  • You know me, roller j-cups are a passion of mine. So I was pumped to see a company I've been super impressed with come out with a pair. I put my money where my mouth is and order a pair to compare to the undisputed champ GHOST STRONG 2.0. Let's see how they hold up!

Sorry everyone, slight pricing snafu where my phone was converting to USD already. I made annotations on the screen b/c the overall message of the video remains the same. Didn't mention it in the video but BASEMENT will save you 5% off any roller cup from Irwin. I've asked to not receive any commission if you use the code, just want Irwin to know if I sent you and save you some money.

I'm picking up my Irwin Fitness adjustable bench this week! Garth is a cool guy, was great to work with - very communicative over email and very apologetic about the high cost of freight shipping from Canada to US (bench ships fully assembled). Definitely expect IFS to blow up in popularity - especially once they figure out a way to bring down shipping to the US.

Just received a set of the now Rogue-owned Ghost rollers and they are currently $60 cheaper than the Irwin fitness versions shipped to my home. Or $243 vs $303 as quoted by the Irwin website. This is for the basic black powder coat 5/8" pin version.
They also fit much tighter ( on a 3x3 Rogue rack ) than the example shown here, having to be pushed into place. In addition, they have been updated with a piece of UHMW that covers the top lip and front face of the j-cups.

Hey Brandon. Would be interesting to swap J-Cups with The Kurtlocker so you can test the XII:XI Rollers and he can test the Irwin. Just wondering, does the extra support at the bottom get in the way with positioning safety straps during bench? I guess the Ghost design having a shallow bottom is most friendly in that regard.

It makes centering your bar for the next set so much easier. If you use bars that have knurling on the part that makes contact with the j-cup, there is friction when you try and center the bar, especially with a heavy load and a squat bar. Hope this helps!

I am in the market for a set of roller j cups. Just like you mentioned in the video, I considered Ghost Strong 2.0 the best option. But when I was just about to order them I noticed something on their website. They state that if you want to purchase replacement rollers, you have to have proof of purchase that you bought the j cups from them. This really turned me off. So if you purchased a used pair of Ghost Strong 2.0 J cups and wanted to get new rollers from Ghost Strong, they would not take your $30 and send you replacement composite rollers. Their products overall are already more expensive by far than their made in the USA competitors. It appears to me that they are pricing their products head and shoulders above the rest because they WANT to be the most expensive. There are other small "boutique" manufacturers in North America which have the same costs as them, and produce extremely well made products like them. For a lot less.
Now Ghost Strong can charge whatever they want for their products, it's their business. I just can't support it.

Assuming I'm looking at the correct website the irwin J-cups are $360 lol...
$420 if you want metal rollers for some reason.

    B-roll benching 45 + 35 + 10. Low key trolling. Great stuff.

I thought about putting a 45 on there ,but used the same logic that the anti 35 crowd has, "it was easier to just add a 10lb plate"

I show them at 4:20. I probably have more roller cup videos than anyone on RUclips, operation of them is pretty basic and not different from other cups out there that have a flat roller. I'd rather focus on the important things or things that are different.

I'm wondering out loud if Basement Brandon does third-party R & D for fitness companies. Like was it his original idea to develop Roller J-Cups? HHHHH MMMMMM !!??

And now those Irwins are nearing $400... and stainless still isn't a standard option.

I just went through and got a total price shipped to me at $305 USD. Code Basement also saves some $.
