hansu IPF approved competition power bar
Sharing my thoughts on the Hansu IPF approved competition power bar in this video. IF you're looking for a comp spec power bar, this is a great option. Not only is this bar IPF approved, but it also has some great specifications and at a decent price point.

Version 2.0 of Bells of Steel's (BOSs) deadlift jack with rollers is a decent offering for a budget price. This deadlift jack is basic, but does a great job of making your deadlift sessions more efficient. This latest version now has rollers to easily center your bar on the jack or platform and is a great upgrade that doesn't affect the price point. Find out if this deadlift jack with rollers i...

Successful home gym entrepreneur: Get to know Darko!
First time seeing one of your vids, as I am in the market for adjustables right now. I think you sold me on these as it ticks almost every box that I have besides going up to 100 lbs for one arm rows. Can you tell me, is it possible to add even more weight on to the end of these dumbells? Like could I add some of the weight plates from the second dumbbell on to the ends of the other and beef it up to 100 if I wanted to? Or would they break?
I bought the pioneer sleeves. Couldn’t get them on. Even with the fold. My calves measure at 19-20 “.
Just got a pair of Inzer Konas and your tip about rolling the top fold over the bottom fold was a game changer. Thanks man!
Awesome!
Excellent job. You answered all the questions I needed that I couldn't find anywhere else. Hope you don't mind if I copy your setup. It will work for me perfectly...I will go with the PR-5000, though. I'll make sure to purchase through your affiliate link. Thanks again!
My pleasure and I’m happy my setup will work for you
@twistedbarbell3950, how is the odor of the rubber plates? I was considering urethane since it shouldn't smell and many people complain about the smell of rubber plates when indoors.
The odor of the rubber plates is noticeable when they arrive, but it dissipates after a few weeks. The Urethane plates have less of an odor and you won't notice it after a week or so.
Thank you. Your equipment reviews are the best I've seen.
@@JohnnyNine thank you Johnny!
If you would lift what you can comfortable than you won't need one..
First, no one needs one. Secondly, it's meant to train the bio mechanics to produce the optimal movement throughout, preventing elbows from flaring and also assisting with bar bath in the process. The fact that it aids those with injuries speaks to it's effectiveness by keeping the bio mechanics working in a way that does not reproduce pain. it's not meant as a cheat code.
Incredible and amazing 👍👍👍👌👌👌✌️✌️✌️💪💪💪🏋️🏋️🏋️🦍🦍🦍
Thanks.
@@twistedbarbell3950 You’re welcome.
The rubber coated iron plates are the plates any one actually needs and should but. Must of is don't be dripping the barbell doing Olympic weightlifting at home. It shouldn't be for obvious reasons. Guys that but then for home gyms are just neering out
correct.
It definitely helps especially for lifters with shoulder pain or issues. It’s also great for breaking plateaus as well.
Yes it does!
Yeah, looks like a well built accessory but the weight was a deal breaker for me. Too bad they couldn't add some aluminum to bring it down. I ended up making my own using a 2x12. I added sleepers at each end so could secure it to my safety arms with pins. So far, I've only used it for seal rows, one of my favorite movements.
Aluminum would have been great!
Stainless has a nice look and feel to it but I've never had an issue with chrome bars rusting or chipping off, even on my economy ones.
Same here Jim, as my environment is air controlled.
You're right, I have too many bars as it is.
I started with bodyfit and did ph3 lpoked into this and tried it out . Really like it ans the avility to tell you different excercoses is cool. Also the sleep tireness is cool. Also cheaper than jaguuernaut
Yep, im still using it
Lots of great points made.. Is good with the river. Grip matters a lot in use.. Especially if you use the plates individually off the barbell... It grabbing then off a rack or four
Totally get what you're saying! Grip really makes a difference, especially when you're loading up those plates. Keep lifting! 💪
Good video. FYI, the tensile strength has nothing to do with the flexibility. The flexibility has everything to do with the dimensions of the bar (diameter and length) and nothing to do with the tensile strength.
Thanks for the info!
Very thorough review. 👍🏼
Thanks Amir

where did you get those decals on your uppers
Magnetic hole markers from RocketsupplyCo.
Thanks for the review. Are they true to size or should I order half size up?
Mostly true to size, but because I have very wide feet, I typically go up half a size
What size are you calves for those XXXl's? It seems I almost need same, though I'm certainly smaller. I measured my calves at 14", I purchased the XL's, but found I can't quite get them on (and even less than zero chance over my left, which evidently is 1/4" larger). My knees could really use the help, and I just want to feel for myself that cheat code / rebound from the hole.
16.5”, so I went by the size chart and the 3xl works great. Did you try the folding method to get them on? If that doesn’t work then you should try the 2xls.
@@twistedbarbell3950I managed to actually get both on today, by first slipping each over my ankle, then folding the top over straight down to the bottom. Then pull the whole thing up, but ... could then only get about 1/3 of it past the middle of my knee. Folding the bottom up first, Brandon-style, I end up an inch or two lower (and can't pass my left calf at all). Seems my problem is .my knees at 15-1/2", and thighs 6" past the middle at 18" are a tad too much fro the XL's that measure 15" and taper to 12.. I'm going to go for the XXL's, and if I end up with extra material bunching / rubbing too hard - my current ~2mm spandex sleeves should be a nice liner 🙂
@@twistedbarbell3950 Folding them Brandon-style, I can get about an inch of material past my right kneecap, and stuck getting past my calf on the left. However, I've since found that by simply slipping them on past the ankle, then folding them down in half, I can get maybe 1/3 of the material past the middle of my kneecaps. Not enough. Seems my problem is my uncompressible knees .at 15-1/2", and thighs 6" past the middle at 18, are a tad too much for the XL's that measure 15" and taper to 12 unstretched. I'm going to go up one to the double X's, and if I end up with extra material bunching / rubbing too hard - my current ~2mm spandex sleeves should be a nice liner 🙂
@twistedbarbell3950 Received my RMA, 2XLs earlier this week and tried them on right away in the living room. Not too hard, but wow do they pinch the skin on the back of my thigh something fierce. Tried again with spandex sleeve liners - extremely difficult to get on, but then they graduate from painful to only uncomfortable. Tried them for squats the next day. After warm up sets ... took 10 minutes to put on and then I realized I had left my shoes off - so that was comical. Finally...waddle into position and ... holy moly! You're not kidding about cheat code. Like hydraulic jacks right under your knees those first few ferocious inches. I can hit a top set of 6 with these, same effort as set of 5 without. After all that ... probably won't use them much - too much work! Gotta be a super confidence booster for competition, though.
@@squealer42 sounds like you could use the 3xl yourself, but glad you like them
Great review Marcus 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Jesse
What height is your rack? I have the PR5000 80” and was worried if this will hang too low inside of the rack while I do squats.
Mine are an also 80” and it has been fine. At 6’2”, I do have to duck my head if I’m walking through the rack, but it’s not an issue with normal work like squatting.
Nice to see a recent video from you Marcus, and good work supporting your friend Brandon recently. That bar looks great. Hope you enjoy training with it.
Thanks Ant! It is a pleasure to work with you
Glad to see your new video, Marcus. I've missed your content over the last couple of months.
Thanks - means a lot to me and I hope to be more consistent moving forward
Awesome video! Have always considered Hansu but I think Australia has limited options. You are getting a nice collection of bars there mate. Bargain also. Eleiko confuses me. Their IPF bar is bare steel (although rarely rusts apparently) but their training bar is stainless? I had a rogue bare steel bar and it rusted almost immediately. The stainless steel one is amazing though.
Thank you and yes, certainly a bargain. Perhaps Eleiko uses bare steel in competition to give lifters the best feeling grip (unimpeded by a coating), but your guess is as good as mine. 😀
This is my favorite power bar! I alternate between this and the Ohio Power Bar.
Awesome and I can understand why.
I was about to buy the wrong one and I didn’t even know it. Thank you so much for such a good comparison.
My pleasure
Marcus - I can't believe that you actually received your calibrated plates! I ordered a 459 kg set back in mid-March. I've rec'd all the blues and lower but am still waiting on the reds. After politely whining to Hansu about the lengthy delays, they shipped a power bar to me for my troubles (though I'd still rather have my reds). Anyways, it's become my go to bar for bench and squats.
Xilinx, I actually ordered a few from their clearance section to compliment my Rogue calibrated plates, so perhaps that’s why mine shipped quickly. A complimentary power bar is a nice consolation but I feel your pain on the missing reds
Solid review my dude!
Thanks man!
I have been curious about this one for the last few years because of the price and its IPF approved
another good option for your friend.
Always good information with Big Marcus
Thanks Coach. It’s a good bar and another good option for home gyms.
How does the Hansu Power bar compare to the Kabuki Power bar? (Which is sharper, grip and has a better feel). Great review Marcus 👊👊
Thank you! It’s comparable in many ways. Good grip and feel and similar specs (lower tensile strength but for a LOT less money than Kabuki). The only difference that would be noticeable is the comp collars.
I come to this channel to do two things, check in with one of the best home gym content creators and SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON! Let's go. $212 is crazy barbell price
😂 you da man! Yes, it is a crazy price!
$162.00 on Amazon right now. Inflation is no match for the Crow Bar!
Not bad
Hey, thanks for the review! I am considering on getting one but yeah, price is off the charts 😅 Another concern is, are they washable/easy to wash? I really love the white/gold but I think they tend to get dirty easy.
They are pricey but easy to wash in machine and come out like new!
Good stuff
Appreciate it
We've all taken care of ourselves. Taking care of another, yeah, that's stressful. On that note, you sure he couldn't have hit that 240 first bench? Must not have thought 100KG wiggle room on deadlift was worth the risk🙂
had he been 100%, he could have hit that for a 1st bench easy! 😂
Great lifting Marcus, much respect 👊👊
Appreciate that!
That zip up is fresh to death!
Yeah, he has good designs!
@@twistedbarbell3950 Crazy that they had messed up brandon's lift, glad it was caught in advance

It was interesting to see the showroom on day one! Nice job!
Thanks and I’m planning on another trip soon - see what if anything has changed and try out some new stuff.
You convinced me to go with the wide pad on a Blackwing bench. I was on the fence about it. Thanks for the honest opinions based on your experience. I appreciate it and made sure that you got the affiliate credit on both my orders from Rep as a token of my appreciation.
You're welcome and I appreciate that.
I was hoping for something to talk me out of making this my next purchase. You completely failed me there. Great overview, thanks!
Sorry Mrwatson 😂
How did I miss this blast from the past, Twisted home gym opener all this time? Vintage, pre Bruce overwatch, even. Hey, what lighting and equipment did you get soon after that awesome'ized your production quality?
Started from the bottom🤣 bought some inexpensive flat panel LED lights, then a dedicated 4K full frame camera and some Rode Mics, mostly. Realized sound and lighting were sorely needed for good production.
the Obama bit was super funny
Thanks
Thanks for the review!

How do you feel with the bar almost a year later? I'm in the market for a new bar, and looking at this or a rogue PB
I still love the bar a year later. The knurling is still biting nicely too. If you’re looking for a nice bar, it’s a great option. I’ll also be putting out a review on the IPF approved Hansu bar which was even cheaper and is a great bar as well!
