sir.
Cut those things out of the topper windows
Cut what things?
The center brace in the top, so you have 1 big window instead of 2 small awkward ones
See you've been changing slim body yota up, see now you have laid down shocks now instead of it coming out the bed.
