When I need to adapt true 3x3 attachments to my 2.95"x2.95" titan X3 rack. I just add in 0.05" metal shims behind the uhmw. I have the same 2.0 ghost jcups and they are very tight after shims on my rack.
Glad to see you back doing videos and a shame you’re disappointed. In Rogues defence, they weren’t designed for Rep rack but the fact they don’t fit their own racks is a bit poor.
XII : XI (RIP) version had the option for shims for metric racks (REP, Titan) and that works great. Rogue could easily offer a shim kit (thin piece of metal that is mounted underneath UHMW) as an option for under $10 with purchase. Also they offered red as color option for no upcharge. Very happy with mine.
I actually got thicker UHMW, but it’s proving more challenging than anticipated, due to the hardware being for thinner UHMW. Not giving up though and maybe tape or a UHMW wedge in between the OG, could work.
Marcus you appear to be visibly frustrated with these, and that tells me a lot about these j cups. That is honestly not acceptable for a premium product to fit like that.
I have a Rogue Monster Lite Squat Stand (SML-1). I purchased the Ghost Roller J-Cup 2.0 in Rogue red with the 5/8" stainless steel pin on August 29, 2022 and they arrived on September 24, 2022 (well within the 6-8 week lead time). They fit extremely well with no side to side play. I am more than satisfied with my purchase and would buy again. Thanks for the content and perspective.
Bryce, thanks for watching and sharing that info. It's interesting to hear and makes me wonder if they make the uprights for their squat stands a little thicker than for their power racks. You ended up getting yours a week after mine and ordered 6 weeks after I did, which tells me they did not have them in stock when they told me they did 🙂
Bummer. I have a similar issue with the Rogue monolifts on my REP rack. Just a little too much play for my liking. Although, I can see that it's more of a problem with roller jcups.
I liked my 5/8” Irwin roller J-cups so much, that I bought a 1” version for my new rack. Garth at Irwin Fitness is even adding a little more plastic so it fits snug on my Rep Fitness rack.
Good review Marcus. I have the titan X3 roller j cups for my rogue rack and have been happy with them. The screw in pins they come with lock the cups in great. I was actually eyeing these when I saw them posted. I assumed they would have fit snug on my rogue SML.
Yeah that's a shame it doesn't fit on the rack perfectly. I suppose it's because the Rep racks aren't exactly 3". They are made in China factories that use the metric equivalent of 3".
I ordered GHOST ROLLER J-CUP 2.0 - 5/8" PIN works well on my SML-1 squat stand. But I wanted to ordered spare roller for the cups. I contacted Rogue product support trough email and they told me I need to get a 5/16 Allen key. Well I did have to order one trough Amazon due to the lack of hardware stores around here and it's the wrong size Rogue told me. I email them and still haven't replied. Looks like they have no clue lol. Thanks for your review on this I seen some of your reviews 👍💪. If you can help me. Let me know what proper size key I need thank you.
I looked those in the past. Just thought they had too much slop and spacing between rack and j cups. I like they add UHMW to the front but still love my Beefy Irwin rollers jcups
I'm not fully satisfied with my set either on the PR-5000. I found myself missing my old Titan set that I used on my PR-4000, so much so that I might even order a 1" set lol
One reason why i didn't get it was because of how it moved it just felt unsafe, even though i knew it was. I got 2 sets of the titan roller jcups for my pr4000 and i love that you can screw them on for a tighter fit and just felt safer to me. Another great review! Any plans on getting new stuff for black friday ?
Hey Marcus, excellent review. I was really set on buying a pair, but I was skeptical. Thanks! Also, do you intend on making any firefighter related content?
Thanks Kadin and glad I could help. I don't like to trash any equipment, but I'm not the first to note this problem and I won't sugar coat something and lead others to buy it. Not specifically.
None of the 3 pairs of other J-cups I have, do that. These are roller J cups - so the bar is supposed to roll along the rollers, instead of the J cups themselves moving.
@@twistedbarbell3950 Idk, I feel like they should just start sticking hitch pins or something through j-cups to keep them from moving in the wrong direction.

Sweet! Maybe I’ll try that
That is commitment, Mid-July to October! I really wish all the manufacturers used the same standardization
What’s the point of an email notification informing you something is “in stock”, only to keep you waiting 2 months to receive it?! Straight nonsense
Yeah, dismal wait times, especially after being notified it’s back in stock and titling the email with “the wait is over”! 🤔

Thanks Andy and agreed

A shim kit sounds perfect. Thankfully, my hack works well and I'll share shortly.
Bummer man. Maybe you can get some uhmw tape and put it in between the back of the cup and the uhmw piece to permanently pad it.

One would think. I had high hopes for these after being on the fence for so long.
I’m sure rep will eventually release their version of jcups and they will be incredible. That’s when I think I’d consider upgrading mine.
That would be something!

A little play for different upright sizes can be expected, but that much is not good
Yep, not satisfied here Carter

Awesome! I may still get them 😮
@@twistedbarbell3950 Let them know you have a Rep rack. Garth will take care of you!
@@markhalstead2386 thanks Mark!
I love your DYI hacks, these companies should hire you as an engineer 😂😂😂
Thanks Bro!
Did you leave a review on Rogues site and notify their customer service?
I have not, but I have resolved the issue and the video gets posted today.
Had the same problem. Sold them within a few months of buying them.
Yep, not surprised!

Yeah, but even the American made Rogue racks have a similar amount of play, so it’s definitely the J-cups fit that’s the issue.
@@twistedbarbell3950 well then definitely looking forward to your DIY hack then!

Size is 5/32”
@@twistedbarbell3950 thanks I'll try to find one next time at a hardware store in town.

Irwin also has a rear pin hole that you can lock in with a hitch pin to keep from moving side to side
The additional UHMW up front was great, but they should have thought about improving fit. A rear mounted hitch pin is another great idea!

I hear ya! I really think the issue could’ve been improved if they had an upper brace like my round sandwich J cups, so that it doesn’t droop.
These a lot of play on a Rep rack not on my Rogue SML 1.
Interesting and thanks for watching.
If you message Rogue they will offer shim kits specifically for this reason.
Thanks, I'll try that.
Bummer. I'm looking into roller j cups, too. Maybe the twisted metal roller monolift since I don't have a monolift neither, but they're expensive.
Go with Irwin Fitness IMO

Wise decision my friend
Looking for a good deal, but not set on anything in particular. Still waiting for my selectorized weight stack replacement for my LLR😁
