Good to see StrengthCo plates getting some love. I have 700+ lbs from their first releases, and I love them. Also, good to hear your effort to move to USA made as much as reasonable. Nice review. I can't help but laugh watching you talk about replacing Rogue Chinese plates with StrengthCo USA plates while wearing a Rep shirt. Nice touch.
Also, I will add that I had (and have) Rogue DD. Unloaded the 25s and kept some 45s. You pointed out the backs (StrengthCo not machined and Rogue DD machined). While the backs of Rogue DD look amazing, I found the StrengthCo backs to be a better option in terms of durability. StrengthCo's design to not machine the backs is a plus in my book. The Rogue DD backs scratch ridiculously easy because they are so perfect. StrengthCo is more practical. Likewise, I found the Rogue DD 25s to be a "two handed" plate since they are not really "deep dish" and the lips is so small. I love your channel and your honest reviews. Now that I'm older, I find that I use the Rhino Bar and other specialty bars (Duffalo Bar, Spider Bar, Marrs Bar, SSB Bar, Trap Bar, etc) more than a standard barbell. I'm also doing more volume training (getting old sucks) and no longer do 1RM lifts so I'm not concerned with the number of plates I can fit on a barbell. So while I love these plates, I was very concerned about their close tolerances, especially because of my growing preference for the Rhino Bar and having experienced the challenges of loading/unloading such plates on it. Because of those concerns, I went with the Rogue Deep Dish plates and they are wonderful. However, I would have purchased these if it wasn't for the close tolerances. They are beautiful, old school, high quality black iron plates. They're made in the USA and are veteran owned. Both Rogue and Strength Co use Affirm so you can spread out your payments (though the interest is high, you can mitigate that by paying off the balance early). And honestly, the difference in price between these and the cheaper Rogue Deep Dish plates are around $300 if you spec out similar 1000lb sets. I would consider replacing all of my old Leoko and Challenge powerlifting plates with these provided the economy doesn't completely implode in the next six months and we're not bartering cans of beans for gasoline.
I love me some 35lbs plates. Disregard what everyone else says, gotta train my boys to lift heavy like their old man. They have to break into 200’s for their bench press some how.

All plates are at least 45 + 2% tolerance. no minus. no micro stealing your gains. lol. Man, that dumbbell rack is a thing of beauty. I own ironmasters and they're just no substitute for a rack full of quality, fixed dumbbells. btw maybe you should paint the letters of your strength co. plates white. they would "pop" and fits with your gym's white and black theme.
Yeah I think ideally they'll clean up the tolerances with time, but really dig them. I almost went the Ivanko OM route b/c I love those plates, just bums me out they outsource everything overseas except some bars.

I'll come out of the closet and say I like 35 pound plates, too. I have both the Rogue deep dish and the Strength Co. plates. For reasons mentioned in the video (Strength Co. offers change plates), my vote easily goes to Strength Co. Also, not mentioned in the video is that the Rogue "deep dish" 25s are anything but deep dish; in fact, they'll slip out of your hands if sweaty as they have almost no lip to grip them with. The Rogue 35s and 45s are great. I think Rogue really missed a golden opportunity by messing up the 25s and not having change plates for a complete set. Both made in the USA is a huge plus for me.
hey Bran, have you ever reviewing an adjustable bench with leg curl/extension attachment? i think that kind of bench is the most versatile bench for home gym. what do u think? and will u review it in near future?
I am one of the deep dish with Strength Co. change plates and I have to admit looking at my change plates makes me want to just switch completely. Unfortunately, Not everyone has the money Coop and you have. lol
Depends. If you like comp style plates (thin profile) the rogue ones might be better. Personally I prefer a bit more lip. Both are well worth it though.
Hmm that's a good question. Given price point remained unchanged, I may lean towards the six shooters at that point as they're cheaper and have better tolerance.
I don't see a lot of people talk about the noise plates make. You hit on it here really well about how tight plates interact with the sleeve, especially ones with pronounced ribbing. I am incredibly sensitive to sound. I just returned a barbell because the ribbing was so sharp it was hurting my ears badly. So I have a problem. I can't keep trying and returning strength equipment. What bar and plates make for the quietest plate loading and lifting experience? Who else can I talk to for recommendations?
Been waiting for a month for a pair of Rogue Deep Dishes to ship, only now they're out of stock. I can get them from The Strength Co shipped in a couple of weeks for about $40 more in total. Sounds kind of like a no-brainer, especially since I can get everything to match up and just have one set of plates instead of mixing and matching. Yeah, I know they don't have 35s and while I don't hate them, I don't care all that much about them either.
these would be my #1 pick now since plates all over are still out of stock. when they get things back in stock by the end of the month i better get on it and stop dragging ass
Yeah, I load the deadlift bar with 1 set of 45s and then load it up with 35s. "Omg you should be strong enough to lift the bar up and needlessly work yourself out putting all the 45s on before you even lift." Says a lot of people online, which is stupid. I don't have a deadlift jack either and it's pointless for me to buy one.
Love those plates . I went with the rogue deep dish . Cost me 2k for 500 lb here in Canada nb . Was like 500 in shipping . So expensive to get any good equipment around these parts . I've been eyeing down tyqr rep power rack but there still not shipping here yet .. ps would love ir you could do a review on the machined york legacy plates
Brandon the Strength Co. has got to figure out something better with their shipping. It’s Re-donk-u-luss!!! I love the plates, the color, the tight fit, they’re very desirable plates....till you go to check out rofl. Do you know if they’re shopping different carriers to try to get the shipping down at all? Rep will usually give you 2 or 3 options. Strength Co is like “this is your option. Your ONLY option.”
Yeah, the shipping changes your mind rather quickly once you hit checkout. I'm seeing it as 2.5 times as much as Rogue's shipping cost for the same amount of weight, and 3.5 times that of Rep's. My guess is that Strength Co. will eventually figure it out, but it's a deterrent for now.
Good video as usual, I do like the content you and Coop put out. Only one question why is there such a need to make sure the equipment is made in the USA? I understand some of the obvious reasons such as shipping, but if it's from a reputable company/reseller and is well-reviewed i.e positive reviews and possible longer-term reviews why would this be so important? Asking from the point of view of someone based in the UK with home gym equipment but it's definitely not all from the UK but I believe have done some good research into items purchases.
Never thought I would describe a set of weight plates as sexy but, these are definitely that. I find myself just starring at them next to micro pictures of barbel knurl. I need to get out more
Dang I really want the rep equalizer plates, why the hell did I watch you fabulous video. I’m in San Diego, thinking I’m going to drive there. to save on shipping.

Both made in the USA is a huge plus for me.
appreciate the firsthand feedback!
hey Bran, have you ever reviewing an adjustable bench with leg curl/extension attachment? i think that kind of bench is the most versatile bench for home gym. what do u think? and will u review it in near future?
I had one of those a long time ago. Most of the ones I've seen are of questionable quality.
Just got mine in per your vid. Love them. Thanks.
Awesome, appreciate the follow up!
Where did you get that white dumbbell rack?!!! Looks amazing -
It's from Sorinex.
I am one of the deep dish with Strength Co. change plates and I have to admit looking at my change plates makes me want to just switch completely. Unfortunately, Not everyone has the money Coop and you have. lol
I just don't spend my money on anything else outside the gym lol.
We can’t all be storm troopers
Deep dish only nice for deadlifts. Wise choice.
True and only to a certain extent. I don't think those big boys pulling 700lbs would be able to fit enough on there unless they went with the 100s
super tiiiiight fit...haha. They look sweet. Rockin that stormtrooper vibe
Thanks my man
Came for the review. Stayed for the sexual innuendos. lol “came”
I see what you did there.
Those look much better than Rogue deep dish....My Rogue deep dish came in damaged. Also they are a slick finish.
Sorry to hear, hopefully Rogue fixed it for you.
Love the Doug D shoutout
Yeah buddy!
Buying and selling expensive plates just to color coordinate my gym is way too Gucci for my standard of living.
Eh I sold em for what I bought em for!
6:48 oh ok retired Johnny sins, settle down now.
Who’s retired??
Which would you recommend, these or the new Rogue Olympic plates? With shipping the Rogue would actually be a bit cheaper.
Depends. If you like comp style plates (thin profile) the rogue ones might be better. Personally I prefer a bit more lip. Both are well worth it though.
Hypothetically, if the rogue six shooters were made in USA and Black e-coat... would you choose them over the Strength co. plates?
Hmm that's a good question. Given price point remained unchanged, I may lean towards the six shooters at that point as they're cheaper and have better tolerance.
@@BasementBrandon alright one more question, gun to your head: Rogue six shooters or Ivanko revolvers?
@@jimmyvang5271 Six shooters. Tolerances are better and priced cheaper.
Great question, Jimmy!
God I wish I had the pull u and Coop have to still get equipment to this day.....still got stuff on backorder!
Didn't have any pull here, had to wait for stock like everyone else!
Big inventory drop coming this month.
Another great video mate. 👍
Thanks 👍
Damn I just bought the six shooters after watching your videos 😂😂
The shooters are phenomenal IMO. I get into why I still swapped em out later in the video.
Some bars offer a smooth sleeve, that would prob help.
😆 better start wearing some ear plugs
Man if the timing had been right I would’ve totally bought your six shooters! Lol
These new ones are sweet!
Haha good timing as the person who bought them asked about them as o was contemplating the new ones!
Hey Basement Brandon - can you order these as sets yet (e.g., 245, 310...910)?
I don't believe so. Still have to do everything manually.
I would recommend them!
@@BasementBrandon That's good, because I canceled the Rogue order and bought the Strength Co plates.
If they suck, it's on you. ;)
these would be my #1 pick now since plates all over are still out of stock. when they get things back in stock by the end of the month i better get on it and stop dragging ass
The deep dish from rogue if you are in North America restock pretty frequently. And be frequently I mean like weekly.
@@dominickd16 i might do what brandon did and do the strength co + 35 lb rogue
They should have stock this week.
I heard the deep dish are the loudest sounding plates and they are thicc. Would rather the strength co
Hmm haven't heard too many noise complaints myself, but good to know!
Haha smart thinking!
I have the money just hard to find stuff all made in the USA.
Agreed
Love those plates . I went with the rogue deep dish . Cost me 2k for 500 lb here in Canada nb . Was like 500 in shipping . So expensive to get any good equipment around these parts . I've been eyeing down tyqr rep power rack but there still not shipping here yet .. ps would love ir you could do a review on the machined york legacy plates
I've been looking to get some as they're no longer made. Will see a video if so!
I'll pass that on!
Instant thumbs up on the made in USA comment.
Thanks Brad.
We need crossover content between you and Doug.
Need a car with knurled door handles and we can do it.
More personal preference really. Trying to support local and I appreciate the effort and higher costs that goes into doing so.
Those look clean bro!
Really happy with them!
Never thought I would describe a set of weight plates as sexy but, these are definitely that.
I find myself just starring at them next to micro pictures of barbel knurl.
I need to get out more
You and me both!
Dang I really want the rep equalizer plates, why the hell did I watch you fabulous video. I’m in San Diego, thinking I’m going to drive there. to save on shipping.
Equalizers are nice too (urethane), but I dig the machined plates.
It's sad that they aren't sold in europe. Great video btw !
ah yeah shipping would be insane I'm sure!
We ship to Europe. Just cost a lot.
@@thestrengthco Yes that's what I thought :/
I don’t give a dang about your plates but I’m here for you!!!
my man
Will you load up the squat bar with all of your Strength Co. plates and make a “will it bend?” video? Maybe you could squat it for a triple afterwards too. That would be a must watch video.
I would bend/break.
@@BasementBrandon what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger or something like that 🤣
I’ve never seen a bald guy wear a headband but it looks great
We need to keep sweat out of our eyes too!
