- come train with me as I attempt a new deadlift rep max. I failed this weight the last time and only hit 2 reps. This time I attempt 3 reps. Will I make it this time? Deadlifts have been a bit of a struggle while I attempt to clean up my form, but I'm definitely making progress.
SHIRT LOOKING FRESH!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Jonathan!
Solid work, TB!
Thanks man. Was sloppy, but I’ll take it🤣
Your technique on deadlift is really on point reps look smooth even @10
I appreciate that! Still working on improving though👊🏾
Imma say it, that was a 9!
lol! If I had another rep in me, I’ve got a bridge to Brooklyn I’m selling too!
Nice work big dog!!!!!
Thanks Mitch!
Well done.
Thanks
Nice work!
Thanks Gavin
Nice set, Marcus! Good to see you hitting PRs!
Thanks Carter!
Legendary. Hips shooting up is a curse sometimes. Something I’m guilty of when getting heavy. It’s a tough beast to tame 😅
It sure is!
I always use alternating grip and literally decided today to start using straps and going double overhand for rep work, as my underhand arm on alternating grip kept pushing the weight away as I fatigued. Glad it’s not just me!
Yep, it’s a thing. I’m going to start working on my low rows with a mixed grip to see if I can improve lay engagement and keeping the bar steady.
@@twistedbarbell3950 good idea, look forward to hearing how you find it!
You made the comment about keeping hips down before rising, but I actually think your strongest position is a higher hip height! Them rising up at the start of the pull is the clue for me, they tend to go towards a strongest position.
And for the mixed grip, have you ever tried hook grip? Basically would give you the same lat activation as straps
When I let my hips rise too quickly it feels more like an RDL than a DL. I’m also trying to eliminate that slight rock forward, taking my shoulders out of position and dangling the bar ahead of me. Unfortunately, my fingers are too short/stubby to hook grip. I wish I could, honestly. I barely have enough thumb length to hold onto with my pointer, let alone my middle finger. How tall are you?
@@twistedbarbell3950 I’m 5’10”, so definitely shorter than you. But I totally get what you’re saying, but it is something you could experiment with. I found that a higher hip height for me helped my brace and allowed me to get better push from my quads
I thought the form looked good man!! Nice work
Appreciate it!
Lookin good bro! I just maxed out at 295
Nice work!
