Awesome job Marcus, great to see you progressing in your 50s. Sqt and DL 3rds looked like 2nd attempts, lots more in the tank. Keep going sir, you're a serious inspiration!
Amazing work! The most impressive part for me was you sticking to the program despite the setbacks of the last few weeks / months. Way to reach your goals and inspire others to do the same!
Of course! By the way, your PR-4000 rack and accessory reviews remain the most comprehensive ones on the internet and they were the reason I finally placed an order for one this month. Hope the affiliate link worked! @@twistedbarbell3950
You know, results say I placed 1st in my masters weight division and 2nd in open, but I don’t know if that’s accurate. It was so late when it was done, I didn’t stick around past initial medals 😂
Great job man! I’ve been using EvolveAI for the last couple of months and I’ve been liking it so far. I’m 3 days out from my first meet and some days ago I had a squat single programmed with about 80% of my 1RM and the squat felt heavier than it normally does. Being my first time peaking/tapering, is this something to be expected/common during this phase of training? This kinda threw me off and is making me think about opening much lower than the suggested opener from EvolveAI. Have you had any experience with this?
I absolutely have had experience with this. It is common and I’m guessing expected by experienced competitors. The body is resilient even though it feels wrecked. As you saw, I couldn’t hit my 405 DL even after a 2nd try, just a couple of weeks prior to the meet. I hit that for the 1st time in May and only got much stronger, yet I couldn’t do it then. You gotta trust the training. This week should be easy for you and really just going through the motions. Don’t do anything extra, get good sleep, eat well and ensure you’re getting adequate protein. If you do that, your body should be bouncing back at this point and you should be able to hit your targeted lifts. 1st meet will be overwhelming so just keep your head in the game and you’ll be fine. Best of luck!!
@@twistedbarbell3950 Appreciate your response man! Yeah being my first meet and feeling this way this close to competing has me feeling a bit pessimistic, but yeah, I’ll trust the program and get adequate rest and nutrition.
Pumped for you man. Plenty left I’m the tank!
Thanks brother! Psyched with the results and really looking forward to further improvements at the next meet.
Love you walking us through the meet and that deadlift moved so fast
Thanks Jonathan! I believe I could have hit 425, but I’ll leave that and more, for my next meet 😄
@@twistedbarbell3950 just want to see you get your knee 💯

Great job at the meet bro. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾. Quick question, where did u find those rack hole labels on ur rack uprights? Those are ingenious
Thanks. Got the magnetic labels from RocketSupplyCo.
Did you place or win a medal? PR since your last meet is fantastic!
