- Taking a look at these Irwin Fitness A-Horns today. I've found these a great way to add some height to my set up without having to increase the overall size of my rack.

Irwin’s stuff is always nice
💯
It's a nice addition and Irwin makes nice stuff!
Agreed!
You definitely have come up with some unique pieces to add to the home gym market and some cool companies to bring them to the market!
I don't think I can claim these, but glad to help make them more accessible!
Simple yet great addition to your rack. Also your inrack storage looks great.
appreciate it brother
Thanks for showing this. I live up north and didn't know about these guys. Will definitely be getting their flat bench and some other things.
They're higher end but they make some awesome stuff.
That’s pretty slick. I screwed some sturdy hooks into my joists and attached a short barbell to rig up a pull up bar. It works out alright, just enough room to keep my legs straight.
Right on!
Great solution for taller people with high ceilings!!
😅
Thanks for the interesting review, it’s always helpful to know where you can go for custom gear
No problem!
I have a RML 390c in MG black with 30” crossmembers. I wanted to add weight storage but didn’t want the 24” crossmembers for the storage uprights because I have limited space. Rogue’s solution was to send me the 17” crossmembers from the ML half rack and it is perfect. I have always had a great experience with their custom side of ordering. The uprights and crossmembers were delivered within 48 hours of talking to them.
Def a good way to save a foot!
Also tall lifter. I have 100” uprights on the front two and 90” on the rear. This came about from upgrading my monster squat stand. Also, the pull up bar doesn’t have to go at the max 100”.
I considered only doing the front ones but other than getting the higher pull up bar out of it I felt like I wasn't maximizing the extra height. I also don't know if my OCD would allow for uneven uprights 😅
@@BasementBrandon it would definitely be a different aesthetic.
Looks like a great product. I’m a fan of neutral grip pull-ups and looks like you can’t use yours where they’re currently mounted. You should flip them inside the rack on either crossmember.
I've been using those more for stretching but you're 100% right, they would need to be flipped to do pullups
could you potentially flip it upside down so the pull up bar goes underneath the rack instead of giving it more height? hopefully that makes sense
That should work
Wonder if this would work with a 4 post Rep Ares - there’s no pull up bar on that configuration due to the lat pull down
Should in theory, I'm sure Garth could make some adjustments if needed.
My question exactly. I called Irwin Fitness and left a message asking this very question but I haven't received an answer yet. 🤞
I received a response from Garth Irwin. Unfortunately it's not compatible with the rep Ares
What are those pull up handles in front of your rack?? I am in need of something similar--they look like drop down handles
Some pull up/squat handles I had Oak Club make me. They now sell them as Campbell handles. I have a video.
Tall guy here as well. Saw the Rogue multigrip as that adds six inches to the height. I really like this alternative, but I sadly have committed to the Slinger which would get in the way.
Def another valid option!
Rogue actually makes a pull up ladder, where if you ask them they will just sell you the arms.
I talk about it in the video 😇
I need this...but for a 5/8" hole size (Monster Lite). Sigh...
Check out Bremmy Strong
@@BasementBrandon Awesome, thanks for the tip!
Kind of the cool look of jammer arms, but actually useful, too!
Haha I used these more in the first month than I did with 2 years of the jammers.
We need you to do the voltras!
Will do!
Thank you
Welcome!
Does your rack have to have the 4 hole design for this to work? I have an older Legend rack which only has the 2 hole post design. Wondering if it would work on my rack.
Rogue uses 4 way offset holes.
What are the pull up handles on your crossmember called?
I have 2 sets, the straight ones are actually squat handles from Rogue, the bent ones are ones that I had Oak Club make me, which they now sell as "campbell handles" I have a video on them.
Am I supposed to stay big?
Viewer discretion is advised.
i did something similar to this. i added normal front feet extenders to the top of my uprights, but attached them so they stuck out sideways and then came forward. i used these as attachment points for a DIY cable crossover tower.
But the main point is it front feet extenders mounted inverted to the top of the front uprights would work similar to these.... but definitely wouldnt meet the boujee standards of the storm trooper look
Sounds pretty sweet!
It's amazing to me how much money i can save on home gym things by knowing how to weld, grind, paint etc
Def true!
Hold up.... basement ceiling with 100"?????????
When we built the house I paid extra for a deeper foundation
I thought this was a video bashing Irwin Fitness "A-Holes." I misread the title. 😅
Our brothers to the north 😇
@@BasementBrandon 🥰🥰🥰
I was gonna comment early and ask if u could just put a crossmember on there and extend your set up out and then boom, u said it as a consideration.. haha. Nice.
Great minds think alike.
6 inches is more then enough.
I'd be happy with far less.
That is why I do not do pull ups!
Need to grow those wings.
Is the pull-up bar from Rogue? Looking for a good option with knurling
This is but it's the standard powder coated version.
Which of the two white colors that Irwin has matches the Rogue white the best? RAL 9003 - Signal White or RAL 9010 - Pure White?
I don't recall offhand but if you message them they can reference what they did for me.
How does it effect your overhead pressing? Can you still press in front of the rack utilizing j cups on the front?
Yessir! I can do it as is or if I need to just take an extra step back.
@@BasementBrandon nice
up🔝
🤘
Sorinex has had these for years.
Not the same. They have bars that go out 46" and up another 30". That would not have worked.
Your gym could use a lot more mirrors.
I have an 8'x6' mirror on one of my walls, it's plenty! 💪
If only it were that easy to add 6 inches….
I'd be happy with an extra inch.
Would you need to change the 6 uprights though? Couldn't just change the two in front? Also I don't think you need to put the pullup bar at the highest point of the post, you could put it slightly below to give you enough space for your head, at least that's what I'm doing with my rack. But very cool product from Irwin!
I considered that but my OCD wouldn't allow that b/c then the rack would be uneven and depending on where the bolts go for the other crossmembers, wouldn't really give you much benefit of going taller.
I really like these videos you have been putting out lately. Sure it's not the newest products but you have some fantastic pieces in your gym that people love to hear more about.
I appreciate that!
They made me an incredible rack with custom height and custom name plate. You can feal the heart of a small shop on this masterpiece.
Yeah if I were starting over I'd seriously consider them for my rack!
Thank you for the great video. What are those things where the handles are hanging from?
I think you might be referring to the Beyond Power Voltras. I"ll do a video on those soon. They're really cool, but way too expensive for the home gym.
Oh, I've been looking for for something like this!
Hope it helps!
Nice I'm seeing that automated heavy smart cable attachment that I think starts with a V... I see you have two congrats... Mr. Gray has at least one... And Mr. Gluck unfortunately has none.
They're pretty sweet.
@@BasementBrandonwhat I like about them is how heavy they go and if not mistaken unlike something like the maxpro you can overload the eccentric but the MSRP is a complete home gym... Definitely fits your bougie basement gym... Eventually you're going to have to go detached high ceiling facility if you keep this up...
On my list already!
